This study discusses the phenomenon of fujoshi, a popular culture from Japan. Fujoshi is a woman's passion for manga or comics genre boys love, where the manga tells the story of the love relationship between men. This research was conducted using a qualitative research method with a virtual ethnography method approach, where the researcher traced twitter accounts that were actively uploading about the manga boys love. This study tries to describe how the identity of fujoshi is formed which shows the manga boys love fondness on social media, especially in twitter. The result of this study is that fujoshi still be considered as an abnormality and also considered to violate the norms of the society. However, social media is able to provide space for free expression to show the identity of their preferences without getting any social sanctions. Social media also builds the fujoshi identity which was initially considered a deviation, has now been accepted and spawned more works and formed a community that has the same passion for manga boys love that is bigger than before.

This study describes the Javanese language used by the presenters when bringing a wedding ceremony in the Sidoarjo area. Organizers have many variations of the language used at weddings with Javanese customs. The research method uses a qualitative research method approach where this research is in the Tambak Kemerakan village area, Krian sub-district, Sidoarjo district. The time of the research was carried out from May to July 2021. The data collection techniques in the study were in the form of documents, interviews and observations. The research instrument used a mobile phone and a list of questions to the presenters. The results of the study show that the use of language includes language variations, language variations based on lecturing functions, language variations in terms of formality using official language. Code switching in this study is an analysis of the language used when hosting weddings. And the occurrence of language code mixing in the form of Javanese krama alus switching to Indonesian and language interference in its morphological and phonological use.

Social media is no longer a taboo for Indonesian people, young and old all using social media, for example, Instagram. Instagram users have reached 56 millions and become the fourth largest country in the world beat Russia, Turkey, Japan, and United Kingdom (according to cuponation.co.id april 2019 sources). The writing of this article aims to describe the form of utilization from the Instagram account @ruang_bimbingan_konseling. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research method with uses data in the form of words and produces descriptions in the form of words. The results of this study show Instagram can be a medium for informing all information about guidance and counseling in the form of photos and videos. Instagram can be a solution in overcoming the lack of information about guidance and counseling, which raises the stigma to the public about guidance and counseling is the school police or just dealing with bad boys.

The Philippine news media is perceived to be the freest in Asia. However, it also has its faults which its audiences have noticed. This study was aimed at exploring the factors which have lead to the audience’s dissent and subsequent emergence of an online anti-media movement. A qualitative research method was utilized where in social media posts and websites were analyzed with the Agenda Setting Theory to explain the frames being made by the mainstream and anti-media. The results showed factors such as the internet and its tools in creating a new virtual community.

Instagram social media is a unique medium because through this media not only communicating by sharing photos, but also penetrating into videos that everyone can get various videos that inform various kinds of actifities or routines that are carried out. The use of instagram also occurs among the community in the city of Bengkulu, precisely Sanggar Arastra community, thus encouraging members to play Instagram. The purpose of this study is to find out the motives of social media users to upload instagram story. This study uses a qualitative research method with a qualitative descriptive approach and this study uses the motive theory by Papacharissi and Rubin (2017), which consist of several motives, utility motives and motives seeking information. This research was conducted with data collection techniques through interview, observation and documentation study. The subjects in this study were five members of Sanggar Arastra owning an Android or iOS cellphone with an application and an Instagram account, they actively play Instagram and like ti upload photos, videoa and texts on the Instagram Story. The results of thie study indicate that the motives of members of Sanggar Arastra in uploading photos, videos nd texts in Instagram story are convenience motives, entertainment motives, passing time motives to follow current trends. Of all the motives, there is the most dominant motive, namely Convenience Motives because what they upload on Instagram stories is a form of expressing themselves, a place to express feelings in the form of photos, videoa and texts. Their uploads form a good image in order to get the desired recognition.

Comics are increasingly being used as a means of doing business in today's era. Many companies, business entities and individuals do business through online media. The use of comics as a promotional medium in this digital era, of course, must pay attention to the advantages of using comics as a means of digital business. This study was conducted to determine the use of digital comics as a means of digital business on Instagram social media. The qualitative research method is carried out in an inductive way, namely examining the characteristics of each part in Digital Comics that is used as a Digital Business. The use of digital comics as a means of digital business is also a good choice, because by using digital comics the content will become more interesting because in the digital comics, illustrations and text balloons can be applied. Not only as an added attraction, but illustrations and text balloons can also be used as a means of delivering information in digital business activities.

This research aims to discuss a public response to education and prevention of COVID-19 on social media Instagram @satgascovididijatim and to discuss the effectiveness of media social Instagram as a medium for conveying information to the public. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection by observations, interviews, and documentation. There are two points to these research results. First, the Indonesian Doctor’s Association (IDI) of East Java conducts education and prevention of COVID-19 through the @satgascovidiidijatim Instagram account to the whole community especially the East Java community, to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus. Secondly, the community gives a response that is response cognitive, affective, and behavioral. This response states that Instagram account @satgascovididijatim is one of the effective media for delivering massage education and prevention COVID-19 to the public through social media Instagram.

The students are generally inseparable from liking popular culture to become a fan  and finally become their identity. In addition to favoring Western culture, there have also been other great cultures lately, for example Japanese, Korea, Thailand and so on. This study aims to examine whether with cross cultural knowledge students are expected to be more confident in speaking and reducing talking anxiety. This research method is descriptive qualitative research method. The data in this study were obtained from interviews and questionnaires adapted from Horwitz's "Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS)" and Oregon University's "Value Rubric Intercultural Knowledge". It was found that the cause of speaking anxiety was 79% internal factor, 85% lack of knowledge and 30% faculty and friend factor. The result of the research found that the correlation between cultural understanding is closely related to the decreasing of students' anxiety level in speaking english. It can be concluded that CCU does help in overcoming students speaking anxiety.Keywords :cross cultural understanding, speaking, anxiety

In the 2019 general election, social media became an important part in building a political image as well as a channel for political communication. One of the opposition movements against the incumbent was the #2019GantiPresiden movement. The movement was a channel of political communication for people who personally wanted to have a new president. This study aimed to reveal how the #2019GantiPresiden political communication movement during 2018 and the repressive treatment experienced by them. This study used a qualitative research method of text analysis of several online media such as Twitter and micro-blogging. The results showed that the #2019GantiPresiden movement was an organic and voluntary based political communication movement. The spread of this movement was increasingly massive with the support of social media in the form of Twitter in building mass political support.

This study aims to determine the psychological effect of rural community communication on social media Facebook and to find out what are the research criteria for rural communities in choosing social media. The time of the research was carried out from December 2, 2021 – December 10, 2021. The theories that support this research include: Media, Social Media, Facebook, and Village Community. After the campaign, the candidates had chosen did the programs for Jakarta as a place where they want to be. Anies Baswedan got believes from society so they are won the voters. The objective of this study is to reveal what Anies’s purpose in his speech. This study helps politician and linguist to understand and know about the meaning of Anies Baswedaan’s speech. In this study,the researcher talks about the controversial Anies’s speech which said “Pribumi” to Indonesian. Why Anies’s speech becomes a controversial on youtube?? Because half of netizens disagree to Anies statement and they said in youtube’s column comment. But half of the netizen don’t care about Anies’s speech calls Indonesian “pribumi”, there is no problem for them. This study applies qualitative research method approach. The data taken from YouTube as a main data collection. The data consists of Anies speech campaign video with 22 minutes duration, but researcher only takes in the duration 4.48 minutes. When writer analyzing the data, Researcher uses Speech Act Theory, which is proposed by John Searle.The end of this study, the researcher found that Anies mostly use representative speech act in his campaign speech. Since the representative speech act deals with the speaker’s belief, Anies believes there must be some improvements for Jakarta by using representatives act in his speech.
