The aim of this article is to determine the influence of vedic culture on the development of Ukrainian law. The paper utilises the elements comparative study of law, linguistics, and deductive methods. The vedic culture was rediscovered by Englishmen, when they conquered India. The colonialists discovered, that in this remote Asian country vedic culture was preserved and dominated local people. On the basis of sacred books – Vedas – the complicated system of law was developed. It was fixed in written form in so called Dharma-shastras or Dharma-shustras. The colonial administration had to study Indian law to fulfill its duties. But for European people it was hard to understand its key concept – dharma. Dharma is a very complicated concept, that demonstrates high level of philosophic and legal thought. The indian vedic priests affirmed, that Vedas contain the whole vedic law and can not be changed. That is why the legal custom and law doctrine developed in India. This peculiarity is common for Vedic law and Islamic law. Islam appeared thousands years after Vedas were written. One of the founders of Islamic Law descended from vedic culture. So the author makes the conclusion, that Islamic Law borrowed its concept of interpretation of sacred texts from vedic culture. In XIX century linguistical studies of European scientists revealed the unexpected proximity of Indian and European languages and cultures. So scientists invented the term "indo-european". But historical science ignored the results of linguistical studies and localized vedical culture only in India. Linguistical, archeological and written data show, that vedic culture, believes and law dominated on the territory of Ukraine for many thousands of years. Rus people (now called the Ukrainians) worshiped vedic gods and had their own Vedas. But Vedas were stolen by Ortodox Christian Church. This history is known thanks to "The Book of Veles", written by Rus (Ukrainian) vedic priests in IX century. Modern Ukrainian linguists show the parallels between sanscrit, hindi and Ukrainian words about state and law. In XIX century many monuments with inscriptions were found in Crimea, that revealed the vedic origins of Europe. Most of them were taken by Russians and Englishmen and now are kept in Russian and British museums. One of them directly indicates on usage of Dharma-shastras in Crimea in III century A.D. The Vedas is the most ancient source of Ukrainian law. It is the basis of its development.

The striking fact that the Buddha has been officially enrolled in the list of the saints of the Christian Church has very naturally attracted much attention to the book to which this strange result is due. This book, a romance in Greek, founded on some unknown Buddhist life of the Buddha, was ascribed in some of the later MSS. to St. John of Damascus, and this was the view held by scholars until the publication in 1886 of the masterly monograph by M. H. Zotenberg (Notices sur la livre de Barlaam et Joasaph). He there shows conclusively that the John who was the author of the romance was not John of Damascus, but a monk of the convent of St. Saba near Jerusalem, who wrote it in the commencement of the seventh century A.D. This romance, whose hero, though really the Buddha, appealed so strongly to the sympathies of the Christians, that they raised him to the rank of a saint, contains, besides the description of the life and character of the hero, a number of fables, some of which have been traced back to the Buddhist Jataka book, while the source of others is still unknown. This being so, it becomes of great importance to ascertain the earliest form of the story. Now it is admitted that the numerous versions of it in various European languages (of which a list is given in my ‘ Buddhist Birth Stories,’ vol. i. pp. xcv and foll.)

This paper is concerned with the process, problems, and politics of knowledge transfer in King Leopold's Congo. Since European languages were infrequently taught in Congo schools, the availability of printed materials in local African languages served as the primary means of achieving literacy and subsequently knowledge beyond that learned through practical experience. With the exception of Swahili, used in the Eastern Congo as a lingua franca, none of the several dozen major languages or the several hundred minor languages and dialects spoken in the Congo Basin had been reduced to written form before modern missionaries established themselves there beginning in 1879. Between 1879 and 1908, when the Congo was the personal possession of Leopold II, nineteen Congolese languages were reduced to written form and more than 400 titles in these languages were published. To the sophisticated modern reader such a narrow choice of literature may seem unworthy of study. But this printed media stock--primers, readers, textbooks, religious tracts, Gospels, and magazines--was all that was available to some tens of thousands of seekers after literacy and the major printed communications between Westerners and Africans in the Congo Basin. This fact, alone, gives such materials significance. Most of this literature was prepared for use in elementary schools. In 1908, when King Leopold's Congo was annexed by the Belgian Parliament, some 46,000 pupils of all ages were enrolled in colonial schools. Another 50,000 had probably attended these schools between 1879 and 1908. Over ninety-nine percent of these pupils attended schools run by eighteen mission societies (nine Protestant and nine Catholic).

Grand uprising led by Pugachev seized a vast area from the middle reaches of the Volga, the Urals and the Kazakh steppes. Thousands of people from different classes and nationalities joined rebellious Ural Cossacks in 1773. From the beginning, the uprising was of antimonarchic, not noble character, although its leader, and posed as a resurrected Emperor Peter III. During two years since 1773 the rebels were holding at bay the entire Russian Empire, becoming a real threat to the power of Catherine II. Pugachev's Rebellion is a subject of numerous works of Russian historians, writers, articles, research journalists and ethnographers. But perhaps the most famous "History of Pugachev" is written by a classic of Russian literature Alexander Pushkin. His work became one of the first (if not the first) serious historical studies on Pugachev's Rebellion. The historical science of XIX century, especially its first half, doesn't know many writings on the uprising. The fact that historians did not dare to write about Pugachev and the events that took place in 1773-1775 years, as Catherine II prohibited even mention the uprising. The decree of the senate ordered even rename the place, where the described events took place, for example, the Yaik river and Yaitsk town in order "to bring all that has happened to eternal oblivion." The famous historian S.M. Solovyov did not have advance to write about Pugachev. Death interrupted his work when his 29 volume ws in process, which he planned to complete with the execution of the leader of the uprising. Russian historian V.O. Klyuchevskii did not write many pages devoted to Pugachev as well. The author of this article visited the places, where the events took place, and repeated the journey of A.S. Pushkin, who visited the region in 60years after Pugachev's Rebellion. By talking with the locals, visiting ancient towns and villages, I sought to find out what has now preserved since ancient times, whether it is possible today to see evidence of the uprising or the famous trip of A.S. Pushkin.

AbstractWith insights drawn from legitimacy theory undergirding perceived relative factors expected to influence the level of Web-Based Financial Reporting Disclosure (WBFRD), this paper sheds light on the level of the Web-Based Financial Reporting Disclosure (WBFRD) in selected banks in the KSA in 2017. Several gauges exist for measuring the level of transparency and disclosure practices. As a result of the unique characteristics of the banking sectors operating in the KSA under the Sharia-compliant (Islamic) law, however, the researcher eschewed employing Standard & Poor’s Transparency and Disclosure checklist. Accordingly, the researcher designed a 90-item index based on metrics identified in previous studies. The selected banks in the KSA evince a high level of Web-Based Financial Reporting Disclosure (WBFRD) on the order of 76%. Regression analysis indicates a positive association between the independent variables Bank Size, Bank age, and Profitability on one side, and the dependent variable Web-Based Financial Reporting Disclosure (WBFRD) on the other side.

This comparative research is dedicated to the attitude of the residents of PRC and Russia towards the practices of digital profiling and social score (ranking / grading) that are currently being implemented worldwide. Analysis is conducted on the results of interviewing the Chinese citizens, as well as sociological survey carried out among the Russian residents. The interviewing of the Chinese citizens was conducted in two stages: September 2020 via questionnaire in a written form; and March 2021, through the web platform CrowdSignal. The survey of the Russian residents was carried out from September 8, 2021 to October 26, 2021 in the form of filling out a printed questionnaire, as well as through the web platform. The conducted interviews demonstrate a high level of confidence of Chinese youth in the practices of collecting and processing personal information that were adopted in China, as well as the government initiatives on implementation of the score mechanisms in public administration. Unlike the Chinese citizens, the Russian residents including youth, to a considerable extent are inclined towards distrust in the government and namely private commercial companies with regards to their method of collecting and use personal information. A significant part of the Russian residents have not yet made up their mind on digital profiling and social credit system, or are cautious of such innovations.

Biographical method is based on the theory of humanistic direction. It involves subjective assessments of facts, social consulting, access to a high level of generalization. In historical science and literary work with biographies it is a traditional genre. In sociology, the study of biographies was formed in the method of the microsociological paradigm of “soft” data analysis. The architectonic of method consists in a flexible construction of chosen techniques and procedures. The paper details the author’s method of analyzing life scenarios. This technique in the structure of the complex biographical techniques helps the respondent understand the tragic eventfulness of their life, to make a choice to change the script. This choice determines the future success of the respondent and their descendants. The conclusions are drawn on the basis of the author’s using the biographical method in studies of the fate of the Siberians and social consulting with clients.
