Studies on student interest on any given course has been given attention by a number of researchers. Usually, these studies focus on factors that influence student inclination to learn a course. Student interest in a course generates various outcomes, such as encouraging student performance, and this performance is measured through student participation in lectures, course-related activities, and student motivation and drive to study a course. For core university courses such as Islamic and Asian Civilisations or TITAS, a study on student interest in the subject is highly relevant. A highly-positive interest in the course will realise one of the significant aspects of the government agenda; to unite the multi-ethnic groups in Malaysia. Therefore, this study is conducted to measure the interest of students of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) towards TITAS. This study uses the quantitative research method, through descriptive analysis of student interest in TITAS, with questionnaires as the research instrument of choice. The findings show students have a very positive response to this course, thus proving that student enthusiasm and interest in learning the course is very high.

The main outcomes of an engineering course should be for the students to achieve the educational goals, enhance their problem solving capabilities and develop essential skills for their future career. In that context, it is important to understand what motivates the students and what helps them develop an engineering mind-set. This paper discusses the improvement of a course with the use of student feedback to motivate students and help them develop essential skills. The purpose of the paper is to provide insight into how different aspects of the course are linked to the students’ growth. Different activities have been integrated in the course over the past years. The effect these have on the student motivation to follow the course and develop skills, knowledge and interest in the subject is discussed through the analysis of student performance, student feedback and the experience of the lecturers. The improvements in the course based on the student feedback were received positively by the students, whose learning experience improved, even though the workload of the course was high. Their motivation to successfully complete the course has also increased through the changes in the delivery of the course and the support by the teachers. The combination of student feedback and teacher experience is key for the improvement of a course, while ensuring that the students develop their engineering knowledge. Therefore, the teachers should strike a balance between helping the students find the solution and encouraging them to think on their own in order to develop essential skills.

Students feel bored when the teaching approach is monotonous and unchanging, making it essential for Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) teachers to provide variations in the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to determine student motivation in football material by implementing small-sided games. A descriptive and quantitative research method with a school survey approach was employed, while the data was collected by using questionnaires distributed to 49 students. Then, data analysis was performed by using descriptive statistics in the editing, coding, and scoring stages. The results showed that two and four students had 4.1% and 28.6%, meaning they had very low and low motivation to follow the football material. Eighteen students scored 36.7%, nine had 18.4%, while six scored 12.2%, which means they had sufficient, high, and very high motivation. Therefore, the study results concluded that giving small-sided games made students' motivation to follow football material more suitable. Furthermore, a study with more extensive and varied sample sizes was recommended to discover other solutions to the problem.

Indonesia with a Muslim population reaching 87.17% is very strategic for the development of halal industry. But the halal industry in Indonesia has not grown optimally. One reason is the lack of Islamic financial literacy, whereas literacy greatly influences the financial decisions taken. The government organization, BPJPH, which handles certification and provides Islamic financial literacy, has not yet operated. Therefore we need an innovative solution that is a smart system about Education and Investment for halal industry. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative. Through quantitative research with one sample t test using descriptive analysis and each 1 research variable. This system is a concept of innovation in the field technology that can be a bridge for government organizations namely BPJPH to provide Islamic financial literacy. Not just giving literacy, but also offering alternative solutions for submission of sharia-compliant capital loans. This system brings together important elements in the halal industry cycle, namely halal industry players, Islamic banking, investors and the government as regulators through an application. Increased Sharia financial literacy and the potential of Return of Investment in halal industries can be realized. This is evidenced by an increase of 80% to the understanding of the halal industry from before, and the potential increase in capital and profits that reached a Return of Investment of 14.3% in the calculation of research samples in the province of East Java. This shows the benefits and success of the application of smart education and investment systems for the halal industry in Indonesia.
