Abstract Soil is one of the important natural resources in Al-Muthanna desert, and the climate has played an important role in its formation. The soil in the study area is classified into several types that vary in their quality for agriculture. I concluded that the soil of the depressions and the plains alluvial soils are among the best types of those soils, followed by the sandy desert soil, which is characterized by its large area and can be exploited when providing water for it. As for the gypsum desert soils, they are of medium quality for cultivation, due to the presence of gypsum in them in high quantities and the lack of water retention. While the sandy and rocky dune soils are unsuitable for agriculture due to their high permeability. Wind and water erosion works to expose rocky soil rocks and transfer sand dune soil particles, but they constitute an important resource in the manufacture of building materials and glass if they are used properly.

Entikong is one of Indonesia's land border areas with Sarawak Malaysia, which is the gateway for economic and business activities. Despite being the front porch of a country, the fact is that the border areas of the State are very conditioned with lag. Limited access to public service resources and the inadequate community ability in processing natural resources including agriculture and plantations are the dominant factors influencing the lag of a border area. Bamboo is one of the abundant forest products in Entikong. The use of bamboo in the community is still limited to its use as building materials (scaffolding) and as a protective fence for plants in the gardens of the citizens. Bamboo Rope (Gigantochloa hasskarliana Kurz) species of bamboo found in the Entikong region, where elsewhere it generally makes it as a household handicraft material, but has not been used effectively in the entikong region. Community service activities aim to improve the skills of the Entikong community in processing bamboo plants as handicrafts of household goods of economic value so that it can be an additional source of income for the people on the border ===== Entikong adalah wilayah perbatasan darat Indonesia dengan Sarawak Malaysia, yang menjadi gerbang kegiatan ekonomi dan perniagaan. Meskipun menjadi beranda depan dari suatu negara, kenyataannya bahwa wilayah batas negara sangat sarat dengan ketertinggalan. Keterbatasan mengakses sumber-sumber pelayanan masyarakat dan kemampuan masyarakat yang tidak memadai dalam mengolah sumber daya alam termasuk pertanian dan perkebunan merupakan faktor yang dominan memengaruhi ketertinggalan sebuah wilayah perbatasan. Bambu adalah salah satu hasil hutan yang kelimpahannya besar di daerah Entikong. Pemanfaatan bambu dalam masyarakat masih terbatas pada penggunaannya sebagai bahan bangunan (perancah) dan sebagai pagar pelindung tanaman di kebun-kebun warga. Bambu tali (Gigantochloa hasskarliana Kurz.) adalah salah satu spesies bambu yang terdapat di wilayah Entikong. Di tempat lain umumnya menjadikannya sebagai bahan kerajinan rumah tangga, tetapi belum dimanfaatkan secara efektif di wilayah Entikong. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan warga masyarakat Entikong dalam mengolah tanaman bambu sebagai kerajinan alat-alat rumah tangga yang bernilai ekonomis sehingga dapat menjadi sumber penghasilan tambahan masyarakat di perbatasan tersebut.

In arid countries such as Saudi Arabia, aeolian sand often covers a large area of the country. Understanding the variations of sand properties in dunes, including grain size, sorting, mineral composition and water content, can be important for groundwater recharge, environmental, and construction applications. Earlier studies examined properties of sand dunes by collecting samples from the surface. This study aims to investigate variations of sand properties within a Barchan sand dune in the coastal area of Saudi Arabia, by collecting samples and measurements from two vertically drilled boreholes up to the ground water level; one drilled in the dune crest and another one in the limb. Representative samples were collected and analyzed for their texture parameters, water content, and mineralogy. Electrical resistivity survey data was also acquired to map water content variation in the dune limb, and for comparison with well bore data. The reported results show no vertical variations in grain size or sorting in the dune crest. In contrast, the upper 0.5 m of the dune limb shows a relatively poorer sorting than found in deeper parts of the dune. Laterally, no variations in minerology were observed between crest and limb sands while grain size tended to be slightly coarser in the dune limb compared to the crest. Regarding the water content, it was found to vary vertically, probably due to previous cycles of rainfall infiltration through the sand body. Such observed variation in water content is consistent with the measured resistivity profile which could clearly identify the water table and areas with higher water content. This study concludes that beyond the upper 0.5 m, the Barchan sand dune body can be treated as a homogeneous medium in terms of mineralogy and sorting while grain size increases slightly toward the limb side.

The number of destroyed cities in Iraq has increased significantly over the last five years. It presents a negative impact on the country's economy on the one hand and on the environment on the other. Reconstruction of these cities requires substantial capital to provide building materials needed for reconstruction and this leads to depletion of natural resources. This paper aims at finding an effective management method that contributes to the investment of the remnants of the components of destroyed buildings, including reinforcing steel, using the building information modelling (BIM) technique. The results showed that the amount of steel reinforcement that can be obtained from the destroyed buildings is enormous. Therefore, these quantities must be addressed through reusing or recycling. The sale of these quantities as recycling materials can provide a large income which can be added to the capital of the project.

The useful occupation of the total manpower of a nation is the first essential necessity for the general wellbeing of the whole, as well as for the individual. This condition is dependent upon an adequate use of all natural resources, particularly the renewable portion of those resources. Potential forest land comprises a very large area in Southern Ontario in addition to the total area composed of farmers' woodlots. These factors indicate that there is opportunity to make conservation in its broadest aspect, forestry activities in particular, a fulltime occupation for a larges number of inadequately employed people.

Magnesium slag powder from a local magnesium plant was treated to improve the volume stability for its application as building materials. The slag was mixed with borates, pressed into briquettes, and then sintered at high temperature. SEM studies show that at the higher temperature Ca2SiO4polymorphs were stabilized by Na and B ions in the added borates. The free MgO content in the slag was also decreased by the sintering treatment. The slag powder, after mixing with 0.4-0.6% of borates and sintered at 1200°C in 5-6 hours, has become volume stable aggregates. It is then possible to use the treated slag in constructions, saving valuable natural resources and decreasing the global warming impact from magnesium production via Pidgeon process.

The mycorrhizal fungus Glomus in association with bean hosts, Phaseolus vulgaris L., growing in pot cultures and grass hosts, Calamovilfa longiflora (Hook.) Scribn and Andropogon sp. growing on Lake Huron sand dunes produced extensive external mycelium. This mycelium was the dominant factor in the aggregation of soil particles. Light and scanning electron microscope studies indicated that the sand grains were attached to the hyphae. An amorphous deposit was often present at the interfaces of sand grains and hyphae. It appeared to act as an adhesive. Staining procedures indicated that this material contained polysaccharide. Other microorganisms were observed in association with the Glomus hyphae and the amorphous deposits.

The land is a source of life for living creature, whether human, animal or plant. Humans live and live on the ground and these the land to source life by planting plants that produce food. Considering the importance of land because it can produce natural resources that are very beneficial for many people, the government needs to be related. Landis also one of the factors of production that are vital for human life and development in a nation. An increase in the volume of development within a country, eroding the importance of land for agriculture. Population growth requires a large area, resulting in reduced or reduced land supply. Then the government made law number 56 of PRP in 1960 concerning the stipulation of the area of agricultural land carried out by the long midrange community was hereditary. And at the time of the process of returning the rights to the community's land long midrange program, there was a problem that the long midrange community did not agree with the program because the long midrange community did not want a portion it the agricultural land was taken by the government. And in general, agricultural land controlled by the people in long midrange is used for agricultural land because the potential of natural resources here is quite abundant and even then that is used by the people in long midrange as agricultural lands, such as making rice field, plantations, fields, and still many more are use our exciting community. But the community does not know of the minimum and maximum limit or agricultural land they community.

<p>Advances in technology have encouraged the growth of a variety of biodiversity processing methods. These conditions encourage efforts to use natural resources more broadly. Ethnobotany can be used to document the local knowledge of the plants and their utilization. This study is aimed to describe the various forms of bamboo utilization by Sangirese. The method used was survey with purposive sampling. The data were analyzed descriptively based on exploration results and interviews with the people. The results showed there were 11 species of bamboo that are directly related to the life of local community in Sangirese, consisting of seven species of <em>Bambusa</em>, three species of <em>Schizostachyum</em>, and each one species of <em>Dendrocalamus </em>and <em>Gigantochloa</em>. Local community use bamboo for a variety of daily necessities; as building materials, handicraft, furniture, ceremonies, musical instruments, transportation, medicine, ornamental plants, as well as food. These exploration results are expected to complement the data of bamboo ethnobotany in Indonesia. Applicatively, this research is expected to be a reference in the national strategy of bamboo germplasm resource conservation.</p>

Sesame crop, one of the very important oily, industrial, and summer crops that is economically important, has been investigated. The plantation and production of this crop has been studied in Al-Qadisiyah governorate during 2003-218. This is because this governorate is well-known by sesame plantation. Such a study helps to know the geographical distribution of sesame agricultural season in 2017-2018, and explore the most important natural factors that affect its plantation. Different research approaches have been adopted based on that facts that need to be met. A field study approach has been used in studying sesame crop descriptively and conceptually, shedding light on its nutritional and economic importance. Moreover, a descriptive comparative approach has been adopted when studying the geographical factors to know about the factors that affect its plantation and production in the area in question. Results have shown that climatic conditions of the area is suitable for its plantation and production. However, the soils of Al-Qadisiyah are of various categories. The best category is the riverbank soil, then comes river basin soil, and the depression soil of poor drainage. The latter has been invested after reclaiming it through planting the rice crop. Another type of soil is the sand dune soil which is unsuitable for agricultural production. Another type is the gypsum desert soil, which is agriculturally poor. Results have further revealed that rivers are considered the main surface water resource in the irrigation process as represented by the Euphrates Riverand its branches within the governorate. This is due to the lack of rain and its fluctuation.

Housing is one of the biggest contributors in polluting the ozone layer and consuming the natural resources in making one. Home interior takes part in the over-produced material used for covering the interior elements, such as floor, wall, ceiling, and furniture. The article conducting is to study the green aspect of building materials to find alternative material to beautify the house that is not harming the earth. The result is options of eco material to be used in the making of greener home interior. It is materials that can be renewed, recycled, and low in embodied energy. Materials used in home interior have impact to the natures. Thus, awareness in choosing the right material to decorate the house is very important.
