Candida albicans is a microorganism that knows as caused of candidiasis. Nocardia is known to have the ability to produce antifungal bioactive compounds to overcome cases of fungal infections. This research aims to determine the presence of antifungal activity and the good concentration from crude extract of Nocardia sp. ATS-4.1 to inhibit C. albicans InaCC-Y116 and. Antifungal activity test of isolate Nocardia sp. ATS-4.1 was performed using a well diffusion method on Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) media with a concentration of 92%, 94%, 96%, 98%, 100% and nystatin (positive control) 0,0125% and DMSO 10% (negative control) incubated at 37 ᵒC for 24-48 hours. The results showed that the extract of Nocardia sp. ATS-4.1 can inhibit the growth of C. albicans. Nocardia sp. ATS-4.1 isolate extract concentration of 96% with a resistance diameter of 13.63 ± 0.53 mm with a strong category against the growth of  C. albicans InaCC-Y116.

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) has been known as traditional medicine. Shallot which has same genus with garlic(Allium sativum L.) contains allicin that is also found in garlic and has been suspected has fungicidal activity toCandida albicans. It is supported by several researches. Therefore, shallot is suspected has antifungal activity too.The aim of this research was to know antifungal activity of shallot’s water extortion againsts Candida albicans invitro. This was a laboratory experimental research which used completely randomized design, with diffusion method.Shallot’s water extortion was devided into three concentrations, there were 50%, 100% and 200%. Ketoconazole 2%was positive control and aquadest was negative control. The result of this research based on analysis of varians(Anova), there was significant difference between several treatments and was confirmed with Duncan New MultipleRange Test (DNMRT) p<0,05, there was significant difference between 100% shallot’s water extortion with othertreatments, but there was no significant difference between 50% shallot’s water extortion with 200% shallot’s. Theconclusion was shallot’s water extortion had antifungal activity againsts Candida albicans with the best concentration100%, but it was lower than ketoconazole 2%.

Durian is a fruit that is in demand by the community, but during durian season environmental problems arise due to waste from skin of durian. The aimed of the study was to prove the antifungal activity of the ethanol fraction of durian skin against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Candida albicans and to determine the active active compounds inhibiting T. mentagrophytes and C. albicans fungi. Durian skin was extracted by maceration method, then fractionated used ethanol, chloroform, and n-hexane solvents. Ethanol fraction was tested on T. mentagrophytes and C. albicans fungi used the disc method with a concentration of 10%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%, distilled water as a negative control, ketoconazole as a positive control. The best inhibition zone is fungi T. mentagrophytes concentration 100% ( 9.23 mm) negative control (0 mm), positive control (32.96 mm), fungi C. albicans the best inhibition zone is concentration of 100% (8.30 mm), positive control (17.17 mm) negative controls (0 mm).The ethanol fraction was screened by the Thin Layer Chromatography method and positively contained flavonoids (rf 0.7), tannins (rf 0.58), saponins (rf 0.76) and alkaloids (rf 0.64). Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations of T. mentagrophytes were 7% and C. albicans were 8%. The most effective active compound growht of T. mentagrophytes is tannins (rf 0.7) and for C. albicans is flavonoid (rf 0.6). The ethanol fraction of durian bark extract has antifungal activity against T. mentagrophytes and C. albicans. Acne is a chronic inflammation of the pilosebaceous tissue caused by the bacterium Propionibacterium acne (P.acnes) which often experiences antibiotic resistance. Research on the benefits of herbal plants in dealing with acne is still needed, one of which is the use of Knobs flowers (Gomphrena globosa) which is easily found and has potential as an antioxidant and antibacterial. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the extract of the flower knob in inhibiting the growth of P.acnes bacteria. The design of this study was purely experimental with the Kirby-Bauer method using MHA (Mueller Hinton Agar) media. A positive control using clindamycin antibiotics and negative control using aquadest. The treatment group consisted of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% knob methanol extract with 3 replications. Data analysis using One Way ANOVA to find out the average difference between treatment groups. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the higher the concentration of the extract, the greater the inhibitory power as long as the extract had not reached saturated concentration (p <0.05). There is a decrease in the inhibition zone diameter at 100% concentration because it is influenced by the diffusion rate of a compound and other factors.

The aim of this research is to know the ability of meniran ethanol extract (Phyllanthus niruri L.) in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans. The research design is an experimental study. The extract used was herbal meniran extract made by maceration using 70% ethanol solvent, the content of ethanol extract of meniran tested against Candida albicans using disc diffusion method were 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. Activity test conducted on Sabaraound Dextrose agar media that has been smeared with Candida albicans culture which has been standardized with Mc Farland standard. The pre-tested disc paper is first dipped into the extract with various concentrations. Incubated at 30 ° C for 24 hours and the inhibit zone formed was measured. The result showed that herbal ethanol extract of meniran resulted in drag zone diameter at Candida albicans ie 8,5 mm; 10.3 mm; 12.6 mm; 14.1 mm and 14.3 mm, for negative control 0 mm and positive control 20.1 mm. Data obtained from the results of the study were analyzed using one way anova method showed p - value <0,05, it was concluded that there was significant difference between negative control, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and positive control.

The purpose of this study was to determine in vitro inhibition test of lime peel liquid (Citrus aurantifolia, Swingle) against E. coli. The E. coli isolate was cultured on Muller Hinton Agar (MHA) media. Antibacterial test in this study using diffusion method. Negative control (K-) using CMC-Na 0.1%. Positive control (K+) using oxytetracycline antibiotics. The treatments were given lime peel liquid (Citrus aurantifolia, Swingle) with concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%, respectively. The study design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, with six treatments and four repetitions. Data were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test, Moreover, the Post Hoc Mann-Whitney method. The inhibition zone analysis results were showed that K + had significant differences compared to all treatments K-, 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%. K- was found to be significantly different from treatments 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%. The results showed that the lime peel liquid has the potential as an antibacterial activity against the growth of E. coli in vitro. Concentration of 25% has shown the presence of inhibitory zones on Mueller Hinton media that have been inoculated with lime peel liquid.

Candida albicans and Cryptoccocus neoformans are opportunistic pathogenic fungi that cause infectious diseases that are the world's biggest health problems. The use of antibiotics is one way to overcome the spread of the infection and cause microbial resistance. Ganoderma is one of the many macrophages found on Lombok's island, and studies of its antifungal activity have not been carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the antifungal potential and the effect of different concentrations of ethanolic extracts of three Ganoderma species on C. albicans and C. neoformans. Ganoderma samples were obtained from Suranadi Taman Wisata Alam (TWA), Sesaot TWA, Tunak Mountain TWA, Kerandangan TWA, and Pusuk Forest. Ganoderma extraction was carried out by the maceration method using ethanol 95% solvent. The extract concentrations used are 20%, 40%, 60% and 80%. This research was conducted using the wells method with metronidazole as a positive control and 50% DMSO as a negative control. The parameter measured is the large diameter of the inhibition zone formed around the well. The results obtained are the three species of Ganoderma have antifungal activity against test fungi, and different levels of concentration affect inhibition. The amount of the inhibition zone is directly proportional to the high concentration of the extract. All three Ganoderma species are more effective in inhibiting the growth of C. neoformans compared with Candida albicans

Candida Albicans and Aspergillus Niger are some of the infectious fungi. Empirically bark, flower, root and mangrove leaves Rhizophora mucronata can be a hepatitis drug. This study aims to determine the antifungal potential of methanol extract of Rhizophora mucronata leaves to Candida Albicans and Aspergillus Niger fungus. Chemical test results that have been done previously are alkaloids, Flavanoid , triterpenoids, saponins, tannins and hydroquinone phenols. The antifungal test was performed by agar diffusion method on Potatos Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium and paper disc.Paper disc soaked in methanolic extract of Rhizophora mucronatapada leaf concentration 1000 ppm, 800 ppm, 600 ppm, 400 ppm and 200 ppm. The positive control solution used ketokenazole drug and negative control using aquades with incubation period of  3 x 24 hours. The results did not prove that Rhizophora mucronata leaf methanol extract was effective to inhibit antifungal activity against Candida Albicans and Aspergillus Niger fungi.

Celery (Apium graveolens L.) has been known as traditional medicine. Apigenin is one of active component in Celeryleaf that has fungicidal activity, so celery leaf’s extortion suspected has fungicidal activity to Candida albicans. Apigenincan solved in water. The aim of this research was to know antifungal activity of celery leaf’s extortion againsts Candidaalbicans in vitro.This is a laboratory experimental research by using completely randomized design and disc diffusion method. Celeryleaf’s extortion was divided into 3 concentrations, there were 25%, 50% and 100%. Ketoconazole 2% was used aspositive control and aquadest as negative control. The result of this research was based on analysis of variance, therewas significant difference between minimal 2 treatment (p=0.000) and confirmed with Post Hoc test, there were significantdifference in all treatments. As the conclusion, celery leaf’s extortion had antifungal activity againsts Candida albicansin vitro with the best concentration 50% but smaller than ketoconazole 2%.

The aim of this study is to investigate the Thymus vulgaris essential oil (TVEO) as an antifungal agent in aromatherapy and/or as an active ingredient in the prevention or management of topical inflammatory diseases. The chemical composition of TVEO was determined with gas chromatography and revealed the presence of 25 compounds. Carvacrol was found to be the major component (56.8%). Antifungal action of TVEO was determined in vitro by using different methods. By the disc diffusion method, TVEO showed more potent antifungal activity against Candida strains than the positive control. The diameter of inhibition zone (DIZ) varied from 34 to 60 mm for Candida yeasts. Significantly higher antifungal activity was observed in the vapor phase at lower quantities. Candida albicans and C. parapsilosis were the most susceptible strains to the oil vapor with DIZ varying from 35 to 90 mm. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of yeast were determined with an agar dilution method and revealed that MIC varied from 0.3 to 0.15 µL/mL for yeast species. The topical anti-inflammatory potential of TVEO was also explored in vivo with the croton oil-induced ear edema assay. TVEO exhibited a potent anti-inflammatory effect at all doses (100, 10 and 2 mg/kg), which were statistically similar (p > 0.05) to the positive control. This activity was also confirmed at the cellular level with histopathology analysis. Our results suggest the potential application of this carvacrol-rich TVEO in the prevention and management of fungal infections and topical inflammation and deserve further investigation for clinical applications. Furthermore, while the mode of action remains mainly undetermined and should be studied.

Fungal infections have now become serious health issues. One of the strategies to avoid the problems of fungal infections is by using natural product from plants that are effective against many human pathogenic fungi. The study portrayed the use of the extracts of plant rhizomes as the alternatives to fight against number of human pathogenic fungi. This research aimed to investigate the antifungal activities of crude ethanol extract of five member of the family Zingiberaceae (Curcuma longa, Alpinia galanga Zingiber officinale. var. rubrum, Zingiber officinale var. officinarum and Zingiber officinale var. amarum), which are widely used as folk medicines against Candida albicans and Trichophyton rubrum. Crude ethanol extracts of five members of Zingiberaceae were evaluated for their antifungal activities and the results were calculated based on the zones of inhibition using the diffusion method. The extract showed antifungal activity against Candida. albicans in the agar well diffusion assay (10.2-27.1 mm inhibition diameter) and against T. rubrum (27.3-44.3 mm inhibition diameter). The data have revealed that all rhizomes have the potential to be developed as antifungal agents, particularly against C. albicans and T. rubrum. Studies on the antifungal activity against yeast-like (C. albicans) and filamentous (T. rubrum) can provide new information about the benefits of members Zingiberaceae as a source of natural antifungal. Researchers can select the type of rhizome that has more potential for further extraction to obtain pure compounds that can be used as antifungals.
