All pre-entrepreneurial development training programs collect data on the participating individuals as baseline data. This paper’s research question is whether the baseline data of youths can be analyzed to establish comparative gender characteristics. The analysis, data compared gender characteristics to identify customized gender training programs and policies; and as a mechanism for monitoring these characteristics as individuals develop into entrepreneurs. Data from youths being trained after an insurgency in a developing country were used and analysis was conducted with the help of SPSS ver. 21. Findings were that male youths were significantly more interested than female youth in the training. Significant correlations of assosiated chararctertisitcs among the youths were found to be similar across gender, although some were gender related. ANOVA revealed a significant difference in education, meals eaten per day and savings with varying levels of effect among male and female youths, with male youths scoring higher than the females. Education mediated monthly income and savings among female youths; however, among male youth its mediation was on the number of dependents they had. Finally, a binary logit regression showed that both genders were predictable using their education, quality of house they reside in, number of dependents and amount of savings but with varying direction of likelihood and extent. Implications of the study are discussed in the paper.

Background. The relevance and clinical and social need for this study is determined by the fact that to date, no comprehensive therapy and prevention of suicidal behavior (SB) has been developed in patients with schizophrenia from the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO). Objective – to analyze the features of positive and negative syndromes by using the PANSS scale before and after complex therapy in people with schizophrenia who in the past had suicidal behavior. Materials and methods. 266 people aged 22 to 50 years were selected with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, who in the past had suicidal behavior. 136 people with suicidal behavior in schizophrenia who were treated in 2014-2016 constituted the main group (МG). The control group (CG) constituted 130 people with suicidal behavior in schizophrenia who were examined in 2006-2013. Results. In order to improve care for patients with suicidal behavior in schizophrenia who have been living in the ATO zone, we proposed an algorithm for the treatment process, which included a comprehensive and phased provision of medical and social assistance. In addition to standard care using clinical protocols, we have introduced a comprehensive approach taking into account the gender characteristics of patients with schizophrenia with suicidal behavior. Integrated author’s therapy was carried out at the inpatient and outpatient stages. Treatment measures were aimed both at the patients with schizophrenia with suicidal behavior, and at their relatives. After the treatment, we analyzed dynamics of positive, negative and psychopathological syndromes according to the PANSS, compared the results obtained before and after therapy. It was found that the main number of results that have a significant difference in МG and CG, relates to general psychopathological symptoms, which were identified as markers. Conclusions. The highlighted markers of positive, negative and psychopathological syndromes, that reduce the quality of life and lead to impaired social functioning, underwent positive changes when introducing a model of comprehensive measures to help patients with suicidal behavior in schizophrenia.

The current study investigated the outlook of sandwich programmes from the lenses of students, based on the acceptability of the programme, quality of the teaching and learning process as well as the challenges sandwich students face. With a survey research design, 250 sandwich students answered questions on the three constructs. At the end of the study, the researchers found evidence that there were no significant differences in the acceptability of sandwich programme, quality of sandwich programmes, challenges of sandwich students, based on gender as well as age. Males and females as well as older and younger students provided similar responses. Secondly, there was a significant difference in the three constructs, based on programme of study. Students offering different programmes provided different information. Thirdly, out of the three constructs, the challenges that sandwich students face had a significant difference in terms of their employment status. Students who were employed and those who were not employed gave different responses. Fourthly, there was a strong positive correlation among the three constructs. Finally, age, quality of sandwich programmes, and challenges of sandwich student’s constructs were good predictors of the acceptability of the sandwich programmes. The researchers recommend that there should be a close look at the age of students, the quality of teaching and learning process, and the challenges of sandwich students in order to determine the sustenance of sandwich programmes. We developed and implemented an annual online survey to administer to residents exiting residency training in order to (1) assess the quality of the residency experience and (2) identify areas of strength and areas requiring improvement. Long-term goals include program planning, policy-making and maintenance of quality control. Survey content was developed from an environmental scan, pre-existing survey instruments, examination of training criteria established by the CFPC and the CanMEDS criteria established by the RCPSC. The survey included evaluation benchmarks and satisfaction ratings of program director and faculty, preparation for certification and practice, quality of life, quality of education, and work environment. The response rate was 28%. Seventy-five percent of respondents were exiting from Royal College training programs. Results of descriptive statistics determined that the overall educational experience was rated highly, with 98.9% of respondents satisfied or very satisfied with their overall patient care experience. Ninety-six percent of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the overall quality of teaching. Preparation for practice was identified as needing improvement, with 26% and 34% of respondents giving an unsatisfactory rating to career guidance and assistance with finding employment, respectively. Although 80% of respondents reported receiving ongoing feedback and 84% discussed their evaluations with their supervisors, only 38% of evaluations were completed by the end of the rotation. The results indicate that residents are generally satisfied with their experiences during residency training, especially with their overall educational experience. Areas of improvement include preparation for practice and timeliness of evaluations. Further iterations of this survey are needed to refine the instrument, identify data trends and maintain quality control in residency training programs. Frank JR (ed.).
