Purpose: To analyze the specialized literature and summarize the information on the main parasitic diseases of whitefish. Findings: Whitefish are members of the Salmoniformes, which are currently represented by 3 subgroups (Salmonidae, Coregonidae, Thymallidae). Whitefishes are widespread species of fish in the subarctic and boreal zones of Europe, Asia and North America and are the most important components of the ecological system and valuable objects of local and industrial fishery. But these fishes are frequently affected by parasitic diseases. This article contains the description of most common parasitic diseases of whitefish and of the main causative agent, clinical signs of diseases, and the main preventive measures to prevent the occurrence of these diseases in whitefish culture. Aquaculture of whitefish creates a competitive food production for one or two fattening seasons with their delicacy gastronomic benefits and high economic profitability. Products of whitefish are popular on external markets that is also a good motivation for improvement of the biotechnological development for various methods of cultivation of these valuable fish. However, with increasing amounts of production, transporting fish from one farm to another and crowded stocks of fish result in problems with diseases of different etiology. The above material describes main parasitic diseases that occur in whitefish including their main symptoms, which will help to identify them in time. Practical value. Information on the main parasitic diseases of whitefish was systematized. Most of the parasitic diseases known to the whitefish are ectoparasitosis. These are ichthyobodosis (costosis), trichodinosis, chylodonelosis, ichthioftirioz, trichophthirioz and cruciformis. Proteocephalosis, acanthocephalosis, diplomystomosis are the most dangerous among helminths. The short characteristic of these diseases is described and the methods of prophylaxis of these diseases are suggested. The review can be useful both for scientists dealing with the problem of whitefish acclimatization on the territory of Ukraine and for fish breeders already engaged in the whitefish aquaculture in Ukraine and abroad. Descriptions of symptoms of diseases will be useful for preliminary diagnostics of diseases. Key words: whitefish, parasites, ectoparasites, helminthes, diseases, ichthyobodosis, trichodionosis, chylodonelosis, ichthioftirioz, trichophriosis, chloromycosis, ergazilosis, lerneosis, argulosis, roteocephalosis, mechinorinchosis, diplostomosis.

The article presents the results of studies on the indicators of invasiveness of domestic sheep Ovis aries (Linnaeus, 1758), the causative agent of Haemonchus contortus (Rudolphi 1803; Cobb 1898) and its characteristics depending on the season in the climatic and geographical conditions of the Zaporizhzhya region. The research was conducted during 2015–2019 on the basis of laboratories of the departments of parasitology and ichthyopathology of the Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies Lviv and Parasitology and Veterinary-Sanitary Examination of the Poltava State Agrarian Academy. Helminths were isolated by the results of complete helminthological sections of the digestive organs of the dead or slaughtered sheep, and the indicators of the extent and intensity of the invasion were established. Specific identification of the identified nematodes was performed taking into account the morphological features of mature males and females. It is proved that H. contortus is a fairly widespread species of nematodes in the population of domestic sheep in the territory of the studied region. The magnitude of the invasion of animals reached 66.36 %, the intensity of the invasion – 25.56 ± 1.51 samples/animal (for fluctuations from 1 to 79 sp./an.). It is noted that the causative agent of Haemonchosis is registered during the year. At the same time, the degree of sheep infection depends on the season of the year and is characterized by certain patterns in the extent and intensity of H. contortus invasion of sheep. The peak of the animals with the nematodes was detected in the autumn-winter period of the year, EI ranged from 73.23 to 78.57 %. The decline in invasion magnitude was observed in spring (52.63 %) and summer (59.68 %). Seasonal fluctuations in the infestation rates had some differences and were characterized by maximum values in the summer and autumn seasons ranging from 27.49 ± 2.52 to 37.35 ± 2.36 samples/animal. During the winter, the intensity of H. contortus infestation in sheep gradually decreased (13.73 ± 2.12 sp/an) and gained minimum values in the spring of the year (10.85 ± 1.78 sp./an). The conducted researches illuminate the current epizootic condition of sheep haemorrhage in the territory of Zaporizhzhya region, expand and supplement the already existing data that will allow to increase the effectiveness of the use of therapeutic and preventive measures in this invasion.

Now hunting for wild animals and birds is widespread in the Russian Federation. However, the veterinary and sanitary examination was not fully elaborated for a number of parasitic diseases, in particular for sarcocystosis of ducks. It is one of the most widespread avian diseases and it is increasingly being encountered by biologists, hunters and veterinarians. The article presents parameters for evaluating the meat of clinically healthy ducks and those infected with sarcocysts. The results obtained allow us to conclude about the prevalence and the need to improve the veterinary and sanitary assessment of meat and the system of preventive measures for sarcocystic invasion. Key words: sarcocystosis, hunting, ducks.

Показано, что происходит необоснованное навязывание препарата Бингсти .Within the frames of the wastewater disposal processes water and wastewater utilities shall provide for the disinvasion of effluents and wastewater sludge generated in the process of wastewater treatment. In accordance with paragraph 1.2 of SanPiN 3.2.3215-14 Prevention of parasitic diseases in the territory of the Russian Federation , the sanitary rules set out the requirements for a comprehensive set of organizational, sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures, that are aimed at preventing the occurrence and spread of parasitic diseases. The assessment of regulatory documents on the disinvasion of environmental objects, as well as judicial decisions regarding its implementation, was carried out. Controversies were revealed in the regulatory documents, and appeals were sent to various organizations with a proposal to harmonize the rules in order to exclude discrepancies. Industrial methods for disinvasion of wastewater sludge were studied. It is shown that there is an unreasonable aggressive selling of Bingsti ineffective product.

Poult enteritis and mortality syndrome (PEMS) is one of the most significant problem affecting turkeys and continues to cause severe economic losses worldwide. Although the specific causes of PEMS remains unknown, this syndrome might involve an interaction between several causative agents such as enteropathogenic viruses (coronaviruses, rotavirus, astroviruses and adenoviruses) and bacteria and protozoa. Non-infectious causes such as feed and management are also interconnected factors. However, it is difficult to determine the specific cause of enteric disorders under field conditions. Additionally, similarities of clinical signs and lesions hamper the accurate diagnosis. The purpose of the present review is to discuss in detail the main viral possible causative agents of PEMS and challenges in diagnosis and control.

ABSTRACT: Populations of green-winged saltators, Saltator similis, are decreasing especially because of illegal trade and infectious diseases. We describe natural cases of an extraintestinal isosporoid coccidian in caged S. similis, and suggest the need of preventive measures in handling these birds. Nonspecific clinical signs were seen in all of them, however, intracytoplasmic Atoxoplasma sp. was found in peripheral blood, reinforcing the idea of systemic isosporosis. Leukocytosis with high number of heterophils and monocytes suggested that atoxoplasmosis in green-winged saltators can progress as an acute disease. The birds showed clinical improvement after treatment. Handling recommendations were proposed to upgrade hygienic conditions of the facilities. We concluded that nonspecific symptoms and an acute inflammatory process can be associated with atoxoplasmosis in young S. similis. We emphasize the importance of blood smear to detect merozoites.

Paratuberculosis is an incurable chronic disease of ruminants, which is manifested with clinical signs of diarrhea and progressive weight loss. Causative agent is Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis, and the disiase occurs in cattle, sheep and goats. The outspread of paratuberculosis is huge in the whole world, especially in the countries where animal breeding is a developed branch of economy. Animals get infected with food and water contaminated with feces of infected animals. The infection spreads within infected pastures and also when trading animals with latent infection. Clinical manifestation of the disease can firstly be noticed in young categories of sheep, which is different than in cattle. Primary clinical symptom is chronic weight loss. It is rather hard to determine the level of prevalence of the disease, in a certain region, because the diagnostic procedure is complex and not always reliable enough. Detection of antibodies with ELISA test is considered a method of choice for diagnostic of paratuberculosis, because of fast gaining of the results and relatively low price of the test. By applying the ELISA test, we have analysed 2000 sheep blood samples. Positive results for paratuberculosis were found in 66 ( 3,30%) animals in total. In sheep samples from southern Backa region, positive findings were gained from 42 (3,89%) samples, and in Srem region, positive finding were found in samples from 24 sheep (2,60%). Control programs are based on the removal of all infected animals, application of general preventive measures and vaccination. Application of vaccination aims for elimination of clinical form of the disease. An effective treatment has not been determined so far.
