This paper's aim is to describe the strategy to improve the ability to think at a higher level for children currently in primary education. Children currently in primary education are children who are in the Alpha generation. This generation is certainly different from previous generations, especially in access to information. Even children holding a device in daily life is not a strange sight. This fact needs to be examined more about the balance in the speed of obtaining information and managing it. The more accessible access to information is, the expectation is children have a good filter for news or information that is classified as reasonable and vice versa, namely information that is classified as not making sense. The ability to filter this information is not easily obtained by every child. In other words, children need a stimulus to be able to think at a high level. The goal is that when children can think at a high level, then that ability is used as a weapon to gain the ability to filter information. In this paper, the focus of discussion is a strategy that should be taught by adults around the children to be able to be wiser in managing information. This research applies a qualitative approach with a literature study. The finding is the ability for the children to think at a higher level can improve with learning through contextual problems. This contextual problem is obtained from daily activities carried out by children

The quality of primary education in Indonesia in the last two decades has not changed much. One of the reasons for this condition is that learning at the elementary school/ madrasah level of madrasah has not yet developed high-level thinking skills. Therefore, starting in 2013, the government changed the primary education curriculum by presenting the 2013 curriculum. One of the substantial changes is that subjects are presented thematically for elementary schools/ madrasah ibtidaiyah. The curriculum change also gave birth to thematic textbooks, no longer subject-based textbooks. This study aims to describe what high-level thinking skills are developed through thematic books for students and how to design learning to grow these thinking skills in thematic books for teachers. This research applies a qualitative approach to the design of library studies. The primary source of this study is a thematic book for students and teachers in low grades, grades 1-3. Analysis of the data of this research through three stages, namely data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. This study found that students' thematic books present higher-order thinking skills at the C4-C6 level referring to the revised Bloom's taxonomy. Student thematic books also present material to foster the ability to reason, think critically / creatively, and reasoning abilities. Meanwhile, the design of learning in the teacher's thematic books to promote higher-order thinking skills uses a scientific learning approach and is student-centred.

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a competency that must be achieved by students as stated in the 2013 curriculum. Indirectly, Unimed - LPTK which will create graduates to become teachers has a central role in realizing students who have such high-level thinking skills. Previously, when becoming a student at Unimed, high-level thinking skills of students had to be honed and improved continuously so that when becoming a teacher, Unimed graduates were able to train students to think high-level through HOTS-oriented questions. This study aims to: 1) Describe the relevance of the semester final exam questions compiled by the lecturer on the measurement of high-level thinking skills of Indonesian Language and Literature Department students, FBS Unimed, 2) Describe the relevance of teaching materials used by students to improve higher-order thinking skills, and 3) Developing a HOTS-oriented Indonesian language and literature learning assessment course module at Unimed FBS Language and Literature Department. This study uses a research and development (R & D) approach. The stages that will be carried out in this study include: defining, design, develop, and disseminate. One of the essences of curriculum implementation in 2013 is the application of high-level thinking skills-rotating learning ( Higher Order Thingking Sklills,HOTS). HOTS-oriented learning requires students to carry out active learning. Therefore, the teacher must be able to create active learning by presenting one of the teaching materials in the form of Student Worksheets (LKS). The results of observations show that the LKS used in public high schools in North Sumatra is still diverse, starting from the LKS made by the subject teachers and issued by the publisher. All of these LKS have also not been identified whether they already contain HOTS components in them. therefore, a component analysis research was conducted higher Order thinking skills (HOTS) on the material presentation Physics worksheets class X semester II at SMAN throughout West Sumatra. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The population of data in this study were all worksheets for high school physics students of class X semester II used by 34 public high schools in West Sumatra. The sample in this study is the highest number of SMA class X semester II physics worksheets used in schools published by three different publishers and two worksheets made by physics subject teachers. The research data were taken using the analysis instrument of LKS offerings and data collection techniques through documentation studies.Based on the research that has been carried out, it is found that the percentage of availability of HOT indicators in the form of decision making, critical thinking and creative thinking in each worksheet is as follows. LKS F X/II RZ-GR percentage of indicator availability LKS / IIX percentage availability of HOTS indicators respectively, namely, 23,34% ; 0,%; 35,52%; 22,88%. LKS D X/II RC-IP, 44,66%;25,74%; 44,42%;40,04%. LKS F X/II BK-VP , 16,86%; 8,58% ; 28,86%; 2,86 %.LKS F X/II G I, 21,66%; 2,86%;35,52%; 5,72% and LKS F X/II GII, 28,31%; 11,44%; 33,3% ;17,16%. From the entire LKS F X/II RC-IP Has the highest percentage indicator. From this data, it can be concluded that the percentage of availability of HOTS indicators in the presentation of the contents of the Class X Semester II Physics Worksheets at Senior High Schools throughout West Sumatra is still low, with the category not yet facilitating. Keywords : Analysis, worksheet, High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS).

The purpose of this research is to survey the reaction of Malay Language teachers in normal primary schools towards the application of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) from the aspect of execution of HOTS in essay writing, confidence in delivery, difficulties experienced during delivery, the level used during delivery and the steps taken to overcome said problems after the teaching process of essay writing. Two male and female teachers teaching at a school in the district of Petaling Jaya were involved as participants in this research. This research was carried out using qualitative methods i.e. the case study and findings were elicit through conversation. Using conversation, the findings of the research show that the main method used by the participants in the application of HOTS were I-Think maps, Question & Answer (Q&A) sessions and high level difficulty questions. Meanwhile, the least used methods were brainstorming and project-based discussions. The participants of the research also displayed high level confidence in the usage of HOTS, but some problems did arise caused by varied intelligence of the students in a certain class causing some disturbance. The problem could be overcame by diversifying methods in delivering HOTS during teaching essay writing. Through this research also, it is found that the teachers use different standards between weak and excellent students, depending on the level of maturity in thinking. This research is significant in order to increase the application of higher order thinking skills in teaching Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) level essays by Bahasa Melayu teachers.
