PHILIA AS FRIENDSHIP IN NICHOLAS SPARKS’ NOVEL THE LONGEST RIDE

This study is aimed at analyzing Philia as friendship in Nicholas Sparks’ novel, The Longest Ride, published in 2013. The analysis is focused on the categories of Philia as friendship covering utility, happiness, and moral done by the major characters of the novel, namely Ira Levinson, Ruth, Luke Collins, Sophian Danko. The method used to analyze this study is a descriptive qualitative method. In this study, the researchers apply the theory of philia as friendship proposed by Aristotle. Philia is one type feeling of love in the Christian and Greek traditions based on friendly relations. Other types of love that are also in Christian theology are eros, agape and storage. The results show that the categories of Philia as friendship: utility, happiness and moral are reflected and done by the major characters. Utility is seen from Ira and Ruth with strong and healthy love relationship. Happiness is seen through Ira and Ruth who always feels happy when they see each other. Moral can be seen through the trust of Ira and Ruth who always share each and everything together.

Gejolak Fujoshi Dalam Media Sosial (Peran Media Twitter Dalam Pembentukan Identitas Kelompok Fujoshi)

This study discusses the phenomenon of fujoshi, a popular culture from Japan. Fujoshi is a woman's passion for manga or comics genre boys love, where the manga tells the story of the love relationship between men. This research was conducted using a qualitative research method with a virtual ethnography method approach, where the researcher traced twitter accounts that were actively uploading about the manga boys love. This study tries to describe how the identity of fujoshi is formed which shows the manga boys love fondness on social media, especially in twitter. The result of this study is that fujoshi still be considered as an abnormality and also considered to violate the norms of the society. However, social media is able to provide space for free expression to show the identity of their preferences without getting any social sanctions. Social media also builds the fujoshi identity which was initially considered a deviation, has now been accepted and spawned more works and formed a community that has the same passion for manga boys love that is bigger than before.

Gambaran Karakteristik Ibu yang Melakukan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini di PMB Anik Mupidah,Amd.Keb Desa Gelang Kulon Kecamatan Sampung Kabupaten Ponorogo

One of the efforts to increase the success rate of breastfeeding is by implementing an early breastfeeding program (IMD) for newborns to their mothers. The benefits of breastfeeding in early childhood include: reducing infant mortality due to hypothermia, the baby will get colostrum which is rich in antibodies needed for intestinal growth and fighting infection. Meanwhile for mothers, the love relationship between mother and baby is very good, it will stimulate the release of oxytocin, reduce the risk of bleeding and accelerate the release of the placenta. In Ponorogo Regency in 2019, 88.72% carried out IMD. Many mothers who give birth at midwife Anik's place do IMD on their newborns. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the characteristics of mothers who perform IMD at PMB Anik Mupidah, Amd.Keb. This type of research is a descriptive correlative study with a retrospective time approach (backward looking). The population was all mothers who gave birth to IMD at PMB Anik Mupidah, Amd.Keb from January to November 2020. A sample of 39 mothers gave birth using a total sampling technique with frequency distribution data processing. The results showed that from 39 mothers who gave birth to IMD, most of them were aged 20-35 years 31 (79.5%), multiparous 23 (59.0%), not working 21 (53.8%), middle / high school 19 (48 , 7%). ABSTRAK Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan angka keberhasilan pemberian ASI adalah dengan pelaksanaan program pemberian ASI dini (IMD) pada bayi baru lahir kepada ibunya. Manfaat menyusui pada bayi usia dini antara lain adalah mengurangi kematian bayi akibat hipotermia, bayi akan mendapatkan kolostrum yang kaya antibodi yang diperlukan untuk pertumbuhan usus dan melawan infeksi. Sementara bagi para ibu hubungan cinta ibu dan bayi sangat baik , akan merangsang pelepasan oksitosin., mengurangi resiko perdarahan dan mempercepat pelepasan plasenta. Di Kabupaten Ponorogo pada tahun 2019 sebesar 88,72% yang melakukan IMD. Ibu yang bersalin di tempat Bidan Anik banyak ibu yang melakukan IMD pada bayi baru lahir. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana gambaran karakteristik ibu yang melakukan IMD di PMB Anik Mupidah,Amd.Keb. Penelitian menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif (backward looking). Populasi yaitu seluruh ibu bersalin yang melakukan IMD di PMB Anik Mupidah,Amd.Keb dari bulan Januari-November 2020. Sampel sebanyak 39 ibu bersalin dengan teknik sampel menggunakan total sampling. Pengolahan data dengan menggunakan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 39 ibu bersalin yang melakukan IMD sebagian besar umur20-35 tahun 31 (79,5%), multipara 23 (59,0%), tidak bekerja 21 (53,8%), menengah/SMA 19 (48,7%).

UNLAWFUL ARREST AND UNLAWFUL DETENTION: SEPARATE GROUNDS OF ACTION AND PUNITIVE DAMAGES Mvu v Minister of Safety and Security 2009 6 SA 82 (GSJ)

In Mvu v Minister of Safety and Security the plaintiff, an inspector in the South African Police Service was arrested without a warrant for malicious damage to property (his 15-year old daughters’ cellphones). It transpired that the plaintiff, while on police business in Gauteng, visited his daughters. He became enraged when he discovered that they had received cellphones by way of a “love relationship”, whereupon he took the cellphones and threw them to the ground, seriously damaging them. The daughters went to apolice station and laid a charge against the plaintiff for malicious damage to property. The police officer seized with the matter telephoned the plaintiff who immediately travelled to meet him. Upon arrival he arrested the plaintiff and imprisoned him overnight with six other men and set him free the following afternoon on warning. When the matter eventually came to court, the plaintiff was discharged at the end of the state’s case.

INFLUENCE OF THE ENVIRONMENT TO MAGGIE'S BEHAVIOR IN CRANE'S "MAGGIE: A GIRL OF THE STREET"

The purpose of this research Is to reveal the infiuence of the environment to Maggie's behavior In Crane's “Maggie: A Giri of the Streets”. In conducting this research, the writer uses qualitative research In which the data are in the form of words rather than numbers. In analyzing data, the writer uses objective and psychological approach. The data collected in this research from two sources, primary and secondary sources. Primary source is Crane's “Maggie: A Girl of the Streets” and secondary source are the other books and data from internet that related to this research. The result of the research shows that Maggie has a miserable life that caused by her bad environment. It caused by her family condition, her Job, her neighborhood, her love relationship with Pete, and all the problems that she has to face in everyday of her life. She has to survive by anything ways in order to get a better life. But the conditions make her depressed. At the end of the story, Maggie chooses a wrong decision. She kilis her self.

Social Status Reflected in Jane Austen's Emma

This research discusses the social status of society at Highbury in the era of the 19th century. In this research the writer using the qualitative method to analyze social status that reflected in Jane Austen’s Emma and apply the theory of Swingewood (1972), that is the sociology of literature or the sociological approach. The result of this research that obtained the social status is still upheld by the community as a culture that they must preserve. When choosing a life partner, it is often determined by the background of both parties. If both parties do not have a match in their background then their wedding will not be permanent and happy. Because a person's social status is made the key as a part of a relationship, both in love and marriage. Marriage and love relationships are motivated by social class and work. Meanwhile, based on this culture it leads to the opinion that the upper class is not worthy of having a love relationship with the lower class. Keywords: social status, happy, marriage, and love

Phenomenology and Sex Robots

Engineering develops technologies that shape the way of relating to ourselves and others, and the last developments in robotics force us to focus on the effects of their introduction. New robots have been designed to be intimate and even potential sexual partners. Many studies work on the ethical implications of sex robots by providing a normative approach to ethically assess their introduction in the society. However, few works focus on the effects they have on the relations binding people in general, and even fewer works focus on these effects from a phenomenological perspective. This paper aims at analyzing how technologies shape the relationships from a phenomenological perspective by highlighting the process of the constitution of subjects in a love relationship. More specifically, this work shows what happens when a human being is in a love relationship while the partner uses sex robots through the analysis of texts by Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. In conclusion, this paper wants to provide a novel application of phenomenological concepts to intimate relationships with robots.

Love and Emancipation in Forough Farrokhzad's Selected Poems: A Psycho-analytical Approach

The love relationship between couples can be influenced by several factors influencing it to become a strong one in one’s life or vice versa. Finding a real love is always considered to be the key point in the meeting of opposite sexes. In order not to face psychological problems in the future, everyone’s concern is to seek for the right person. This is true to some degree for many human beings. Real love can make one feel happy and pleased but it can sometimes make one upset and hopeless. Also, superficial love can be the same because it can be the cause of pleasure for the lover who only seeks a temporary relationship i.e., superficial love but similarly it can be the source of sadness for the partner whose intention in such a relationship is a real love. This strenuous power manifests itself in the behavior and sometimes in the appearance of the human beings. When one of the lovers stops his/her love relationship with his/her lover by starting a new relationship with another person, due to their beauty, this will be called superficial love. Such relations may culminate in deceiving and telling lies. This research will consider textual and psychological approaches in the analysis of the selected poems of Forough Farrokhzad to demonstrate real love and superficial love that may cause psychological and social impacts.

Child as an object of affectionate attitude in the russian linguistic view of the world

This article presents the composition and structure of the associative-semantic field Child and the structure of the image (concept) of the same name in the Russian linguistic view of the world. According to the results of the conducted research and other scientific works related to the study of this object we describe the basic lexical-semantic groupings within ASP, which are called the most important meanings that characterize child with age, size, gender, physical, physiological, psychological, cognitive, behavioral and active characteristics in terms of education, in his social relations. These meanings determine the structure not only of this lexical field, but also the structure of the mental formation of the same name. First proposed and justified the selection as a separate aspect of the structure of ASP and the structure of the concept of the dimension of the attribute child emotional object (sweet, tender, love) relationship. The emphasis on this aspect is justified by the fact that the system of the Russian language has a significant number of units of lexical, morphemic, word-formation levels that regularly convey this meaning. Along with the use of these means in the direct meaning for the characteristics of the child, they are used as genre-forming means in various speech situations, including metaphorically, in order actualizing the affectionate attitude towards adult speech participants. For the article, we also wrote about (diminutives) containing suffixes of subjective evaluation, as defined by many authors, its role in our work and how to make nouns with diminutive or affectionate suffixes that indicate a small size, a small age of the child and at the same time an affectionate, loving attitude.

Znaczenie intymności i zaangażowania interpersonalnego w regulacji dystansu w związkach miłosnych we wczesnej dorosłości

The aim of the theoretical and empirical studies presented in the article was to analyze the relationship between intimacy and interpersonal commitment experienced in love relationships during early adulthood. The study involved 172 participants asked completed Interpersonal Commitment Questionnaire and Intimacy Questionnaire. The results of the research confirmed the occurrence of a relationship between interpersonal commitment and experienced intimacy, but not in all their dimensions. It was also established that the length of the relationship does not matter for the dimensions of both experienced intimacy and interpersonal commitment. For some of them, the type of love relationship is significant.
