Abstract The entire training process aims at completing the professional training of the military so that they can maintain a high level of work capacity and combat ability, even under multiple demands. The morphological and functional characteristics of the military in this category require the organization and development of a well-planned, organized and managed training system that ensures that the assessment standards are met but at the same time does not produce physical, mental or functional disturbances of the body.

Movement as an elementary characteristic of living matter, as well as an important feature of humans, can be observed from the aspect of biological and psycho-social factors, but also from physiological, biomechanical and motivational aspect. Every movement belongs to one or several specific motor skills, which represent a pivotal factor in solving tactical tasks and achieving the necessary security goals and requirements. In the process of enrollment in the Military Academy, all candidates’ health, intellectual and physical abilities are tested, whereas during their studies the cadets attend a mandatory four-year program of physical education conducted by the means of the Special physical training and sport course. The testing, conducted for enrollment in the Academy, is further used as a prerequisite for taking the exam for the course, thus allowing continuous monitoring of physical fitness. Aiming at acquiring concrete information on the physical fitness state and the differences in terms of physical fitness between the candidates enrolling in the Academy and cadets, this paper presents the results of a testing conducted with 70 candidates aspiring to join the Academy and 70 cadets of the Military Academy, who regularly attend a physical education course. In order to identify the differences between the two groups of participants, the research was based on the t-test for independent samples. Based on the obtained results, certain qualitative and quantitative differences can be established in all segments subject of this research, which derive from the conditions, as well as the organization and duration of the preparation for this tests.

We consider the aspects of adaptation to the process of training and physical education of first year cadets. Problems and aspects of physiological adaptation are designated and its connection with activity of cardiovascular system of an organism of first year cadets is shown. The main factor of the considered process of physiological adaptation is shown. The relevance of the study of adaptive mechanisms of the body of first year cadets during the beginning of their training in the military university is proved. The necessity of increasing the volume of physical activity for more successful adaptation of first year cadets to training in a military university is proved. Reflects the results of exposure to prolonged and regular physical activity, compatible with the normal functioning of the organism in which the person developing his adaptive functional reorganization. Studies of functional possibilities of cardiovascular system of first year cadets to specify Robinson's index (for the purpose of quantitative characteristics of the systolic heart function). The estimation of these parameters is necessary to complete the definition of adaptation possibilities of organism of first year cadets. The results of the study of heart rate, systolic blood pressure at rest are also reflected. All studies are aimed at determining the effectiveness of the implementation of the developed system of physical education of first year cadets, aimed at improving the adaptive capacity of their body, to improve the educational process in the military university.

This paper provides a discursive analysis of the four curricular programs of the Comisión Nacional de Educación Física (CNEF-Uruguay) of 1988, which are some of the fundamental documents of the policies in Physical Education in the first post-dictatorial quinquennium in Uruguay (1985-1990). We describe the conditions for the potential development of a physical education characterized by its ludic quality, exploring   the frequent references to recreation in the policies in Physical Education as a government strategy aimed at the regulation of the population. Then, we analyze the relationship between politics and the education of the body,  in light of the post-dictatorship policies and the policymakers attempt to distance themselves from the proposals developed in the dictatorial period. During the military-civic dictatorship in Uruguay (1973-1985); gymnastic displays and sporting events were exalted. In the return to democracy, physical  education policies took a more recreational form, although maintained the same spirit: the government of the population and the productive body.

Endurance (the ability to sustain activity), strength (the ability to overcome endurance) and motor skills (the functional application of force and endurance to react operatively to stimuli in the form of effective movement) are essential features for the physical performance of the military and, on a larger scale, for their success in the military system. Prompt physical availability is the ability to meet the physical requirements of any service or combat situation, in order to fulfill the mission or continue the fight until victory is achieved. Looking ahead, the multi-field approach in military operations identified the need for the military to be constantly physically prepared so that they would be available to fight in extreme environments of dispute and difficulty. Both tactical and physical training will remain a key component of combat training, and military physical education specialists must find solutions to integrate physical training into tactical field training exercises.   Keywords: prompt physical availability, concepts of training, physical training, workout, military physical education.

Due to the wide possibilities of gymnastics in solving various pedagogical and health-hygienic tasks, it is used in all parts of the general system of physical education and can have a cure for many diseases. It is practiced in preschool institutions, schools, secondary and higher educational institutions, lyceums, the army and the navy, in the system of sports clubs, etc. A physical education teacher must be well acquainted with the basic tools and methods of developing various motor skills, as well as ways to organize classes. In this case, he will be able to more accurately select the optimal combination of tools, forms and methods of improvement in relation to the specific conditions of the training session. The above criteria provide him with information about the level of development of motor skills and the ability to adjust them, make changes in the formation of loads, the intensity of training, taking into account gender and age. The main gymnastic means are exercises, namely: general development, military, applied, acrobatic, choreographic, on gymnastic shells, jumping, etc. It is a known fact that the structure of any lesson (gymnastics) is a single pedagogical process. The main parts of it are: preparatory, which solves the organization and readiness of students for classes in the main part.
