The growing phenomenon of “hijrah” recently has been used by many groups to campaign for various religious issues. However, the campaign contents are often discriminatory through flouring the logic of gender as natural. This study analyses the discourse of contemporary Muslim women's resistance to the marginalisation and domestication on mubadalah.id site. Using a qualitative research method with a media text analysis approach, namely Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis, the results of this study indicate that mubadalah.id represents the marginalization of women as a discourse that is contrary to gender equity in Islam. This online media also provides a counter discourse, that men are also responsible for domestic work.

Indonesia can be considered as the most productive country that creates and uses portmanteau. The blending habit is practised in the peoples everyday life, and it covers almost all aspects, from the government programs up until peoples names. Apart from simplification reason, there are some other senses that may come together with the portmanteau, among others: the memorability logic, the handy label concern, and the power it bears. This research was aimed at the usage of portmanteau by Indonesian famous people and the power gained through those names. It uses the blending and neologism theories for the portmanteau formation and Fairclough power representation and Wodak Critical Discourse Analysis theories. A qualitative research method was used in order to understand the problem deeply and thoroughly. The results are that the usage of portmanteau names give some advantages to the bearer including values, respects, and powers.

Abstract This research is linked with Twitter, as one of social media services on the Internet that are extremely popular in the world, including in Indonesia. This research is important because Twitter is effective in quickly and accurately delivering messages. In fact, everyone can act as a 'reporter' and form quick opinions through this social media. This research is aimed to investigate the emergence of the roots of hegemony based on text analysis that is linked with representation, relation, identity, and transformation of national issues that become trending topics on Twitter. Moreover, the research is to discuss the social media's discourse practice that influences media workers in producing news, and to see how it implicates the research on the study of discourse analysis. By using the Fairclough theory, especially on text analysis that is linked with representation, relation, and identity, the researcher attempts to explore how the roots of hegemony emerge in the national issues that become trending topics on Twitter. The researcher also offers a new function to complete the approach of Fairclough in text analysis on social media: transformation – which is an attempt to see the change in roles of news participants and amateur readers as 'reporters' and participate in forming opinions. The concept of maritime (maritime) is frequently discussed among the Indonesian people, a fact that may be attributed to the emphasis that has been given to maritime issues by President Joko Widodo since his candidacy. This article applies Faircloughian approach to critical discourse analysis (CDA) to understand the coverage of ‘maritime’ in Indonesian online media. This paradigm has been selected because the media does not simply act as a neutral medium through its publication and coverage; rather, media have specific ideologies, which can be described and analyzed through critical discourse analysis. This approach focuses on three aspects when analyzing written discourses: representations, relations, and identities. Representation refers to specific words and grammatical structures to construct reality; relations refer to the connections between the subjects as depicted in the discourse; and identity refers to reporters’ positions in their coverage of online media, including their biases. In general, relations and identities in Indonesian online media coverage have been oriented towards the government and society. The government has been constructed ambiguously by online media, but depictions of government have tended to be positive, with a focus on the success of its maritime programs.
