The study intended to establish how the dynamics of earthworms (Oligochaeta: Lumbricidae) changes in soil (abundance, biomass), under conditions of mineral fertilization with nitrogen and phosphorous in four different doses, in a 33-year experimental placement in the west of Romania, in wheat-soybean-maize-barley rotation. The soil indices taken into study were: pH, humus, total nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. Statistical connections between the studied factors were realized using the dispersion analysis ANOVA and the SPSS Software (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The study showed an increase of earthworm abundance and biomass under conditions of chemical fertilization with nitrogen and phosphorous. The highest number of earthworms was recorded in the treatment with the largest dose of nitrogen fertilizer (by 85.85% higher compared to the control treatment). The greatest positive influence on earthworm abundance and biomass was manifested in humus and total nitrogen. The greatest negative influence on earthworm abundance was found in pH factor, while phosphorous content of soil exerted the greatest negative influence on earthworm biomass.

Motivated by a growing literature in the social sciences suggesting that the transition to fatherhood has a profound effect on men’s values, we study how the wages of employees change after a male chief executive officer (CEO) has children, using comprehensive panel data on the employees, CEOs, and families of CEOs in all but the smallest Danish firms between 1996 and 2006. We find that (a) a male CEO generally pays his employees less generously after fathering a child, (b) the birth of a daughter has a less negative influence on wages than does the birth of a son and has a positive influence if the daughter is the CEO’s first, and (c) the wages of female employees are less adversely affected than are those of male employees and positively affected by the CEO’s first child of either gender. We also find that male CEOs pay themselves more after fathering a child, especially after fathering a son. These results are consistent with a desire by the CEO to husband more resources for his family after fathering a child and the psychological priming of the CEO’s generosity after the birth of his first daughter and specifically toward women after the birth of his first child of either gender.

PurposeThe purpose of the work consists in studying social integration as a factor of economic growth. The authors focus on experience and perspectives of developing countries, as they show the highest rate of economic growth and have high potential of its acceleration.Design/methodology/approachThe authors determine the interconnection between the processes of social integration in the four distinguished manifestations with the help of regression analysis and determine the level of homogeneity of data selections for each studied indicator with the help of variation analysis. Scenario analysis of future perspectives of the change of economic growth depending on the influence of the factor of social integration in the unity of its distinguished types is performed. Monte Carlo method is used for forecasting of change of the values of indicators of social integration.FindingsIt is substantiated that social integration is an important factor of economic growth. At the same time, the influence of this factor on economic growth of developing countries is ambiguous. Due to the offered proprietary classification of social integration according to the criterion of involved subjects, it is possible to establish that such types of social integration as integration of social groups, integration of business and society and integration of state and society have a positive influence. However, individual's integration into society has a negative influence.Originality/valueThe research contributes to development of economics by substantiating the significance of the social integration factor for economic growth and specifies the logic of management of this factor, which should be flexible. The perspectives of developing countries in acceleration of the rate of economic growth based on managing the factor of social integration are rather wide and envisage the increase of society's inclusion and the level of consumer consciousness and more active involvement of population into state management in the digital economy.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the interaction between social and commercial ventures in a region. It achieves this objective through investigating the influence of social ventures’ entry, exit and density on the entry rate of commercial ventures. Design/methodology/approach Organizational ecology is applied for theoretical analysis and the feasible generalized least square method for empirical analysis. Findings The study, in overall, finds a diffuse competition between the populations of social and commercial ventures. The results have revealed a negative influence of social ventures’ entry and density on the entry rate of commercial ventures and a positive influence of the social ventures’ exit on commercial ventures’ entry rate in a region. Originality/value The study is one of the few in its filed that empirically studies the interaction between social and commercial ventures and the first study, which investigates it in the context of Sweden. The previous two studies, however, have only examined either the influence of social ventures entry or social venture density on the entry rate of commercial ventures. This study, however, examines the influence of both of those factors plus the influence of social venture exit on commercial venture entry. The study is also unique regarding the large-scale database it uses including all the 290 municipalities all over Sweden 1990-2014.

This study aims to investigate the influence of presentation and sentiment orientation of user-generated ideas and reviews on idea adoption in open innovation communities (OICs). Drawing on the social influence theory, this study develops a research model that divides idea components into informational and normative determinants. The sentiment orientation of the idea title, description, and associated reviews is determined using a lexicon-based sentiment analysis approach. The research model is empirically tested using logistic regression analysis based on a dataset from the Microsoft community for business analytics products. The results reveal that the sentiment orientation of idea title has a negative influence on idea adoption, whilst the sentiment orientation of description has no influence on idea adoption. The sentiment orientation of the associated reviews has a positive influence on idea adoption, and this influence is moderated by the number of reviews. In addition, both idea title length and description length have a positive influence on idea adoption. These results offer several theoretical and practical implications and should therefore contribute to a better understanding of how user-generated ideas can be leveraged to drive innovation development and sustainability in OICs.

Prayer is a consequence for person who belief to God as their duty by performing in five times a day. Those are dawn Dzuhur, Ashar, Maghrib and sobs Prayer is the pillars of Muslim, “whoever does the direction, they has heighten their religion, whoever leave means has moved down theirs. Prayer will bring positive impact to performance of human if there is good process that followed and done constantly. According to Rais (1998:60) a good way in Prayer could give good charity to Muslims itself while if not, so the charity for them must be not well. Although more Muslim people come to mosque, it doesn’t show that in society they do not do disavowal. Like have been stated by Rais (1998: 60) the answer is “because the soul of Prayer didn’t life in its person”. They might do Prayer practically and routine but don’t draw it in their daily life.Allah SWT asks Muslims to give to the poor and sick of human living in this world. It is called as zakat. like in this quote “….give zakat and give loan to Allah a goodly loan, and whatever good you send before you yourself” (Q.S.Al Muzammil: 20). This letter is not without meaning, the writer thought that there is a significant relationship in causality between prayer and zakat. Based on this theory someone who do Prayer frequently will give maximum in doing Zakat. Here, the writer can say that this Muslim categorize as success person economically. Isn’t the fac t? . In empirical way the writer can see that the social community whose actively do Prayer cannot be portrayed the same, it means that not all of them represent the positive performance. Hence, the writer interested to this topic about does prayer bring positive influence toward employee performance or conversely? The results of structural equation modelling analysis show that Prayer is directly influence on work performance with negative value. It can be indicated by a coefficient -1.35 with the probability for 0.00. it can be inferred that there is negative influence when the motivation to do Prayer are high the performance will be low. This effect isn’t relevant with the theory which stated the number of praying, Prayer and Fasting can be as much higher motivation toward the quality of performance. Those potentiality is divine asset that should be managed well in establishing the charity (Tasmara, 1995: 77). God. Give his blessing to all human with those potentialities in order to make consciousness about how pray can bring big influence to the performance. Hopefully, this article are functioned as well as finding the heighten of employee performance with Prayer suitable with Muslim studies as whole.

Ongoing population growth and urbanization can cause pressure on water systems, especially in urban areas. Several previous studies have found evidence of an influence between population and water quality. However, the phenomenon in Indonesia is slightly different, because although population growth has decreased trend, but the acquisition of water quality index still fluctuate in several years. This study aims to determine the significance influence of population on water quality in Indonesia. Data analysis is done through regression of panel data of 33 provinces with fixed effect model, The results showed that the population has a negative influence on water quality in Indonesia. An increase on population by 1,000 people tends to lower the water quality index by an average of 1.13 points (cateris paribus). Population growth control becomes absolute and priority in Indonesia. However, these efforts need to be accompanied by continuous improvement of competence and welfare, so that the social awareness and economic capacity of each population are increased in order to achieve a better maintenance on the quality of the environment.
