AbstractA description is given of the sexual behaviour of 16 longicorn beetles of the subfamily Lepturinae. The following points have been investigated:- 1. Stimulation of the female performed by the male either as a "licking" or combined "licking and tapping" of the female elytra or the grasping of an antenna of the female. 2. Movements of the antennae of the male, which seem to be an expression of the "state of excitement" of the male. These movements are in principle thought to be one of the behaviour patterns originally present in the order Coleoptera. 3. A "round dance", one of the methods for the female to throw off the male after copula, is described. 4. A selection of partner according to size is described in the genus Rhagium. 5. A comparative analysis is attempted for some species and systematic conclusions of such comparisons are proposed.

This paper introduces a novel feature selection model for supervised interval valued data based on interval K-Means clustering. The proposed model explores two kinds of feature selection through feature clustering viz., class independent feature selection and class dependent feature selection. The former one clusters the features spread across all the samples belonging to all the classes, whereas the latter one clusters the features spread across only the samples belonging to the respective classes. Both feature selection models are demonstrated to explore the generosity of clustering in selecting the interval valued features. For clustering, the kernel of the K-means clustering has been altered to operate on interval valued data. For experimentation purpose four standard benchmarking datasets and three symbolic classifiers have been used. To corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed model, a comparative analysis against the state-of-the-art models is given and results show the superiority of the proposed model.

This article analyzes the concept of state of the military historian Martin van Creveld. This analysis allowed the author to view prerequisites and establishment of the state and denote the concept of state. In the latter he differentiates the concepts of state and social practices that ensure their implementation, organization of management and accepted in culture explanations on the need for such organization, which in the author’s opinion comprises the meaning and content of power. Moreover, the article introduces the term of sociocultural pre-basis of the state that allows denoting the substantiation of the trajectory of development of the state and selection of a particular political form. Research methodology includes situational and comparative analysis, articulation of the problems, structuring of notions, reconstruction of historical evolution of the state, analysis and comprehension of the writings of M. Creveld. The author was able to analyze the proposed by Creveld concept of the state, as well as suggest an original version of establishment and development of the state, outline the characteristics of the concept of state (differentiation of stages of its establishment, concepts of states and social practices that ensure their realization, etc.), as well as raise a number of questions related to the discussed topic.

Agroclimatic conditions of the Kamchatka Krai and limiting factors that restrain the growth of potato yield are considered. The characteristics of new varieties of potatoes of the selection of the Kamchatsky RIA are created in accordance with the priority for the region selection areas included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of the Russian Federation and protected by patents.

Abstract The analysis of the production and yield of sunflower seeds in Ukraine for the period from 2000 to 2019 was conducted in the article. The comparative analysis of the gross harvest of sunflower seeds and the export of sunflower oil for the years under research was carried out. The dependence of exports on gross harvest was revealed and its share was calculated. It was determined that the export of sunflower oil has increased over the years under research, which indicates a significant Ukraine’s export potential. It was found that the increase in the share of exports by 15.9% was made possible by a qualitative change in yield, that was ensured by the changes in the cultivation technology and by the selection of sunflower hybrids that are better adapted to climate changes. The recommendations for further improvement of cultivation technology in connection with climate change in order to further increase yields and the export potential of Ukraine were given.

Because many political science instructors come from another region or state; they feel insufficiently informed in teaching about the state and local government wherein they presently reside. Consequently, instructors generalize about these governments. Yet in many public universities and community colleges, students find the politics in their area pertinent and care less for comparative analysis. In truth, the students probably have a valid point, since the majority will reside in the state where they are attending college.
