The idea of the 'saviour' has been an interesting subject matter for many specialists for a very long time. Its interset can be attributed to many reasons, probably the most important one is religion. Allusions to the saviour seem to be present in almost all religions, heavenly or earthly. It has been noted that even the pagan tribes believe in the existence of a saviour as a part of their cultures and traditions. Another reason stems back to man's weakness as a living creature and his constant need for a natural, or supernatural, power to save him from misery, oppression, injustice, ...etc. The saviour could be a superbeing or human being. For instance, Beowulf is looked at as a saviour, and King Arthur was, for a long time, thought to be a saviour that one day he will come and save his people, and many legends have been written in this respect. The aim of this study is to highlight the 'saviour' as a concept in Samuel Becket's play Waiting for Godot and explore its interpretations as tackled by two 'schools': The Theatre of the Absurd and Existentialism, then compare it to the concept of the saviour from Islam's point of view. The study falls into four chapters. Chapter one is devoted to outline the 'saviour' as a term, the belief in the presence of the saviour in general, and how the idea of the saviour is looked at by different writers and philosophers. Chapter two highlights the principles of the Theatre of the Absurd that are concerned with the 'saviour' and how those principles are reflected in the play. It also shows how 'waiting' becomes adherent to the word 'saviour'. Thereafter, the existentialism philosophy is examined since the principles of the Theatre of the Absurd are closely related to the it. Chapter three is spared for showing the concept of the saviour in  Islam in general, and in the Shia sect in specific. In order to accomplish this aim, some Quranic verses and Hadiths (reports of  Prophet Mohamed's teachings collected after His death) are presented as examples to show the belief in the existence of the Saviour (Mahdi) in Islam. Finally, the study ends with chapter four which, in the light of the research findings, compares the image of the saviour in Waiting for Godot and Islam.

The article summarizes the key points in the development of the metadialogue phenomenon from a linguistic point of view. Some stages of the development of this concept and the difficulties associated with its structuring are covered. The main research findings of modern foreign and domestic experts on its study are considered. Some characteristics of the subject of the research from the standpoint of various pragmatic installations are given. On the basis of the dynamic structure of the metadialogue development, certain principles of semantic relations connected with the dialectical nature of human cognition are presented. Excursion into the history and evolution of the concept is presented. Several types of formulation of the subject matter are given. In accordance with the goal of speech exposure, internal problems of the development of metadialogue are highlighted and the critical points related to solving these problems are described. The rules of metadialogue flow are explained at the level of steps, the success/failure of which directly affects the final result of communication. The prospects of development of the concept research in accordance with various types of discourse are indicated.

From 1940 to 1960 some of modern drama’s most famous plays were staged: Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire (1947) and Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman (1949), attaining a new kind of tragedy and a particularly American brand of realism; and, in London, Beckett’s Waiting for Godot (1955) and John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger (1956), introducing, respectively, the ‘theatre of the absurd’ and a new linguistic and emotional brutality, inaugurating an era of ‘kitchen sink’ realism. ‘Salesmen, southerners, anger, and ennui’ shows how these radically different dramas expanded plays’ subject matter as well as their formal and linguistic properties; in particular, they changed forever the way language (and silence) worked on stage.

Optimizing area and speed in parallel prefix circuits has been considered important for a long time. The issue of power consumption in these circuits, however, has not been addressed. This paper presents a comparative study of different parallel prefix circuits from the point of view of power–speed trade-off. An effective circuit capacitance model that is verified through PSpice simulations is used to investigate the power consumption in parallel prefix circuits. The model results in an analytical function for power consumption for each prefix circuit considered. The degrees of freedom studied include different parallel prefix circuits and voltage scaling. The results of the study were applied to evaluate power–speed trade-offs when different prefix circuits are used in Brent's parallel adder.5

Databases have been established for a long time as an efficient and reliable technology for organizing and storing data in almost all areas of human activity. In addition to their widespread use in the operational activities of practically all enterprises and organizations, they are also sources of data for research and analysis of economic processes. Databases were developed rapidly in the second half of the 20th century and as a result relational databases emerged, which are an extremely powerful tool for storing and accessing data. Since the beginning of the 21st century, with the extraordinary increase in the volume of stored and processed information, as well as the significant part of unstructured and semi-structured information, a new type of databases, named NoSQL databases, have emerged and developed. The article attempts to define the characteristics of different types of databases, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages and outlining their areas of application on this basis. The trends in the development of the databases from the point of view of the author are also presented.

The tourist sector, despite the present severe constraints imposed by the sanitary emergence, can be considered as an important component of almost all countries’ economies. In Italy agriturism, in particular, has been experiences a continuously rising trend in recent years. Clearly, such great interest towards these businesses also calls for a deep attention by an energy point of view, in sight of an energy efficiency improvement, hence a lowering of the pressure that such facilities exert to the natural environment. On the other hand, the European Union has been engaged, for a long time, in awarding the tourist accommodations environmental excellence brands, like the EU Ecolabel. Unfortunately, the achievement of such excellence brands requires the capability of managing complex energy and environmental data, which is often not the prerogative of people running such facilities. In order of contributing to overcome this difficulty, and with the aim of helping the addressing of agritourism towards a Nearly Zero Energy path, we propose here a simple approach that does not require the modelling and simulation of the energy behaviour of an agritourism, being essentially based on the application of easy-to-use ARERA (Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy Networks and Environment) datasheets scheme. On purpose, an application of the method, involving two typical Sicilian agritourism, is presented. The obtained results showed the viability of the proposed methodology, although the need of an update and/or replacement of some technical datasheets arose.

Historically, statistics arose from the needs of society in obtaining information about the state of production, markets for goods and services, labor, as well as from the need to analyze the data for further socioeconomic development. For a long time, statistics have been understood as the science of collecting, processing, and analyzing quantitative indicators on the dynamics of mass phenomena and processes, which is the most important tool for implementing state plans and tasks. One of the classics of statistics, V. Pokrovsky wrote as early as 1874: “... Statistical figures are the best way to verify the correctness and appropriateness of measures used for public improvement. ... But for statistics to be of such importance, it is necessary to use its data with extreme caution and impartiality. ... The widest variety of opinions exists on almost all public issues, and each opinion tries to find support in statistical facts and figures. ... It is not the fault of statistics that every political party uses statistics for its own purposes, that statistics support the most unjust and absurd opinions”. [1]In our time, this statement has not lost its relevance, because very often, using the same statistical indicators, politicians, economists, scientists to justify their point of view, give directly opposite results. But is there a clear understanding of statistics in modern society? What is the value of statistics? What is the statistical literacy of the population? Do people need to learn the language of numbers? In the proposed paper, the author sets out the view on these issues and invites you to join the discussion of the issues raised.

POLISH INTERPRETATIONS OF TOTALITARIANISM: ON SOME OF THE RESULTS OF THE WORKS CARRIED OUT AT THE WITOLD PILECKI CENTRE FOR RESEARCH ON TOTALITARIANISMThe theory and practice of totalitarianism, despite the passage of time since the collapse of the systems showing its features in Europe, still arouses intellectual curiosity. This subject matter is also particularly interesting from the Polish point of view, as the native reflection on the subject reaching back in the tradition of political and legal thought to the interwar period shows the richness of often innovative research findings made by several generations of scientists in Poland and abroad. The subject of their exploration concerns not only the constitutive assumptions of totalitarianism and its fascist, Nazi and communist systemic forms, but also the peculiar domestic experiences that accompanied the inhabitants of Polish lands during World War II and the Cold War. This unique historical situation, in which the Republic of Poland had been entangled, creatively provokes to discover, archive and popularize knowledge in this field. Thus, it obliges to perpetuate materially and mentally important and tragic Polish experiences. Numerous publications, showing above all the perspective of the Polish interpretation, also make it possible to confront the positions of Polish researchers with the scientific findings from other parts of the world, as well as to take part in the international discourse with full legitimacy. The abovementioned motives were undoubtedly the main reasons for the creation of the collective work Experiencing two totalitarianisms: Interpretations published this year by the Witold Pilecki Centre for Research on Totalitarianism. Apart from other publications on totalitarian systems analysis, which have been published in Poland in recent years, it is an important research contribution to a subject which is completely unknown mainly as a result of the practices of the People’s Republic of Poland, but which is necessary in order to consolidate and settle accounts with the difficult past. This work can also be considered scientifically attractive because of the interdisciplinary historical, political, philosophical-political, legal and literary approach to the subject matter intended by its authors and editors.

Fitness centers are currently successfully implementing the population's request for preventive care. The aim of the study is to analyze the resources of a fitness center from the point of view of competitive stability in the health services industry. For this purpose, a structured expert interview (n=38) has been used. The concept of D. Barney was used to assess the resource state. The results and conclusions demonstrate that almost all resources are interchangeable, with the exception of human resources (the organization has a large number of employees who have been working in the company for a long time) and customer databases. The state of human resources is the most complex in the fitness industry as they are both unique, rare and valuable according to Barney's classification.

The R&D has been recognized as critical method to take competitiveness by not only companies but also nations with its value creation such as patent value and new product. Therefore, R&D has been a decision maker’s burden in that it is hard to decide how much money to invest, how long time one should spend, and what technology to develop which means it accompanies resources such as budget, time, and manpower. Although there are diverse researches about R&D evaluation, business factors are not concerned enough because almost all previous studies are technology oriented evaluation with one R&D technology based. In that, we early proposed R&D business aspect evaluation model which consists of nine business model components. In this research, we develop a simulation model and system evaluating a company or industry’s R&D portfolio with business model point of view and clarify default and control parameters to facilitate evaluator’s business validity work in each evaluation module by integrate to one screen.

An analysis of the trends in ghazal based on the reader response theory is called reading tendency. Here, the work is analyzed based on the impersonal reading without any relation to the author's opinion. Examples of ghazals are presented representatively when analyzing the work. The ghazal collection itself is considered as the primary source material and the secondary sources include the texts related to ghazal theory, critical works, critical articles and research materials. In this article, the analysis is based on the basic tenets of ghazal and reader response theory. The analysis is based on the structural and thematic angles out of the structural, thematic, semantic and stylistic bases of the reader’s responses. Although there is abundant use of the components of ghazals like structured uses of the alphabets, sher, kafia, radif and takhallus, there does not seem uniformity in the use of sher and the alphabets. The use of takhallus also seems to have been used without following the basic tenets of the ghazal theory. Looking at the thematic aspect of ghazals, the subject matter of almost all ghazals is romantic or erotic (coincidentally) but the content of one ghazal seems to be less erotic but more Nepali cultural. Similarly, some ghazals in the collection are very vulgar both verbally and emotionally. However, from the point of view of subject matter, the ghazals have been presented in Musalsal.]
