The paper presents the results of research exploring the relationship betweendemocratic school leadership and democratic school culture in primary schools.The research is based on the present knowledge that points to the significant role ofprincipals in the process of developing and changing school culture (Fullan, 2005).The aim of the research was to determine the extent of primary teachers’ perceptionregarding the level of development of selected characteristics of democratic schoolleadership and its connection to their estimate of the level of development of selectedcharacteristics of democratic school culture. The research comprised 651 teachersfrom the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County. The research was conducted by meansof a survey using a questionnaire containing two instruments: the Instrumentfor the measurement of characteristics of democratic school leadership (designedfor the research) and the Instrument for the measurement of characteristics ofdemocratic school culture (adopted from Spajić-Vrkaš, 2016). According to theteachers’ perception, principals in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County implementcharacteristics of democratic school leadership to a significant degree. They perceivethe level of characteristics of democratic school culture as moderate. In addition, theresearch has determined a statistically significant high positive correlation betweencharacteristics of democratic school leadership and democratic school culture.Key words: democratic school culture; democratic school leadership; primary school;principal, teachers. - U radu je prikazano istraživanje u kojem je provjeren odnos između demokratskogaškolskog vođenja i demokratske školske kulture u osnovnim školama. Istraživanje setemelji na dosadašnjim spoznajama koje upućuju na značajnu ulogu ravnatelja urazvoju i mijenjanju školske kulture (Fullan, 2005). Svrha je istraživanja utvrditije li i u kojoj mjeri procjena učitelja osnovnih škola o stupnju razvijenosti odabranih obilježja demokratskoga školskog vođenja povezana s njihovomprocjenom stupnja razvijenosti odabranih obilježja demokratske školske kulture.U istraživanju je sudjelovao 651 učitelj iz grada Zagreba i Zagrebačke županije.Istraživanje je provedeno anketnim ispitivanjem u kojem je korišten upitnik kojije sadržavao Instrument za mjerenje obilježja demokratskoga školskog vođenja(izrađen za potrebe istraživanja) i Instrument za mjerenje obilježja demokratskeškolske kulture (preuzet od Spajić-Vrkaš, 2016.). Prema percepciji učitelja ravnateljiu Gradu Zagrebu i Zagrebačkoj županiji u značajnoj mjeri implementiraju obilježjademokratskoga školskog vođenja te percipiraju da u školama postoji osrednjarazina prisutnosti obilježja demokratske školske kulture. Nadalje, istraživanjemje utvrđena statistički značajna visoka pozitivna povezanost između obilježjademokratskoga školskog vođenja i demokratske školske kulture.Ključne riječi: demokratska školska kultura; demokratsko školsko vođenje; osnovnaškola; ravnatelj; učitelji.

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis dan menguji hipotesis tentang pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, dan budaya sekolah, terhadap kinerja guru. Hipotesis penelitian diuji meliputi: Terdapat pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru, terdapat pengaruh budaya sekolah terhadap kinerja guru, dan terdapat pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Dan dilakukan analisis dengan analisis regresi berganda. terdapat kesimpulan dari hasil pengujian hipotesis, sebagai berikut. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru SMK rumpun pariwisata di Kota Tangerang. Dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig. = 0,000 < 0,05 dan t0 = 9,606. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan budaya sekolah terhadap kinerja guru SMK rumpun pariwisata di Kota Tangerang. Dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig. = 0,000 < 0,05 dan t0 = 4,391 Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru SMK rumpun pariwisata di Kota Tangerang. AbstractThe study aims to analyze and test the truth of the hypothesis of the influence of the style of school leadership and school culture, the performance of teachers. The research hypotheses were tested include influences of the principal's leadership style on teacher performance, there is the influence of school culture on teacher performance, and there are a style influence school leadership and school culture on teacher performance. The study was conducted with descriptive qualitative method. Were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The hypothesis testing results obtained the following conclusions. There is a significant effect of the leadership style of principals on teacher performance SMK clump of tourism in the city of Tangerang. Evidenced by the Sig. = 0.000 <0.05 and t0 = 9.606. There is a significant effect on the performance of the school culture vocational teachers clump of tourism in the city of Tangerang. Evidenced by the Sig. = 0.000 <0.05 and t0 = 4.391 There is a significant influence style of school leadership and school culture together on teacher performance SMK clump of tourism in the city of Tangerang that Evidenced by the Sig. = 0.000 <0.05 and Fo = 3471.597.

This study aims to obtain an overview of the relationship between school principal leadership, school culture and teacher work motivation on the professionalism of physical education teachers. The study uses a quantitative approach with the Ext-Post Facto method. The population in this study amounted to 952 people from 34 Public and Private Vocational High Schools (SMK) registered in MGMP (Subject Teachers' Consultation) Physical Education Vocational School Physical Education Serdang Bedagai Regency in North Sumatra Province in 2017. Samples of 30 physical education teachers from 34 Schools using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques using path analysis. The results showed that the principal's leadership and work motivation of teachers directly affected teacher professionalism, while school culture would not affect teacher professionalism. The conclusion is that the principal's good leadership, healthy school culture, and high teacher motivation are factors of high and low teacher professionalism.

Two commonly researched leadership practices in the education literature—instructional and transformational—can be linked to Schein’s multilevel model on organizational culture. There is a mediating effect of school leadership on the school structure and school culture relationships. The literature related to this subject confirms that the culture of a school, shaped by its principal, affects the competency and capacity of teachers; it also recognizes that school leadership practices affect student academic outcomes. Some studies, however, attempt to understand the impact a school principal can make on its student culture. If school culture is an avenue for understanding the behaviors and performance of school leaders and teachers, then student culture is a platform for understanding the affective and academic performance of students.

Hubungan Budaya Sekolah dan Komitmen Organisasi dengan Produktivitas Kerja Guru di SMP Negeri di Kota MataramAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara budaya sekolah, komitmen organisasi baik secara sendiri-sendiri maupun secara bersama-sama dengan produktivitas kerja guru SMP Negeri di Kota Mataram. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 88 orang ditentukan melalui teknik Stratifikcation random sampling. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah budaya sekolah (X1) dan komitmen organisasi (X2), sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah produktivitas kerja guru (Y), Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen angket dengan skala Likert, selanjutnya untuk pengujian hipotesis digunakan teknik analisis regresi dan korelasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan yang ditunjukkan dengan persamaan regresi ? = 135,88 + 0,18X1 untuk variabel budaya sekolah, persamaan ? = 95,11 + 0,534X2 untuk variabel komitmen organisasi, dan persamaan ?= 76,82 + 0,170X1 + 0,530X2 untuk kedua variabel secara bersama-sama. Kekuatan hubungan variabel ditunjukkan oleh koefosien korelasi (r), untuk variabel budaya sekolah ry1 = 0,232 dengan kontribusi 5,4 %, untuk komitmen organisasi ry2= 0,562 dengan kontribusi 31,6 %, dan koefisien korelasi untuk kedua variabel Ry.12 = 0,603 dengan kontribusi 36,36 %. Berdasarkan hasil ini disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang positif dan signifikan antara budaya sekolah, komitmen organisasi, baik secara sendiri-sendiri maupun secara bersama-sama dengan produktivitas kerja guru SMP Negeri di Kota Mataram.Kata kunci : produktivitas kerja guru, budaya sekolah, komitmen organisasi.Relations Between the School Culture and the Organizational Commitment with the Labor Productivity Teachers in Junior High Schools in the City of MataramAbstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the school culture, the organizational commitment either individually or jointly with the Labor productivity teachers in junior high schools in the city of Mataram. The research sample as many as 88 people are determined through Stratifikcation random sampling techniques. The independent variable in this research is the school culture (X1) and the organizational commitment (X2), while the dependent variable is the labor productivity teachers (Y). Data were collected using questionaires with Likert scale, further to test the hypothesis used regression analysis and correlation techniques. The analysis showed that there is a positive and significant correlation shown by the regression equation ? = 135,88 + 0,18X1 for the school culture variables, equation ? = 95,11 + 0,534X2 for organizational commitment variables, and equations ?= 76,82 + 0,170X1 + 0,530X2 for both variables together. The strength of the relationship between the variables indicated by the correlation coefficient (r), for the school culture variable ry1 = 0,232 with contibution is 5,4 %, for organizational commitment ry2= 0,562 with contribution is 31,6 %,, and correlation coefficients for both variables Ry.12 = 0,603 with contribution is 36,36%. Based on these results concluded that there is a positive and significant correlation between the shool culture, the organizational commitment, either individually or jointly with the labor productivity teachers in junior high schools in the city of Mataram.Keywords: labor productivity teachers, teacher School culture, organizational commitment

The main purpose of this article is to describe the process of development and validation of a research instrument for measuring the presence of democratic school leadership characteristics. The instrument has been developed and validated in the city of Zagreb and Zagreb County in Croatia in four phases: theoretical construction; expert validation ( N = 6 experts); pilot research ( N = 77 teachers); and instrument structure validation through the main research ( N = 651 teachers). The expert validation and pilot research took place in 2018. The main research was conducted in January and February 2019. According to Carmines and Zeller (1979), the results of the factor analysis, which show that the instrument is measuring a single phenomenon, indicate that all four hypotheses have been fulfilled. More specifically, several aspects of the extracted (i.e. unrotated) factor matrix support the following four hypotheses: the (unrotated) factor matrix of all 32 items explains a total of 66.793% of the variance; subsequent components demonstrate the fairly equal proportions of the remaining variance except for a gradual decrease; all items have high factor loadings on the first component (from .603 to .861); and all items have higher loadings on the first than on the second component.

This article discusses the struggles of urban social movements for a de-neoliberalisation of housing policies in Poulantzian terms as a “condensation of the relationship of forces”. Drawing on an empirical analysis of the “Berliner Mietenvolksentscheid” (Berlin rent referendum), which was partially successful in forcing the city government of Berlin to adopt a more progressive housing policy, the article argues that urban social movements have the capacity to challenge neoliberal housing regimes. However, the specific materiality of the state apparatus and its strategic selectivity both limit the scope of intervention for social movements aiming at empowerment and non-hierarchical decision-making.

While many analysts have commented on the representation of 1968 campus events and antiwar demonstrations, less attention has been paid to the global significance of the dramatic struggles in industrial Detroit during the period. The meanings of events in the city were intensely fought over. As Stuart Hall, Chas Critcher, Tony Jefferson, John Clarke, and Brian Roberts observed, the events of 1968 were “an act of collective will, the breaks and ruptures stemming from the rapid expansion in the ideology, culture and civil structures of the new capitalism . . . in the form of a ‘crisis of authority.’” In Detroit the crisis of authority was expressed in the form of popular political struggles against racism, state violence, and the contradictions of life in the industrial capitalist city. This article asks and answers the following research questions about the struggle over the meaning of this decisive turning point in US history: What was the relationship between racial ordering, uneven capitalist development, and mass antiracist and class struggles? How did Black working-class organic intellectuals resist and alter hegemonic definitions of the situation? How are the dialectics of insurgency and counterinsurgency to be best theorized during this precise historical conjuncture?

Abstract Purpose of the article There is relatively a big number of brands in the market of laptops nowadays in Albania. It appears that the number of brands offered in this market could easily be compared to the number of brands in Europe and even broader. The purpose of this study is to help Albanian vendors understand the criteria that consumers take into consideration when they make the decision to purchase a laptop. Methodology/methods The research is based on the collection and the analyses of the primary data collected through interviews to people like managers or employees who work in the sector of trading laptops or in businesses like education where laptops are broadly used recently; then a survey is done through a questionnaire delivered to customers who already own and use a laptop and customers who are potential buyers of laptops. Scientific aim The aim of the research is to identify if there are any relationships between the demographics of the consumers and the criteria of buying a laptop; on the other hand, to find out how is the relationship between the demographics and the features of different brands. Findings The study found out that Albanian consumers have good knowledge of laptops and their brands, and they use different sources of information for making their decisions in buying a laptop; it is found that there are relationships between some demographics like age or gender and the appraisal for some attributes of the laptops like price, design and high graphics card; it is also found that some technical features and other attributes of using laptops are some of the determinants that influence the laptops’ purchases. Conclusions It is realized that one of the most important demographics of the consumers is their age. Some core features like RAM, ROM, battery life, processor quality, light weight or attributes that are connected to the purposes of using the laptop computers like practicality and mobility in using them, work and studying processes, quick access to the internet are determinant factors which influence the decision making process of purchasing a laptop. I would recommend that future researches be focused also on the relationship between the customers’ income and their preferred brand or ranking brands according to the customers’ preferences. Such studies should also extend outside the city of Tirana.

The qualitative and clear definition of the legal regime of the capital of Ukraine, the hero city of Kyiv, is influenced by its legislative enshrinement, however, it should be noted that discussions are ongoing and one of the reasons for the unclear legal status of the capital is the ambiguity of current legislation in this area. Separation of the functions of the city of Kyiv, which are carried out to ensure the rights of citizens of Ukraine and the functions that guarantee the rights of the territorial community of the city of Kyiv. In the modern world, in legal doctrine and practice, the capital is understood as the capital of the country, which at the legislative level received this status and, accordingly, is the administrative and political center of the state, which houses the main state bodies and diplomatic missions of other states. It is the identification of the boundaries of the relationship between the competencies of state administrations and local self-government, in practice, often raises questions about their delimitation and ways of regulatory solution. Peculiarities of local self-government in Kyiv city districts are defined in the provisions of the Law on the Capital, which reveal the norms of the Constitution in these legal relations, according to which the issue of organizing district management in cities belongs to city councils. Likewise, it is unregulated by law to lose the particularity of the legal status of the territory of the city. It should be emphasized that the subject of administrative-legal relations is not a certain administrative-territorial entity, but the social group is designated - the territorial community of the city of Kiev, kiyani. Thus, the provisions on the city of Kyiv partially ignore the potential of the territorial community.
