Nanotechnology is an emerging science field that in the years to come could have countless beneficial effects on every aspect of everyday life including animal farming. Recently, research in this sector has shown the potential for many different applications in Veterinary practice. In poultry farming in particular, various nanoparticles have been experimentally used for several purposes such as: alternative to antibiotics as growth promoters, as feed additives to enhance and improve the growth rate, performance, immunity, resistance to pathogens and increase the quality of meat. In laying hens, they can have a positive influence to both quantity and quality of eggs. Moreover, nanomaterials applied in embryonated chicken eggs can improve embryos development. The aim of this overview is to provide a description of potential nanotechnology applications for poultry sector and discuss any challenges or obstacles including the matters of safety of application of these nanomaterials in animals, in humans and of course in the environment.

Legislation to control veterinary medicinal products is undergoing continual development in the EEC and UK and therefore the risks are continually reassessed. In the present paper current and future legislation together with consumer concerns both real and imaginary are reviewed.Since the EEC ban on hormonal growth promoter implants in 1986 the remaining legal products are all feed additives. Registration of feed additives in the EEC is controlled under Directive 70/524 and its various amending directives. this directive is concerned with all products added to feed and mainly includes substances used to affect the quality of the feedstuff i.e., emulsifiers, stabilisers, antioxidants, colorants and binding agents and also vitamins and micronutrients. The majority of growth promoters exert their affects by antimicrobial activity and these and certain prophylactic medicinal products such as coccidiostats are also included. All products with a therapeutic action are controlled under the Veterinary Medicine Directives 81/851 and 81/852, quite separate legislation and under the responsibility of a different department within the EEC Coimdssion. However, there is provision under Directive 84/587 amending 70/524 to transfer the medicinal feed additives to 81/851 and 81/852.

Compound feed are subject to requirements for their composition, since they use several types of grains that contain anti-nutritive substances that reduce the digestibility and use of nutrients. One of the tasks of domestic poultry farming is to reduce losses by increasing the digestibility and accessibility of feed. Among the most effective ways to solve this problem is to add enzymes to the feed of poultry. The inclusion of enzyme drugs in the composition of compound feed contributes to the inactivation of anti-nutritive substances, which contributes to an increase in the coeffi cient of digestibility of nutrients. The purpose of the work was to establish the feasibility and eff ectiveness of the enrichment of compound feed used in the production technology of chicken eggs with mixtures of enzyme drugs of domestic production of Amylosubtilin G3x, Cellolux-F and Protosubtilin G3x. Three groups of laying hens with 57 heads in each have been formed: a control group and two experimental groups. The duration of the experiment was 420 days. Laying hens of the control group have been received farm compound feed depending on their age. Laying hens of the 1st experimental group have been received compound feed of the control group enriched with the enzymes Amylosubtilin G3x and Cellolux-F depending on the age. In the compound feed of laying hens of the 2nd experimental group enzyme drugs were additionally introduced depending on the age Amilosubtilin G3x and Protosubtilin G3x. Higher egg production rates have been observed in the 1st experimental group – 357,81 eggs, which was 6,48 % higher than in the control group and 1,84 % higher than in the 2nd experimental group. The weight of eggs of laying hens of the 1st experimental group was 1,85 g or 2,97 % more, and the 2nd experimental group was 0,7 g or 1,12 % more than in the control group. The diff erence between the egg weight in laying hens of the 1st and 2nd experimental groups was 1,85 % or 1,15 g. The lowest feed consumption of 1,37 kg for the production of 10 eggs was in the laying hens of the 1st experimental group, which was less than the indicator of the control group by 10,94 and by 4,2 % than in the 2nd experimental group.

The research has shown the positive influence of the liquid water-soluble combined-effect feed additive Reasil Humic Vet, which consists of a concentrated solution of high-molecular sodium salts of humic acids extracted from leonardite, on the growth vigor, preservation rate and the quality of carcasses of broilers, and confirmed the appropriateness of its use in broiler poultry farming.

Plant growth promoting microorganisms (PGPM) are an important group of microbial inoculants, which exist in rhizosphere and have the ability to inhabit the root of the plants and improve their development. Their positive influence is achieved through solubilization of phosphorus, nitrogen fixation, production of plant nutrients and phytohormones, protection from pathogens and recovery from stressful environmental conditions. This is the main reason for the increasing usage of many PGPMs which formulations are commonly known as microbial fertilizers. Microbial fertilizers represent an attractive replacement for chemical fertilizers that are polluting the environment. They are used to increase the crop yield in an eco-friendly way while relying on sustainable agriculture principles. The biggest problem nowadays is the very poor quality of such products, which results in the lack of confidence and makes commercialization much more difficult. In order to increase production and hence the commercialization of microbial fertilizers, desired quality and stability should be achieved. For this reason, many researches are done in this particular field. In order to develop an optimal product, it is important to know and understand the process, including the physiology of bacteria and plants, mass multiplication technological processes as well as the existing formulation and the specific effect on the desired plant. For this purpose, the aim of this review is to indicate the significance of microbial fertilizers and their beneficial effects on the plants, as well as to give a brief survey of the different aspects of production processes with a special emphasis on mass multiplication.

The positive influence of fertilizing `Red Roomy' grapevines with four biofertilizers (active dry yeast, phosphorene, rhizobacterium, and nitrobein) on berry set and productivity was investigated during 1995 and 1996. The improvement occurred in berry set and yield, as well as physical and chemical properties in vines treated with the four biofertilizers in the following ascending order: active dry yeast, nitrobein, rhizobacterium, and phosphorene. Highly significant differences in characters were observed between treated and untreated vines. The best results with regard to yield and quality of berries was obtained in `Red Roomy' vines biofertilized with phosphorene or rhizobacterium.

The purpose of this review is to summarize the effectiveness, modes of action and commercial application of herbal plants and their derivatives as growth promoters for animal. As described in literature, the increase in the growth of farming prices and feed costs for small ruminant in general, led to increases difficulties in production of livestock. To dissolve this issue, several studies concentrated on new alternative of feed resource, but others have tried to enrich milk products and meat by rising polyphenol compounds content to their by introductions of herbal plants in sheep and goat feed. Currently, consumers demand safety and the quality of feeding. Since antibiotics can be leave residues in ruminant tissues, that could induce subsequent emergence of resistant strains of microorganisms capable of endangering the health of livestock and human. This scenario has given the impetus to explore alternatives to antibiotics in animal nutrition. Consequently, as replacement for the synthetic growth promoter’s antibiotics, natural products like herbs and spice as natural feed additives come to the attention to enhance physiological functions. So, the use of feeds containing bioactive compounds such as thymol, flavonoids, saponins, limonene, thymoquinone, essential oils and others which concentrated in different parts, such as leaves, roots and seeds that can be used for these purpose in animal feed and responsible for the healthy animal product. Furthermore, one of the hot points in the advanced research is the stability of animal product against the oxidative deterioration process that limits the shelf life.

The high nutritional and dietary properties of chicken eggs, the high economic efficiency of their production have led to the rapid growth and development of commercial poultry farming throughout the world. In this regard, the purpose of the research was the veterinary-sanitary examination of edible chicken eggs sold in retail, with the basics of product quality assessment. The objects of research were food eggs of the first category of different manufacturers: “Chebarkul bird”, “Poultry farm named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR”, “Nagaybaksky poultry-farming complex”. The following indicators were studied: the quality of packaging and labeling, commercial properties, consumer characteristics, morphological features, shelf life, nutritional value, safety indicators. It was established that the quality of products from such manufacturers as “Chebarkul bird” and “Poultry farm named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR” in the veterinary and sanitary relations and in the framework of the commodity examination met the requirements of the “Rules for veterinary and sanitary examination of poultry eggs”, State Standard 31654 - 2012, Sanitary Rules and Regulations 2.3.2.1078-01, Technical Regulations of the Customs Union 021/2011 and 022/2011. Products supplied to the trading network “Nagaybaksky poultry complex” possessed the best consumer characteristics and commodity properties, but the labeling of chicken eggs of this manufacturer needs to be improved in accordance with the requirements of the State Standard 31654-2012.

The rapid expansion of nanotechnology has been transforming the food industry by increasing market share and expenditure. Although nanotechnology offers promising benefits as feed additives, their usage in equines is primarily geared toward immunotherapy, hyper-immunization techniques, drug delivery systems, grooming activities, and therapeutic purposes. Nanoparticles could be engaged as alternatives for antibiotic feed additives to prevent foal diarrhea. Gold nanoparticles are proved to provide beneficial effects for racehorses by healing joint and tendon injuries. Because of the poor bioavailability of micro-sized mineral salts, the usage of nano-minerals is highly encourageable to improve the performance of racehorses. Nano-Vitamin E and enzyme CoQ10 for equines are no longer a simple research topic because of the increased commercial availability. Employing nanotechnology-based preservatives may offer a promising alternative to other conventional preservatives in preserving the quality of equine feed items, even during an extended storage period. While nanoparticles as feed additives may provide multitudinous benefits on equines, they could elicit allergic or toxic responses in case of improper synthesis aids or inappropriate dosages. The safety of nano-feed additives remains uninvestigated and necessitates the additional risk assessment, especially during their usage for a prolonged period. To adopt nano-feed additives in horses, there is an extreme paucity of information regarding the validity of various levels or forms of nanoparticles. Further, the currently available toxicological database on the topic of nano-feed additives is not at all related to equines and even inadequate for other livestock species. This review aims to provide new insights into possible future research pertaining to the usage of nano-feed additives in equines.

Currently, many scientists have proven the positive influence of feed additives on the productivity of different types of farm animals including bees since feed additives have a positive effect on the honey productivity of bee colonies and the quality of queen bees. The purpose of our work was to identify the effect of probiotics on the background of the dietary supplement Eracond on the acceptance of larvae and the weight of infertile queens. The scientific and economic experiment has been carried out on bees of Bashkir breed in an apiary located in the village of Nekrasovka in the Kartalinsky district in the Chelyabinsk region. Three groups of queen-rearing colony have been formed three in each. In the 2nd and 3rd experimental groups against the background of dietary supplement Erakond (50 mg/ kg) have been given: in the 2nd experimental group sugar syrup with Lactobacterin three doses per family, in the 3rd experimental group sugar syrup with Vetom 1,1 at the dose of 50 mg/kg. As a result, all the additives in the 2nd and 3rd experimental groups gave a positive result. The greatest effect on all indicators has been obtained with the combined use of 50 % sugar syrup with the addition of Eracond phytopreparation (50 mg/kg) and Vetom 1,1 probiotic (50 mg/kg). Feeding these drugs to queen rearing colonies contributed to the increase in the acceptance of larvae by 23,3 %, compared with the control and by 7,8 % compared with the 2nd experimental group, also had the positive influence on the weight of infertile queens by 11,4 % compared with the control group. The use of Vetom and Eracond contributed to the increase in the egg production of queens by 64,2, 54,9 and 57,0 % compared with the control for three accounting periods as well as the increase in the honey collection by 33,83 % or 4,5 kg.

After Backyard Poultry farming enterprise a monthly income of every member of group is increased up-to Rs. 10500/- per youth per month as in addition to income from agriculture and other sources. This income was calculated on the basis of their yearly income. The consumers are getting healthy and pure chicken and eggs to consume. The farmer getting higher rate of products because of reducing mediator and transportation cost. This sets a good example to attract and retain of youth in agriculture at village level. This also enables youth to production of fresh chicken, eggs and good quality of manures from poultry farm.
