(Title: Use of Illocutionary Particle in Japanese Language). The purpose of this study is to explain the use of illocutionary particles ne and yo, the pragmatic meaning generated from a speech and how the influence of the existence of each of these particles in a speech. Because ne and yo are pragmatic rather than semantic and this nature only occurs in verbal interactions, this article takes data from data sources, such as Japanese dramas and Japanese short stories. The data was collected using the observation method through recording and note-taking techniques, and then analyzed using contextual method.From the results of data analysis it was found that ne particles are used when  a) request confirmation or ensure information, b) request or seek agreement, c) soften speech, and d) marking the feelings felt by the speaker. While yo particles are used when  : a) confirming the question to get a response or reason, b) marking that information (statement) is something new for the listerner, c) emphasizing or affirming a matter/action intended by the speaker in his speech, d) marking speech means encouraging, e) marking utterances that contain expressions of the feeling of the speaker, and f) marking the urge to take action.

Comparative adjectives of Kangean Dialect of Madurese Language (KDML) are the basic adjectives that has A+D+(-an) stucture or lebbi. This study explored the function of comparative adjectives in KDML and its impact for the Kangean community. The theories used to explore and determine the comparative adjective function are descriptive and pragmatic theories. The research is a qualitative research. The method used in this research is the participatory observation method. The data were obtained from interviews with the dialect speakers by voice recording and field note-taking. Besides, researchers used the introspectiveve method (reflective-introspection method). The data that has been collected were transcribed into written form of orthographic transcription, then translated and classified according to its function. The method applied for analyzing the data are equivalent and distributional method. Meanwhile, the methods used for displaying the results of data analysis are informal and formal steps. The results showed that in KDML, there are several functions of comparative adjectives, namely to motivate, praise, admonish, command, insinuate, advise, criticize and accuse. Meanwhile, the impact of adjective utterances, people become more optimistic, comfortable, easy to appreciate, entertained, strong, cautious, deterred, and humble. Adjektiva komparatif bahasa Madura dialek Kangean (BMDK) merupakan adjektiva dasar yang memiliki struktur A+D+(-an) atau lebbi. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi fungsi adjektiva komparatif dalam BMDK dan dampaknya bagi komunitas Kangean. Teori yang digunakan untuk menggali dan menentukan fungsi adjektiva komparatif adalah teori deskriptif dan pragmatik. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode observasi partisipatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan penutur dialek Kangean melalui rekaman dan catatan lapangan. Selain itu, peneliti menggunakan metode introspektif (metode reflektif-introspekturis). Data yang sudah terkumpul ditranskrip ke dalam bentuk tulisan dengan transkripsi ortografis, kemudian diterjemahkan dan diklasifikasikan sesuai fungsinya. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah metode ekuivalen dan metode agih dan metode yang digunakan untuk menampilkan hasil analisis data adalah langkah-langkah formal dan nonformal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam BMDK terdapat beberapa fungsi adjektiva komparatif yakni untuk memotivasi, memuji, menegur, memerintah, menyindir, menasihati, mencela dan menuduh. Sedangkan dampaknya adalah masyarakat lebih optimis, peka, mudah menghargai, terhibur, kuat, berhati-hati, jera, dan rendah diri.

This article focuses in analyzing the semantic structure of ‘go up’ verb in Japanese language. The data was collected from newspaper article from website asahi.com by observation method and note-taking techniques. The data was analyzed using distribution method. Distribution method was used to analyze semantic structure by using Natural Semantic Metalanguage (NSM) theory developed by Goddard and Wierzbicka (2014). The results shows that ‘go up’ verb in Japanese Language consists of verb noru, noboru, and agaru. Each verb had distinctive features that differentiate one verb to the others.

Konjungsi merupakan kelas kata yang ada pada setiap bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan perilaku sintaksis konjungsi koordinatif bahasa Jepang. Perilaku sintaksis tersebut meliputi fungsi konjungsi, letak struktural konjungsi, dan sifat kehadiran konjungsi. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu Biografi Hellen Keller, Esai Read Real Japanese, dan kumpulan Cerpen DonDon Yomeru IriIro Na Hanashi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Dalam menganalisis data peneliti menggunakan metode padan translasional untuk pemindahan arti dari bahasa Jepang ke bahasa Indonesia. Untuk menganalisis  fungsi konjungsi, letak struktural konjungsi, dan sifat kehadiran konjungsi peneliti menggunakan metode distribusional beserta tekniknnya. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa fungsi konjungsi koordinatif bahasa Jepang yaitu menghubungkan kata dengan kata yaitu konjungsi to dan konjungsi ya, dan menghubungkan klausa dengan kluasa yaitu konjungsi ga dan konjungsi -shi. Letak struktural konjungsi koordinatif bahasa Jepang  yaitu berada di antara unsur yang digabungkan. Sementara itu, sifat kehadiran konjungsi di dalam konstruksi adalah wajib dan tidak dapat dilesapkan.  Conjunction is a class of words that exist in every language. This study aims to describe the syntactic behavior of Japanese coordinating conjunctions. The syntactic behavior includes the function of the conjunction, the structural location of the conjunction, and the presence of the conjunction. The data sources of this research are Hellen Keller Biography, Real Japanese Read Essays, and a collection of Dondon Yomeru Hanashi short stories. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. In analyzing the data the researcher applies the translational equivalent method for the transfer of meaning from Japanese to Indonesian. To analyze the function of the conjunction, the structural location of the conjunction, and the nature of the presence of the conjunction, the researcher uses the distributional method and its technique. The results of data analysis show that the coordinating conjunctions of Japanese are linking words to words, namely conjunctions to and conjunctions ya and linking clauses with clauses, which is conjunctions ga and conjunctions -shi. The structural position of Japanese coordinating conjunctions is among the elements combined. Meanwhile, the presence of conjunctions in construction is mandatory and cannot be mitigated.

This research aimed to describe the process of transformation on german subordinate compound sentences. The method used in this research was descriptive. The data  sources were the subordinate compound sentences contained within the Deutschland magazine in editions of 2005-2010. The samples were 6 sentences. The data were collected through an observation method with note taking technique. Data were analyzed using the distributional method. The results show that the transforming process of the german subordinate compound sentences consisted of obligatory transformation rules namely  addition (subordinate conjunction and coma), permutation (verb)  and substitution (pronominalisation).

Hikikomori is one of the most common social problems in Japan. This research's object is the anime series NHK ni Youkoso !, with 24 episodes, which premiered from July to December 2006. The author uses the observation method of note-taking techniques to collect data, and the data analysis is written descriptively. The results of this study contained 11 forms of Hikikomori behaviour in the anime that the author studied, namely: hikikomori perpetrators confined themselves for more than six months, refused to interact with other people, refused to go to school, refused to leave the room, experienced hallucinations, experienced insomnia, professional setbacks, have thoughts of persecution, have feelings of depression, desire death and suicidal thoughts, and are addicted to alcohol. Meanwhile, the factors causing hikikomori behaviour are amae and the inability to accept intervention from others.

This research is entitled “Geguritan Ni Sumala: Philological Studies”. Assessment of Geguritan Ni Sumala uses philological theory. This study aims to obtain the text of Geguritan Ni Sumala which approaaches the original. The data supply phase uses the observation method and simak method helped by note taking technique. Next, in data analysis phase using comparative descriptive method, transliteration uses standard transliteration method, following by a comparation of three texts through text criticism, text edition using the legger method, the translation uses combination literal translation and idiomatic translation. In the stage of presenting the result of data analysis using formal and informal method by deductive-inductive tecnique also assisted by exposure, tables, and themes. The text edition is complemented by criticism apparatus which is presented separately and translation is also presented separately with the source text. The result of this study are, from the three of GNS manuscripts that have been compared through text criticism there are some copy/write errors from each text such as substitution, adition, omission, lakuna, interpolation, ditography, transposition, and corrupt. By correcting the copy error presented Geguritan Ni Sumala text which assumed to be correct based on the evidence three of contained manuscripts. Geguritan Ni Sumala uses Balinese Kawi language. Next in text edition for literacy guidelines used are Acri and Griffiths opinions (2014: 371-372) and combined with Damais opinions (1995: 125). aside from that, the spelling used in text edition are spelling guidelines for Balinese script pairs with Latin letters and Balinese letters also guidelines Pasang Aksara Bali. Indonesian translations are also included in the Geguritan Ni Sumala text.

This study aims, (1) to analyze and describe student responses through the determination of themes and characterizations in the Asa and Forest Kalimantan short stories. Secondly, analyzing and describing environmental phenomena in the short story through student responses according to Garrard's concept. The theory used in this study is Greg Garrard's (2004) ecocritical theory. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population is 247 students. The samples were 28 students. Sampling is done by a purposive method. Research data sources, namely (1) short stories are downloaded via the web https://www.scribd.com, (2) questionnaires containing student responses. The research data is the students' responses according to the questionnaire given. Data collection is done through a questionnaire, read, and note down techniques. The validity of the data is done through the triangulation of theories and sources. Data analysis is carried out in stages: (a) reduction; (b) presentation; (c) the conclusion; and (d) verification of results. The results of this study indicate (1) Themes and characterizations. The theme of the Asa and Forest Kalimantan short stories is the theme of protection/preservation of the forest, the theme of animal hunting, and varied themes. Characterization, which is played by Asa figures who have never done damage to the forests of Kalimantan and Asa figures use nature as needed. In other words, the character of Asa has the character of ‘protect’ and is not greedy to nature; (2) environmental phenomena discovered through student responses are animal phenomena, namely natural destruction due to the hunting of Bornean Orang Utans.

Social society and socio-culture cannot be separated from each other. Therefore, literature was born as a product of society and culture. From these literary works, literary teaching materials with social and cultural background can be made. This study explains the social identity and local wisdom contained in the collection of Celurit Hujan Panas short stories by Zainul Muttaqin. In this study, the method used is the quality desriptive method. The data used comes from quotes on a collection of short stories of Celurit Hujan Panas. This research used listening and note-taking techniques. Research data analysis started from presenting the data, reducing the data, and analyzing conclusions. The results of this study show that the social identity contained in the story are namely (1) social structure, (2) social behavior, and (3) ontological definitions. Moreover, the values of local wisdom contained in the story are (1) culture, (2) beliefs, and (3) social values. Sosial masyarakat dan sosial budaya tidak bisa dipisahkan satu sama lain. Karena itulah, sastra lahir sebagai produk dari sosial dan budaya. Dari karya sastra tersebut, dapat dibuat bahan ajar sastra berlatar sosial dan budaya. Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang identitas sosial dan kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam kumpulan cerpen Celurit Hujan Panas karya Zainul Muttaqin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deksriptif kualititatif. Data yang digunakan berasal dari kutipan pada kumpulan cerpen Celurit Hujan Panas. Penelitian menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Analisis data penelitian dimulai dari menyajikan data, mereduksi data, dan kesimpulan analisis. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa identitas sosial yang terkandung yaitu (1) struktur sosial, (2) tingkah laku sosial, dan (3) definisi ontologis. Nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung adalah (1) nilai budaya, (2) kepercayaan, dan (3) nilai sosial.

Superlative adjectives of Madura Kangean Dialect (MKD) are  repetitive adjectives that has R+D+(-an) structure or paleng. Superlative adjectives in MKD are used to describe different functions of utterances according to the contexts. The native people of Kangean island possess a distinctive dialect called Kangean dialect. This study explored the functions of superlative adjectives in MDK. Theories used to determine the functions of superlative adjectives in this research are descriptive and pragmatic theory. This study employed participatory observation method. The data were obtained from interviews with the dialect speakers by voice recording and field note -taking. In addition, the researchers also used reflective-introspective method. The collected data were then transcribed into written form of orthographic transcription. The method applied for analyzing the data are equivalent and distributional method. Meanwhile, the methods used for displaying the results of data analysis are informal and formal steps. The results of this study indicate that superlative adjectives of MKD have different functions, such as for giving motivation, praise, reprimand, satire, advice, orders, blemishes and accusations.

Many companies have their website contents translated into languages spoken by many people globally. Here, translation plays an important role in making people who speak different languages know and understand more about certain products, services, terms and conditions, and also as a part of sales and marketing strategies.           The data in the form of sentences containing terminologies in SL (English) and their translations in TL (Indonesian) were collected from Booking.com and Expedia.co.id using the observation method and the note-taking technique. The results showed that the types of terminologies analyzed in this study based on the data sources are: 1) power words; 2) hospitality terms; 3) Internet terms; and 4) legal terms. The translation procedures used in translating the selected terminologies vary greatly, namely transference, literal, naturalization, synonymy, couplet, shift, componential analysis, reduction, and expansion.  Keywords: terminologies, localization, booking websites
