ABSTRACT: Semi-structured interview and FGD was employed to extract information from thirteen respondents selected purposefully. The result of the study disclosed that marriage and family counseling is a tradition among Oromo community right after shaving of born hair. Mostly, the father takes responsibility of the male and mother follows her daughter. ‘Kuchu’ and engagement counseling, and knowledge of blessing and curse are among the major areas of concern. Consequently, principles of marriage and family counseling, procedures and ages of application are fundamental. Incorporating indigenous knowledge and skills of counseling in education curriculum and training for its sustainability was recommended for upgrading. Obtaining dietetic licensure in Ontario requires completion of a Dietitians of Canada (DC) accredited four-year undergraduate degree in nutrition and an accredited post-graduate internship or combined Master’s degree program. Given the scarcity of internship positions in Ontario, each year approximately two-thirds of the eligible applicants who apply do not receive a position XX, XX, XX, XX, XX, XX, in press). Anecdotally, not securing an internship position is known to be a particularly disconcerting experience that has significant consequences for individuals’ personal, financial, and professional well-being. However, no known empirical research has yet explored students’ experiences of being unsuccessful in applying for internship positions. Fifteen individuals who applied between 2005 and 2009 to an Ontario-based dietetic internship program, but were unsuccessful at least once, participated in a one-on-one semi-structured interview. Findings reveal that participants’ experiences unfold successively in four phases that are characterized by increasingly heightened emotional peril: naïveté, competition, devastation, and frustration. The authors conclude that the current model of dietetic education and training in Ontario causes lasting distress to students and hinders the future growth and vitality of the dietetic profession. Further research is required to understand the impact of the current model on dietetic educators, internship coordinators, and preceptors as coincident participants in the internship application process.

At the present stage, many colleges all introduce information technology into the education. In recent years, there are much application of information technology in physical education. The technology in teaching makes the class content more abundant. In the meanwhile, it relieves teachers’ workload to a large extent, and improves students’ studying enthusiasm. At present, college physical education curriculum has started to introduce advanced information educational technology. This paper mainly analyzes the specific application of information technology in physical education.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to outline a two-year project designed to reduce health inequalities and improve health outcomes of people with intellectual disabilities using health services in South London by raising awareness and increasing health staff confidence and capability. Design/methodology/approach The project was conducted in two stages. In stage 1, a mapping exercise was undertaken to establish existing intellectual disabilities education and training availability. In stage 2, a network of stakeholders was formed and education and training materials were developed and delivered. Findings A formal evaluation of the project is underway and this paper seeks to share information about the project. That said prima facie data appear to indicate that health staff who attended education and training events learned new knowledge and skills that they could implement in their practice, increasing confidence and capability. Research limitations/implications Health staff who attended the events appeared to have an interest in intellectual disabilities and wanted to increase their knowledge and skills base. This means that there is a significant group of health staff that the project was unable to reach or who may not know that they need to know about intellectual disabilities. The results of the project have not yet been formally analysed. Practical implications Work-based education and training events can have a positive impact on health staff capability and confidence, however, it would appear that only those who already have an interest in the field or recognise its value to their own practice attend such events. To truly capture all health staff intellectual disabilities needs to be visibly included in all health curricula. Originality/value This project has not focussed on one profession or one aspect of healthcare and has embraced the values of inter professional and inter agency learning; this has enabled health staff to learn from each other and think in a “joined up” way replicating the realities of providing healthcare to people with intellectual disabilities.

Internationally, vascular access (VA) surgery is delivered in a varied and diverse fashion and subsequently, training in vascular access is poorly defined. Experience of VA during surgical training has implications on future practice. The scope of VA procedures is increasing, yet the focus in vascular training remains largely in the technical aspects of surgery rather than the more comprehensive aspects of surgery applied to dialysis and renal care. To achieve special skills in vascular access surgery may require a change to traditional training with an additional focus on developing an extended portfolio of knowledge and skills. A small number of specialized courses and training facilities are developing to address these issues.

Lifelong learning is the continuous acquisition of knowledge and skills which occurs throughout life with an emphasis on the full development of personality. Despite the increasing interest of Vietnamese policy makers in promoting lifelong learning, the implementation of lifelong learning at universities is still limited. This research delineated and critiqued the policies and the current practices of lifelong learning at the college level of the Ministry of Education and Training in Vietnam (MOET) under the perspective of critical theory. From the discussion of the policies and practices that the MOET was implementing, recommendations for the policy makers were made with the aim of helping Vietnamese students embrace their right to lifelong learning and fulfill the personal and democratic purpose of education.

Stroke has a negative impact on families who provide care for post-stroke patients, the effect of which is due to functional deficits experienced by post-stroke sufferers which result in dependence on families for daily activities. The research objective was to explore in depth the experiences of families caring for post-stroke sufferers in Jambi city in 2019. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenology approach. Participants in this study amounted to nine people who were selected using purposive sampling. Data is collected by semi-structured interview in duration of 60-90 minutes. Data analysis using the colaizzi method. The results found four themes, namely: dependence on daily activities on the family, family efforts to fulfill self-care activities, constraints faced by caregivers and family expectations. Conclusion: Families experience limited knowledge and skills, difficulties in meeting patients' ADLs, changes in physical conditions, changes in rest and sleep, changes in psychological conditions, changes in social activities, and economic changes. Therefore families need to get education from doctors, nurses and stroke team members starting from the time the patient is admitted to the hospital and re-evaluated when the patient is going home, about the knowledge and skills to treat post-stroke patients at home.

In Ethiopia, medicinal plants had been used since ancient time and became an important source of health care. Though majority of the people in the study area depend on ethnomedicine to manage different ailments, the indigenous knowledge largely is not documented. As a result, an ethnobotanical survey was conducted with the objective of assessing the role of medicinal plants in traditional medicine. Data was collected by using semi-structured interview and group discussion. Twenty informants were purposefully selected based on indigenous knowledge and gender. Ethnobotanical data was analyzed with descriptive statistics and expressed in tables and flow charts. A total of 25 medicinal plants (22 families) recorded to treat human and livestock ailments. Medicinal plant habit analysis indicates that shrubs occupy the highest proportion (36%), followed by trees and herbs (28% for each) and climbers (8%). The most commonly used plant parts in the study area were leaves and roots. Although medicinal plants play a great role in the society, their  sustainability is declining through time in the study area due to the increasing number of users, improper uses of the plants and poor conservation. Therefore, the conservation of these medicinal plants would be important.

In the course of the research, we examined the impact of the selection and training system of a Hungarian automotive company on organizational performance, which together ensure the future development of the company. It contributes to the optimization of sales, purchasing and logistics processes, ensures customer satisfaction and the success of the company. In this fast-paced and globalized world, it is essential for companies to be aware that one of the most important factors of production is human resources themselves, whose proper selection and training are a key element in maintaining and developing economic competitiveness. Human resources play the biggest role in the operation of an economic organization. Process quality and process orientation reduce costs, increase profitability, and improve processes to always meet growing requirements. This is the basis of the quality strategy. Therefore, it consistently applies preventive quality assurance methods, learns from failures, eliminates the causes of mistakes without delays and transfers its experience to all areas of the company for preventive action. It is customer-oriented and strives for excellence in all areas, and thus makes it an obligation for everyone to aim for the highest level of customer service. Due to the special peculiarities and characteristics of the labor force, it cannot be compared to any of the production resources. Taking this as a basis, the human resource management used to be more of a functional purpose, while in recent decades human factors have become an essential source of competitiveness. The market operation and performance of an organization depends significantly on how we can select the most suitable workforce. We need to see what the strategic points that determine the role of HR are, and we are also looking for the answer in which direction the needs, expectations and professionalism given by the generational difference move the activities of human resources. The aim of the research is to get an answer to how the employees of one of the leading Hungarian players in the automotive industry perceive the importance of the selection and training of the workforce in maintaining and improving competitiveness. To this end, we used a semi-structured interview, with the help of which we evaluated the current selection and training processes in the light of competitiveness and made suggestions for the improvement and refinement of these processes.
