The role and impact of ICT and tourism industry isn't secret to any one. By taking advantage of the Internet and the advent of electrical tourism, ICT is one of the essential elements of tourism industry and it has increased the efficiency of it. Estimates indicate that global industry of tourism has increased approximately 6.5 billion dollar in this current year (2013). With the growing trend of world tourism in 2013, World Travel and Tourism Council Report on projected earnings about 6 billion and $500 million from tourism industry. According to the World Tourism in this current year tourism industry, provides 260 million new jobs around the world. This trend also continued in 2012 with the Asian countries which are top countries with the highest growth in the tourism industry. The global tourism industry in 2012 was host to one billion and 35 million visitors this year the figure is expected to grow dramatically1. In this regard, the present study explores the role of information technology in all aspects of the tourism city of Rasht. For the study of field studies and questionnaire techniques are used. Hence according to the statistical community which are tourists of Rasht and according to the sample size, Which 200 were randomly selected to produce and distribute 200 questionnaires to both tourists and the tourism department personnel that among those who filled out 123 questionnaires, 101 were tourists and 22 were tourism department manager and staff. The results of this study show that due to poor infrastructure in terms of offering this technology, the contribution of tourism activities in the field of information technology, the contribution of tourism activities in the field of information technology of Rasht, is not justified. For example, the results of this questionnaire suggest that the amount of tourist' use of this technology in learning information and booking residential units are minimal. So that 8.9% of the research subjects had very little skill, 33.7% had lack of skill, 38.6% were average and 17.8% were skillful in using computer. Among were the managers of tourism, 45.5% of the research subjects had very little skill, 27.3% were average, 18.2% were skillful and 9.1% were very skillful in using computer.

This research compares tourism competitiveness of two neighboring countries, Romania and Bulgaria, which have many similarities economically as well as from a geopolitical and historical perspective. Despite these similarities, immediately after the 1990s, which marked the fall of the communist regime, the tourism phenomenon in the two countries had divergent evolutions. As the tourism industry in Bulgaria, especially its seaside tourism, underwent unprecedented development, the tourism activity in Romania systematically lost its competitiveness. The factors affecting the appearance and increase of such a difference are of interest to the Romanian seaside tourism. To generate the answer to this problem, we perform a series of comparative analyses with data from the World Economic Forum, in terms of the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report (2011-2015), `the National Authority for Tourism of Romania, and the National Institute of Statistics from Romania and Bulgaria. We identified a series of constitutive elements relating to the success of the Bulgarian seaside tourism and a sequence of deficiencies in the strategic and organizational maneuvers of the tourism activity at the Romanian seaside.

This study examines the impact of ICT readiness on the tourism industry and how it leads to growing competitiveness by deploying three-panel data analysis techniques (pooled OLS, fixed effects, dynamic GMM) with 177 nations for the period 2011 to 2019. ICT readiness is gauged using the World Economic Forum's Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index, whereas tourism's contribution towards economic progress is gauged by overall international traveler arrival. The observations indicate that ICT readiness causes a statistically significant effect on tourism's role in economic progress. Tourism policy effects and guidelines for future works are discussed as well.


There is a huge development in the Information Technology or IT sector recently. Also, there is a massive use of Geographic Information System or in short, we say as GIS nowadays. Tourism Industry is getting more and more advantage specially from GIS. GIS and Tourism Industry are bonding together in a smooth and progressive manner. In order to connect GIS and Tourism, that means in order to establish a bonding between them network is required or we can say connectivity is required. Network allows nodes to share resources in digital telecommunications. So, GIS and Tourism are interconnected with network. Network form infrastructure of modern society. When tourists visit a new place, they might not know about the place in a detailed manner or it might be just a new place for them. Even services like Google which uses the Navigation system and uses the GIS system might not have all details of a place of very low tourist interests. But here we propose Intelligent Tourist Guide System using Web Development which will help tourists travelling to different parts of the world and also local people can advertise their place in order to make it a Tourist Spot and make their area famous.

The development of information technology has led to the emergence of new media. The new media is being used in various industries and business including in tourism industry. Public relation practitioners working in tourism industry take benefits of new media as means of communication and promotion. Ragunan Zoo is a tourist destination located in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The development of the era led to the development of strategy in introducing this tourism destination to local and overseas tourists. The types of new media that this tourism destination exploits are websites, social media, and mobile phone applications.

The Covid 19 pandemic has impacted the world and almost brought the entire world to a complete standstill. Most of the industries have been affected adversely as countries across the world went on lockdowns and imposed restrictions on travel, trade, and businesses. The tourism, Aviation, and Hospitality industry are among the few that have been most affected due to the pandemic, as pleasure travel had almost ceased to zero and many countries worldwide had closed their borders restricting international tourists. In order to survive this, the travel industry players had to cut down their employees and their pay. Many tourism professionals have lost their jobs or have their jobs at stake. This paper focuses on analyzing the overall impacts of the pandemic on the travel and tourism industry of India. The study aims at understanding the challenges faced by the different players in the tourism industry to survive the pandemic. The study also sheds light on the opportunities that await in the future on a post-Covid scenario and some of the methods adopted by the industry players to manage the future demand in the most sustainable and safe manner. The paper is conceptual and purely based on literature reviews of various research papers focusing on the Covid pandemic on a global scale.

Several field studies have shown low levels of implementation of this type of catalog in organizations in various countries around the world, which is accentuated in public organizations. To address this problem, the main objective of this research is to demonstrate the contribution of a methodology for the construction of a catalog of information technology services in the management of technology services aimed at public entities, which is tested and assessed in terms of its levels of contribution to the information management of technology services. The methodology used in this research was tested and evaluated by 46 IT professionals working in public organizations in Ecuador, verifying the contribution levels of the proposal in four aspects: 1) the identification of information technology services, 2) the classification of information technology services, 3) feedback from the service catalog as a transversal component, and 4) the automation of all the processes described. Favourable results were obtained regarding the proposed methodology.

Abstract The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in the world. In the case of countries like Georgia, where tourism is a priority sector of the economy, innovation is crucial for a tourism-based development strategy — and this has become particularly important in the post-pandemic realities. This paper proposes a certain framework for understanding the possibilities for harnessing technological innovations in the travel industry (particularly apps and websites). It then considers the specific example of the country of Georgia, outlining the state’s measures meant to foster IT innovation in tourism and also certain moderate successes to date in this respect. Next, the paper looks to Russian tourist-sector start-ups as models for operation that be successfully harnessed in the Georgian tourism industry, examining several such Russian start-ups in closer detail.

First to be hit by the pandemic and last to recover, the travel and tourism industry is considered to be one of the most severely affected sectors. The paper tries to highlight the vulnerabilities of GDP, employment and related activities of the tourism sector by looking at it through a macro perspective using data from the World Bank, International Labour Organization, the United Nations World Trade Organization and, the World Travel and Tourism Council, in addition, substantiating the results through micro evidences in the form of case studies. The paper, using quantitative and qualitative methods, shows that GDP, employment and related activities are susceptible to the pandemic- COVID-19 and suggests how to pandemic-proof the sector that not only contributes significantly to GDP but weaves the thread of interconnectedness across the world.

Tourism is considered as an important economic activity around the world due to its direct economic impact as well as it is significant indirect and induced impacts. Granting to the World Travel and Tourism Council, Travel and Tourism Industry is one of the world’s most significant economic sectors accounting for 10.4% of global GDP and 313 million jobs, or 9.9% of total employment, in 2017. The direct and indirect impact of the industry on real estate development in the world is tremendous in terms of accommodation, catering to food and beverages, leisure, pleasure and relaxation. In Sri Lanka, tourism is the third-largest export earner in the economy, and during the past five years, there has been an unprecedented growth in the industry. However, tourism in Sri Lanka has much more untapped potential; thereby, the sector is poised to generate a range of growth and investment opportunities. However, it is only through the right policies and investment decisions; Sri Lanka can leverage the economic prospects of the Travel and Tourism Industry. This study analyses the importance of the Travel and Tourism Industry in terms of real estate development. It reviews significant trends that are shaping the growth and development of the Travel and Tourism Industry in Sri Lanka and aim to produce useful inputs for policy implications. The analysis is based on modified Tourism Satellite Account: Recommended Methodological Framework 2008 published by World Travel and Tourism Council, and carried out analysing both academic and non-academic publications, including published journal articles, annual and quarterly reports published by United Nations’ World Tourism Organization, World Travel and Tourism Council, World Economic Forum and Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and through the raw data obtained by World Travel and Tourism Council for Sri Lanka. As per the analysis, the future outlook is bright for the tourism sector in Sri Lanka, and the country is expected to maintain a high rate of growth well into the next decade.

The socio-economic and political transformations in the country cannot be perceived without the implementation of information technology. Nowadays, Internet resources are actively used in all spheres of life, so personnel management departments, following the example of foreign recruitment companies, adapt the system of selection of personnel to the modern technological realities. Human capital is still one of the most important factors in the country's development. It was approved that the proper selection of a qualified specialist is the key to the success of any company, organization, enterprise because the staff influences their efficiency and competitiveness in the occupied market segment. On this basis, it should be noted that the output of the Human Resource department is crucial. Staffing is not possible without the use of information technology and the Internet. Analyzing the existing changes in the field of hiring employees, we verified that new technologies are implemented solidly. Head-hunters and recruiters use dedicated social networking sites and job search sites to recruit highly qualified personnel. Recent advances in marketing, such as targeted advertising, are also actively and purposefully used to attract the attention of potential employees. Moreover, specialized software is being developed to simplify the selection and screening system for those candidates who do not meet the requirements of the enterprise. It should be noted that the development of information technology has fundamentally affected the change in the relationships and interactions of people in society, involving all spheres of life. Looking at people around the world who spend a lot of time in the virtual space and want to find a particular job, it should be confirmed that there is no longer a need to print it in the newspaper, broadcast it on the radio or to show on television. The results of our research show that the advertisement for the job position can be entirely spread on the Internet in the nearest future. Information technology has made adjustments to the specifics of hiring qualified personnel in the world, and in particular in Ukraine. The widespread availability of information resources in the world has fundamentally changed the policies of Human Resource Management departments and the tactics of their specialists. It has been done a lot in the development of the Human Resource department in Ukraine, but several unresolved issues should be overcome. It`s the quandary of the future. Key words: information technology, human capital, human resources management, social networks.
