Objective: The aim of this study is to test the effects of a customized intervention on distress among caregivers of persons with dementia (PWD) using a quasi-experimental design. Method: Fifty-one spouse caregivers in the experimental group and 51 in the control group participated in the study. The effects of the intervention were examined by comparing caregivers’ responses with questionnaires at pre-intervention baseline (T0) and immediately after intervention (T1). Differences were quantified using repeated-measures ANOVA. Results: The analyses indicated a stabilizing effect of the intervention on caregivers’ perceptions of PWD’s daily functioning, self-esteem related to caregiving, quality of family support, and feeling of distress. Linear increases were observed regarding sense of preparedness and impact on daily routine, while no differences (interaction and linear effects) were observed for degree of self-efficacy, depression, impact on finances, or self-rated health. Conclusion: These findings show a preliminary efficacy of the intervention proposed in this study to prevent the exacerbation of caregivers’ distress.

Textbook is important for student as main media in learning Arabic and significant to teacher for teaching besides suitable method in order to achieve necessary result, is the textbooks, however, must be fit students’ level of capability and nahwu al-wadhih is one of effective textbooks for any students’ level since it offers practical study which goes along with istinbathiyah method. Thus the writer is interested in conduct research that concerns on application of nahwu al-wadhihin Darul Hikmah boarding school, and decided to entitle this research as “effectiveness in using nahwu al-wadhih and istinbathiyah method to improve students’ understanding in Arabic grammar”. The aim of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of using nahwu al-wadhih and istinbathiyah method in Darul Hikmah boarding school and to disclose students’ responses toward Arabic grammar using nahwu al-wadhih and istinbathiyah method in DarulHikmah boarding school. This research uses a quasi-experimental design method. Research instruments for this research are interview along with pre-test and post-test. Result of study indicates that using nahwu al-wadhih and istinbathiyah method is effective to improve students’ understanding in learning Arabic grammar in DarulHikmah and students’ responses in learning Arabic grammar using nahwu al-wadhih and istinbathiyah method in Darul Hikmah are enthusiastic and excited.

This study aims to determine the performance of the respondents in using the developed WebQuest in the Google site. This study used the quasi-experimental design method making use of pretest-posttest design. The developed teaching instruction was implemented to 30 Grade 6 Elementary pupils and to 30 pupils for traditional lecture method from selected public schools who were enrolled during the SY 2016 - 2017. Furthermore, the result of the study showed that there was a significant improvement in the respondents’ conceptual understanding in the concept of Circulatory System. Moreover, the result also showed that there is a difference between the post test scores of control group and experimental group. This strongly concludes that the WebQuest is really an effective tool in teaching Circulatory system. Respondents also revealed that the Google site was really enjoyable, entertaining, interactive and easy to learn.

Anemia terjadi di seluruh dunia, terutama di negara berkembang dan pada kelompok sosio-ekonomi rendah, yaitu pada 45 % wanita. Anemia merupakan salah satu penyebab tidak langsung kematian ibu. Berbagai upaya dilakukan, namun belum menunjukkan hasil maksimal. Perlu upaya lain berupa pemberian jus alpukat untuk mengatasi anemia kehamilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian jus alpukat terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan jumlah eritrosit ibu hamil. Jenis penelitian Quasi experimental design, dilaksanakan bulan November s.d. Desember 2017 di Puskesmas Sindang. Jumlah responden 33 ibu hamil trimester II, kadar Hb < 11 g/dL ditentukan dengan purposive sampling. Responden mengisi kuesioner, kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar Hb dan jumlah eritrosit 3 kali yaitu pre, hari ke-7, dan 14 setelah intervensi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif, analisis bivariat menggunakan independent dan paired sample t-test serta analisis mulitivariat menggunakan repeated measures ANOVA. Mengonsumsi jus alpukat selama 14 hari efektif meningkatkan kadar Hb dan jumlah eritrosit. Hasil uji beda tidak terdapat perbedaan kadar Hb dan jumlah eritrosit antara kelompok kontrol dengan intervensi. Hb rata-rata kelompok kontrol 10,375 g/dL sedangkan intervensi 10,653 g/dL (nilai p=0,986). Jumlah eritrosit rata-rata pada kelompok kontrol yaitu 3,455 juta/mm3 sedangkan intervensi 3,614 juta/mm3 (nilai p=0,763). Uji multivariat terlihat perbedaan antara kelompok kontrol dengan intervensi. Pada kelompok kontrol kadar Hb rata-rata (p=0,441) sedangkan intervensi (p=0,023). Untuk jumlah eritrosit rata-rata pada kelompok kontrol (p=1,000) sedangkan intervensi (p=0,043). Simpulan peneltian adalah terdapat pengaruh positif pemberian jus alpukat selama 14 hari terhadap peningkatan kadar Hb dan jumlah eritrosit rata-rata, namun tidak ada perbedaan antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Abstrak Anemia occurs worlwide, especially in developing countries and in low socioeconomic groups. i.e. in 45% of women. Anemia is one of the causes of bleeding. Various attempts have been made, but have not shown the maximum results. Need other efforts in the nutrition form of avocado juice to overcome the anemia of pregnancy. This research aims to determine the effect of avocado juice on hemoglobin and erythrocyte levels of pregnant women. The type of this research is Quasi Experimental design which implemented in November to December 2017 with 33 respondents of trimester II pregnant women who have HB<11g/dL and determined by purposes sampling. Repondents filled out questionnaires to determine their characteristics and performed laboratorium checkup 3 times, pre, on day 7 and 14 after intervention. The data analysis was done descriptively, hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test, to know the effectiveness of avocado juice using paired sample t-test and to know the difference of mean of Hb and erythrocytes using ANOVA repeated measures test. Consuming avocado juice for 14 days was effective in increasing the average of Hb and erythrocyte levels. LSD post hoc test results showed significant differences in Hb and erythrocytes mean (Hb p-value = 0.023 and erythrocytes p-value = 0.043) in the intervention group between pre and day 14 post intervention. While in the control group p-value p= 0.441 for Hb and erythrocytes p=1.000. The conclusion of this research that there was a positive effect of consuming avocado juice for 14 days in increasing the average of Hb and erythrocyte levels, but the hypothesis test result showed that there was no significant difference between the intervention group and the control group.

This research was conducted to analyze the application of make a match learning model to improve the learning outcome of geography in class X of SMA PGRI 4 Banjarmasin with the material of geography principles. This research employed a quasi-experimental design method, quantitative approach and non-equivalent of pre-test and post-test control group design. The research included two groups namely the control and experimental groups. The number of the population was 67 students. All students in class X were used as the samples, where class X 1 was as the experimental class and X2 was as the control class. Students in class X 1 and X-2 were 35 students and 32 students.  The result of t-test showed that the value of post-test for experimental class using make a match learning model was 54.87. The post-test result from the control class using the conventional model was 48.05. The post-test using the make a match had the higher learning outcome than the conventional model. The make a match learning model had increased the student learning outcome of geography.

Abstrak. Kedisiplinan memiliki peranan penting dalam membentuk pribadi yang taat pada aturan-aturan yang ada dan bertanggung jawab terhadap tugas yang harus dikerjakan. Kedisiplinan dapat meningkat, salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh kesadaran diri. Sehingga perlu adanya pengelolaan kesadaran pada diri untuk memahami, mengenali, mengakui, dan mengekspresikan diri secara akurat. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa SMK yang memiliki kategori tingkat kedisiplinan yang rendah. Keseluruhan subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 siswa, yang terbagi dalam 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Quasi Experimental Design dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling, dan dengan model desain eksperimen pre test-post test control group design. Uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Man Whitney U-Test dengan nilai z= -3.485 dan  sig (2 tailed)= 0,000 dimana (p<0,01), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan tingkat kedisiplinan yang signifikan antara kelompok yang diberikan pelatihan kesadaran diri dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang tidak diberikan pelatihan kesadaran diri.Kata kunci: Kedisiplinan, Pelatihan Kesadaran diri.Abstract. Discipline has an important role in managing individuals who obey the rules that exist and are responsible for the tasks that must be done. Discipline can increase, one of which is developed by self-awareness. Because it needs to be considered, awareness must be approved, approved, recognized, and approved. The subjects in this study were vocational students who had a low level of discipline category. All subjects in this study were 20 student experiments, which were divided into 2 groups: the experimental group and the control group. The research method used in this study were the Quasi Experimental Design method with a purposive sampling technique and the pre-test design model of the control group design. Hypothesis testing in this study use the Man Whitney U-Test technique with a value of z = -3,485 and sig (2 tailed) = 0,000 where (p <0.01), which on average contains a significant level of discipline compared to the group that is not given self-awareness training.Keywords: Discipline, Self Awareness Training

Peserta didik pada tingkatan sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) umumnya berada pada masa remaja dan tahap eksplorasi yaitu mulai melakukan penelaahan diri, mencoba untuk berbagi peran, serta melakukan penjelajahan untuk suatu pekerjaan atau atau jabatan. Akan tetapi, sebagai lulusan SMK menimbulkan persaingan yang semakin ketat di dunia kerja. Karenanya, banyak peserta didik yang terlihat memiliki keraguan dan merasa salah dalam memilih jurusan sehingga berdampak pada perkembangan karirnya di masa yang akan datang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experimental design dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII di SMK “X” Ciwidey, Kabupaten Bandung. Populasinya sebanyak 96 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji t-paired dan didapatkan hasil 0,000 <0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan dan dapat diartikan juga bahwa pendampingan perencanaan karir memiliki kontribusi yang sangat signifikan dalam meningkatkan self-efficacy yaitu sebesar 83,8% sedangkan sisanya 16,2% berkorelasi dengan variabel lain. Kata Kunci: Pendampingan Perencanaan Karir, Self Efficacy, SMK. Students at the vocational high school (SMK) are generally in teenage and exploratory stages that begin to learn independently, try to share roles, and explore jobs or positions. However, as vocational graduates grow increasing competition in the workplace. Therefore, many learners who seem to have doubts and feel wrong in choosing a department so that the impact on the development of his career in the future. This research uses quasi experimental design method with Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study is the students of class XII in SMK "X" Ciwidey, Bandung District. Population as many as 96 students. This study used t-paired test and got result 0.000 < 0,05. This indicates that there is a difference between before and after treatment and it can be interpreted also that career planning assistance has a significant contribution in improving self-efficacy is 83.8% while the remaining 16.2% correlates with other variables. This research can be concluded that animated film media influence to children speaking skill of group A TK Nurul Huda Demak Lesson Year 2016/2017. Suggestions that researchers should convey this research can be applied in schools as a proof of Hasil observasi di TK Nurul Huda Demak, banyak dijumpai pada anak usia 4-5 tahun menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara anak masih kurang, terlihat dari cara anak dalam menyampaikan apa yang diinginkannya masih malu-malu, anak menjadi pasif, kurang keberanian anak dalam berbicara. Peneliti memilih film animasi Adit Sopo Jarwo sebagai media yang digunakan dalam penelitian karena film ini mengandung nilai edukatif yang tinggi, kesederhanaan perkampungan, gotong royong, kebersamaan dan kegiatan bermain keseharian anak-anak.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media film animasi terhadap keterampilan berbicara kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi experimental design. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan the non ekuivalen, pretest-posttes design. Dalam penelitian ini sebagai populasi adalah anak-siswi Kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah anak-siswi kelompok A yaitu kelompok A 1 dan kelompok A 2 TK Nurul Huda Demak yang terdiri dari 15 anak Kelompok A 1 dan 15 anak Kelompok A 2. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi.Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan uji-t diperoleh sebesar 37,0667 sementara ttabel dengan db= n-1 = 15 – 1 =14 dengan taraf signifikan 5% sebesar 1,76. Karena thitung> ttabel yakni 37,0667 > 1,76 maka dapat disimpulkan adanya treatment terhadap keterampilan berbicara. Jadi hipotesis (Ha) yang berbunyi terdapat pengaruh media film animasi terhadap keterampilan berbicara pada kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak diterima dengan taraf signifikan 5%.Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa media film animasi berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara anak kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Saran yang peneliti sampaikan hendaknya penelitian ini dapat diterapkan di sekolah sebagai bukti inovasi guru professional. Observation in Nurul Huda Demak kindergarten, many found in children aged 4-5 years shows that children's speaking skills are still lacking, seen from the way the child in conveying what he wants is still shy, the child becomes passive, lack of courage in talking children. Researchers chose the animated film Adit Sopo Jarwo as a medium used in research because this film contains high educational value, the simplicity of the village, gotong royong, togetherness and daily play activities of children.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of animation film usage on the speaking skills of group A TK Nurul Huda Demak Lesson Year 2016/2017.The method used in this research is quasi experimental design method. The design of this study used the non-equivalent, pretest-posttes design. In this study as a population is a student of Group A TK Nurul Huda Demak academic year 2016/2017. The samples in this study were A group A children and group A 2 TK Nurul Huda Demak consisting of 15 children of Group A 1 and 15 children of Group A 2. The data in this research was obtained through observation, interview, documentation.The result shows that t-test is obtained at 37,0667 while t table with db = n-1 = 15 - 1 = 14 with 5% significant level equal to 1,76. Because thitung> ttabel ie 37.0667> 1.76 then it can be concluded the existence of treatment of speech skills. So the hypothesis (Ha) which reads there is the influence of animated film media on the skills of speaking in group A TK Nurul Huda Demak accepted with a significant level of 5%.innovation of professional teachers

Implementation of Jelajah Alam Sekitar-based worksheets (JAS) aims to improve student learning outcomes at SMPN 38 Semarang. JAS-based worksheets were developed by utilizing the environment around the school. Environmental problems are presented based on observations of environmental conditions around the school. Environmental problems around the school are presented in practical activities to increase student participation in learning. Experimental class learning using JAS-based worksheets with sources of environmental problems. The control class uses worksheets created by the teacher, learning with a cooperative model with a discussion method. This research uses a Quasi experimental design method with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design design. The population of this research is all students of class VII SMPN 38 Semarang. The research sample was determined by a purposive sampling technique, namely class VII D and class VII A. The results showed that the learning outcomes of the experimental class students were better than the control class in terms of cognitive, psychomotor and affective aspects (discipline and cooperation attitude). The results of the cognitive and psychomotor aspects t-test results were respectively obtained tcount (0.05) = 4.63 and tcount (0.05) = 4.18 with ttable = 2.001 then tcount> ttable, meaning that there were significant differences in results cognitive and psychomotor learning of students between the experimental class with the control class. Results of student’ environmental care attitude in this research were not significant.

AbstrakKemampuan menulis adalah keterampilan menuangkan pikiran, pendapat, gagasan, dan juga perasaan dalam bentuk tulisan sehingga orang yang membaca dapat memahami isi dan pesan dapat tersampaikan dengan baik. Kemampuan menulis merupakan suatu keterampilan berbahasa yang harus dikuasi siswa dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan strategi POWERS terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi-Experimental design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan menulis dalam bentuk essay. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa: (1) hasil pretest t-hitung 1,723 < t-tabel 2,001atau H0 diterima yaitu terdapat perbedaan kemampuan menulis diantara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen, (2) hasil posttest thitung 2,622 > t-tabel 2,001 atau H1 diterima yaitu terdapat perbedaan kemampuan menulis diantara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen setelah menggunakan strategi POWERS. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi POWERS dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan siswa menulis essay dalam Bahasa Inggris. Writing ability is a language skill that students must master well. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the POWERS strategy on students' ability to write English. This research uses a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental design method. The instrument used in this study was an essay writing ability test. The results show that: (1) pretest results of t-test 1.723 t-table of 2,001 or H1 are accepted that is, there are differences in writing skills between the control class and the experimental class after using the POWERS strategy. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the POWERS strategy can affect students' ability to write essays in English. Keywords: POWERS Strategy, Writing Ability, English Learning

Abstract. Background: Studies have shown that postdischarge care for self-harm patients is effective in reducing repeated suicidal behaviors. Little is known about whether volunteer support can help reduce self-harm repetition and improve psychosocial well-being. Aim: This study investigated the efficacy of volunteer support in preventing repetition of self-harm. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design by assigning self-harm patients admitted to the emergency departments to an intervention group with volunteer support and treatment as usual (TAU) for 9 months and to a control group of TAU. Outcome measures include repetition of self-harm, suicidal ideation, hopelessness, and level of depressive and anxiety symptoms. Results: A total of 74 cases were recruited (38 participants; 36 controls). There were no significant differences in age, gender, and clinical condition between the two groups at the baseline. The intervention group showed significant improvements in hopelessness and depressive symptoms. However, the number of cases of suicide ideation and of repetition of self-harm episodes was similar for both groups at the postintervention period. Conclusion: Postdischarge care provided by volunteers showed significant improvement in hopelessness and depression. Volunteers have been commonly involved in suicide prevention services. Further research using rigorous methods is recommended for improving service quality in the long term.
