The article considers the challenge to the educational system, which arises from the sociocultural context and the conditions of the global world. The emphasis is on the cultural and historical nature of the emergence and development of the institution of education. The specifics of its current state consists in the transition from the state of "universal education" characteristic of the modern time to the localization of education in specialized groups and communities as a characteristic trend of global reality (the phenomenon of "educational archipelago"). In these conditions, school education receives a special purpose. It becomes a prerequisite for an individual’s ability to self-determination in a changing world devoid of objective unity. Accordingly, giftedness as a potential for personality development comes to the fore. The shortcomings of the common understanding of giftedness are analyzed, its relationship with the essence of man is shown. The meaning of giftedness as a negative and positive educational task is revealed. The most important result of the development of giftedness in the school is the discovery by the student of his vocation. In the form of a vocation, a person opens the semantic perspective of his life and determines the scenario of life in an adult state.

Objective. The article analyzes the practices of homeless assistance programs and the possibility of developing a methodological approach, where the restoration of the lost subjectivity of the individual will become one of the methodological foundations of the psychology of homelessness. Background. The problem of homelessness is urgent both for Russia and foreign countries. Improving the effectiveness of the re-socialization practices for people living on the street implies a deeper understanding of the psychology of the homeless by social services. Methodology. This article considers the methodological principles of the historical-evolutionary approach (A.G. Asmolov), the approach to the analysis of cultural and personal development from the viewpoint of the chronotope (N.N. Tolstykh), the principle of supra-situational activity (V.A. Petro¬vsky), the idea of personality development pathways in challenging conditions (D.A. Leontiev), etc. Conclusions. It is concluded that assistance to the homeless is of an ad hoc nature and mostly includes the provision of material and emergency support. The authors propose a comprehensive model based on the idea of the homeless personality returning and upholding the following principles: 1) retention of activity on the side of the person, 2) effort on the part of the person, 3) maintenance of oversituational activity, 4) reliance on the personality, its potential, 5) support and organization of social relations, 6) polysystem.

The article deals with the issue of human freedom in its moral aspect. The main question is whether the inclinations and abilities of a person are barriers to his or her freedom. In order to answer this question the author addresses to medieval (Thomas Aquinas) and modern (Karol Wojtyla, Dietrich von Hildebrand, Grzegorz Holub) thinkers. Following Wojtyla the author claims that freedom means the dependence of the dynamization of the person on his or her selfness. The person is able to transcend natural inclinations, but not every inclination that corresponds to human nature interferes freedom. It should be mentioned, at least, the inclination for truth and good. Natural inclinations of a human being do not limit the freedom. To be natural is to be spontaneous, that is to correspond to freedom. Human affects indicate a certain dependence on an object. However, the person has the freedom to accept his or her affective responses or distance himself or herself from them. Self-control also does not deny freedom. Control implies an understanding of person's desires. So, reason conduces a choice, decision making. The moment of choice among multiple alternatives is especially important. It demonstrates both the independence of the will from the objects and the active orientation of the will on value. Freedom is not a passive perception of values, but active engagement in them. Causes and motives cease to be determinants of free action when the reason gives the consent to them, accepting them as its own. Freedom to engage in value should not be confused with the ability to name the value those objects that the will spontaneously desires. It seems that a person's action cannot be free because of its focus on good, besides the true and objective good. Paradoxically, knowledge of the truth of the good becomes a prerequisite for subject's independence. Human morality, as well as the focus on conscious good, do not oppress, but purify freedom and make the person truly independent in his or her self-determination.

Francesco D’Agostino

---------- The reflection of Francesco D'Agostino proceeds from a brief presentation of the genealogy and subsequent developments of the concept of "person" in Western culture, focussing specifically on the recent and abstract identification positivistic between the concept of person and the concept of "subject of law "- and its consequent manipulation by the pragmatic legislation. This paradigm is now in crisis, as shown by the neverending discussions about the legal framework of the “bios”, and in particular the difficulties to contain by the legislation every temptation of the excesses of the biopolitics: neither the empiricist attempt to rehabilitate the concept proceeding from the ability to self-determination, appears very serious and theoretically persuasive. More promising is instead the proposal to return to a foundation of law in person and in his concrete corporeity: going beyond the proposals of Stephen Rodotà, originally compared with the personalism of Elio Sgreccia, D'Agostino suggested to take seriously the idea of "biography" to rediscover an integrated and relational concept of the human person. In this commitment, the transition from the concept of “body” to concept of “flesh” promises many theoretical consequences, because the concept of flash is much more dense in terms of philosophical and theological thought: as well as by its reference to the intrinsic vulnerability, both for its structural openness to the relationship with the other and with the christian God, just appeared in the flesh.

The article analyzes the phenomena of an individual’s self-determination and psychological well-being, their interrelations, factors and components. These are the factors of psychological well-being that form a motivational focus on self-realization, personal autonomy, self-expression, self-acceptance, actualization of own nature, creative potential disclosure, positive relation- ships with others, belief in own effectiveness, etc., which form the individual’s self-determination capabilities. The self-determination structure includes the following components: goals, values, meanings, and awareness of own life journey, perspective of the future; motivation for self-development and self-realization; personal self-efficiency, self-attitude and autonomy; understanding of own powers and confidence in own capabilities; conscious control and realistic assessment of own achievements and prospects, involvement into the social life. Based on the performed correlation and regression analysis, we have established that self-determination of people’s behaviour is influenced by understanding of their life goals and meanings, the inner locus of control, personal autonomy and the ability to self-determination of their positions and regulation of their own lives. The main factors of self-determination, successful self-realization and personal psychological well-being are: understanding of own purposes, meanings, perspective of own future; existence of motivation for self-development and self-realisation, understanding of own powers and confidence in own capabilities, personal autonomy, and the ability to control consciously and to assess own achievements and prospects. The article substantiates that self-determination of personal development is the psychological foundation and prerequisite for personal self-realization. Successful self-realisation and personal psychological well-being is determined by existence of a personal desire for self-development and personal power revealing, evaluation of own personal powers as sufficient to successful achievement and holistic perception of life’s journey, including existence of realistic life goals. These factors stipulate goal-setting motivation and determine integration of the past, present and future in a personal psychological life space. It is substantiated that self-determination of personality development is a psychological basis for its self-realization and psychological well-being.
