Maize yield represents the interaction between genotype and environment. An excellent genotype should have high mean yield and small variation across common locations. This information could be obtained through yield performance test and stability analysis of yield data obtained from multilocation trials. This research was aimed to find out yield stability of eight early maturing maize promising lines at five sites using the AMMI method. There were total 12 genotypes of maize hybrids used in this research, consisted of eight hybrids (CH-1, CH-2, CH-3, CH-4, CH-5, CH-6, CH-7, and CH-8) and four check varieties (Gumarang, Bima 3, AS-1, and Bisi 2). This research was conducted at five locations ie. Gowa (South Sulawesi), Donggala (Central Sulawesi), Manado (North Sulawesi), Probolinggo (East Java) and Lombok Barat (West Nusa Tenggara) from April to September 2013. The treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replications. Variable measured was grain yield at all trial locations. Analysis of variance was performed for each site data to determine the performance of each genotype at each location. Results showed that genotype CH-2, CH-4 and CH-6 were considered as stable genotypes. Genotype CH-2 and CH-4 have a potensial to be released as new early maturing variety, due to its high yield of 8.71 and 7.52 t/ha averaged over 5 locations. Genotype CH-6 yielded below the mean yield of all genotypes, while genotype CH-8 was adaptive to a specific location, such as in Donggala, with yield of 8.38 t/ha.

The estimation of extreme earthquake return period by using the Gumbel distribution is made to analyze the occurrence of earthquakes that have occurred previously using data from January 1905 to June 2013. Data processing and analysis has been in two stages. First, testing and examination of data distribution patterns to see whether the data follow the theoretical distribution, in this case the Gumbel distribution. Second, determining the return period of the earthquake to see a recurrence of extreme earthquake is going to happen in the future. Results of the analysis showed that Sulawesi Region is highly vulnerable to earthquakes which are extreme. Return period of earthquake on the region of North Sulawesi province in the period of 62-100 years is 7.0 Mw, the region of Gorontalo Province in the period of 75-100 years is 6.8 Mw, the region of Central Sulawesi Province in the period of 82-100 years is 6.9 Mw, the region of South Sulawesi Province in the period of 319-686 months is 6,.2 Mw, the region of West Sulawesi province in the period of 113-217 months is 6.2 Mw and the region of Southeast Sulawesi province in the period of 45-97 years is 6.0 Mw.

This study analyzed the effects of the economic linkages between regions Other Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, East Java and East Kalimantan. North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and Gorontalo aggregated into one unit area of Sulawesi Other. South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi aggregated into a single unit into a region of South Sulawesi. Combined with consideration of South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi because in 2005 both areas are still joined in a single administration. Basic Data 2005 in upgrade to the Year 2011 by using the technique of RAS. The estimated number of sectors as many as 35 sectors. The study analysis showed patterns of economic linkages Other Sulawesi region is relatively lower than other regions. The pattern of economic linkages in South Sulawesi region is relatively better than Other Sulawesi. Role of East Java's economy is very large compared to other regions. The pattern of East Kalimantan's economy is relatively good, but more influenced by oil mining sector. The impact of economic linkages between regions showed Sulawesi region Another economic impact to the region of East Java and East Kalimantan but very little significance to the region of South Sulawesi. Other Sulawesi region provide spillover effect to East Java and East Kalimantan but very little influence to South Sulawesi. The impact of economic linkages East Java provides a very small influence other regions. The impact of economic linkage East Kalimantan region give greater influence to the East Java region than to Other Sulawesi and South Sulawesi region

This research aimed to analyze Efect Of Investment to economic growth in Java island and Sulawesi island in 2006-2013. The research used the secondary data, time series and cross section of the eight provinces, namely Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi. The data used comprised the investment index and economic growth index. The data were then Analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) processed using Amos and SPSS econometric software. The results showed that the effect of investment on positive economic growth was significant on Java and positively insignificant on Sulawesi Island. That means that each increase in investment by one percent increases economic growth by 0.479 percent on Java and on Sulawesi Island investment has no effect on economic growth. The investment spread in Java is more stable from year to year and from region to region. Different things on the island of Sulawesi, investment is not stable, sometimes very high and sometimes also very low in other years

Alga is a marine resource of potential to fisheries and marine sector. It has an important economic value to promote the economy in Indonesia. Nowdays, algae have been used as a relatively high value fisheries commodity since it has been used for food, industrial, pharmaceutical and cosmetic raw materials. This important potential needs to be supported with understanding of its biology and ecology, so that its utilization could increase the livelihood of the coastal villagers. This study was aimed at inventorying and identifying the members of genus Caulerpa found in North Minahasa Regency waters and studying some biological and ecological aspects of the algae in the area. Resuls showed that there were 7 species recorded, Caulerpa racemosa, C. racemosa var. macrophysa, C. sertularioides, C. taxifolia, C. serrulata,C. lentillifera and C. peltata. Ecologically, the environmental parameters, such as water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, were in tolerable ranges for algal growth.

AbstractMany glaciers in Svalbard and in other glacierized areas of the world are known to surge. However, the time series of observations required to assess the duration of fast motion is very restricted. Data on active-phase duration in Svalbard come from aerial photographs, satellite imagery, field surveys and airborne reconnaissance. Evidence on surge duration is available for eight Svalbard ice masses varying from 3 to 1250 km2. Worldwide, active-phase duration is recorded for less than 50 glaciers. Few observations are available on high polar ice masses. The duration of the active phase is significantly longer for Svalbard glaciers than for surge-type glaciers in other areas from which data are available. In Svalbard, the active phase may last from 3 to 10 years. By contrast, a surge duration of 1–2 years is more typical of ice masses in northwest North America, Iceland and the Pamirs. Ice velocities during the protracted active phase on Svalbard glaciers are considerably lower than those for many surge-type glaciers in these other regions. Mass is transferred down-glacier more slowly but over a considerably longer period. Svalbard surge-type glaciers do not exhibit the very abrupt termination of the active phase, over periods of a few days, observed for several Alaskan glaciers. The duration of the active phase in Svalbard is not dependent on parameters related to glacier size. The quiescent phase is also relatively long (50–500 years) for Svalbard ice masses. Detailed field monitoring of changing basal conditions through the surge cycle is required from surge-type glaciers in Svalbard in order to explain the significantly longer length of the active phase for glaciers in the archipelago, which may also typify other high polar ice masses. The finding that surge behaviour, in the form of active-phase duration, shows systematic differences between different regions and their environments has important implications for understanding the processes responsible for glacier surges.

Herlang Subdistrict is the largest producer of coconut juice (along with Selayar Regency and JenepontoRegency) which is the raw material for coconut sugar production in South Sulawesi. Tugondeng Village is one ofthe villages in Herlang District. About 80% of Tugondeng villagers work in the coconut sugar manufacturingindustry. However, this potential has not well developed due to the low economic value of brown sugar. To increasethe selling price of coconut sugar produced by Tugondeng Village, efforts need to be made to process coconut sapand coconut sugar into products which have higher selling price, namely palm sugar. The steps taken to achieve theobjectives of this activity were : (a) presentation of material on how to process coconut sap and coconut sugar intopalm sugar; and (b) demonstration of preparing palm sugar from coconut sap and coconut sugar. The resultsobtained show that the process of making palm sugar from coconut sap and coconut sugar is quite simple and thepalm sugar produced has longer shelf-life than coconut sugar

Batik is a picture art that is poured in a piece of cloth that is one of the Indonesian nation's identity that is recognized as World heritage. Unesco has set Batik as a Masterpieces of the Oral and the Intangible Heritage of Humanity on October 2, 2009. In Indonesia, Batik has expanded and penetrated the market share as the development of fashion in the world. Motives that exist in the market is also various types and apparently. Among others: Batik Mega Mendung, Batik Parang Rusak, Batik Kawung, etc. Which makes each type of batik has a different aesthetic value is different its uniqueness.. Dyeing techniques also vary from dyeing techniques, connective techniques, jumputan techniques etc.. Seeing this opportunity encourages the emergence of the idea of making Batik, but replace the use of the night with Leaf Betel. Leaf Betel  itself is only used as medicine or herbal medicine by the surrounding community. With this idea, in addition to raising the economic value of Leaf Betel, the original legacy of Indonesia can also be preserved. Starting from drawing sketches on mori cloth, then burst the Batik motif with Scratches Ginger Leaf Betel on it using Nails. After this step is passed, continued the coloring, for staining time required about 1-2 hours for 1x1 meter sized fabric. The results are sold in the form of batik cloth, and marketed through social media, and sold directly in the area of Madiun and surrounding areas.
