From a sociological point of view, the article examines the problem of differentiation of Russian schools, which came in the post-Soviet era to replace the relative equality of educational opportunities. The differentiation of schools, presumably, did not lead to the differentiation of Russian teachers. In general, there are few studies comparing schools and teachers in different schools by any parameter. The everyday practices of teachers are also poorly studied by both sociology and social psychology and social pedagogy. The current moment of time is unique because the restrictions introduced during the pandemic have created new conditions for the work of educational institutions. In this regard, it was decided to study the differences in the attitude of school teachers that have the status of a gymnasium or lyceum, and schools that do not have such a status, to the conditions and opportunities for the manifestation of activity and initiatives, as well as differences in the practices of professional activity, including during pandemics. The research method is a questionnaire survey. The empirical object was the teachers of the middle and senior level of secondary schools in the city of Novosibirsk. Differences in teachers› perception of conditions and opportunities for the manifestation of activity were revealed, as well as differences in the practices of manifestation of activity, indicating a more favorable situation in gymnasiums and lyceums than in schools. There were no types of teacher activity in which school teachers would be more active than teachers of gymnasiums and lyceums. A common problem for teachers in both types of educational institutions is overload, which is felt more strongly by teachers in gymnasiums and lyceums. The possibilities of attracting outside organizations of specialists to the school are discussed as a solution to the problem of teacher overload and elimination of inequality of opportunities.

Collaboration in all educational institutions including pre-school establishments is a topical issue especially within the framework of competence-based learning approaches. The aim of the study was to find out what is the collaboration between pre-school and parents in relation to the acquisition of pre-school curriculum which in Latvia is defined as compulsory for children in the age of 5 to 6 (7) years. A quantitative approach was used in the research and two surveys were conducted in April 2020. Both parents and pre-school teachers who work with 5 to 6 (7) year old children were asked to participate in the on-line survey, which was developed in the platform VisiDati.lv. Analysis of collaboration between parents and preschool was based on the framework of six types of school-family-community involvement created by J.L. Epstein. The research analysis revealed that pre-school teachers and parents have different understandings of the child’s need for parental support so that parents can get involved and promote the acquisition of compulsory pre-school curriculum. Teachers and parents have clear communication channels to fully exchange the necessary information, however, to form collaboration, teachers have difficulties in developing individual curricula in some cases. The research results are useful to understand what hinders cooperation and how to improve it.

The article substantiates the criteria and indicators of formation of secondary school teachers’ readiness to use Internet technologies in their professional activity. Modern education reform and the introduction of new educational content encourage teachers to use innovative methods and e-learning text-books, which requires new approaches to teacher training and self-education in the inter-certification period. Pedagogical conditions of development of teachers’ readiness to use Internet technologies are considered and pedagogical expediency of using Internet technologies in teachers’ work is revealed, taking into account the content and specifics of teachers’ pedagogical activity in educational institutions. The use of traditional teaching aids along with Internet technologies allows teachers to improve teaching significantly as well as make the learning process more interesting, diverse and intensive. Internet-technologies are an effective means of communication between all participants of the educational process, which is realized through various chats and Internet conferences. Taking into account the specificity of secondary school teachers’ professional activity, appropriate criteria and indicators were chosen, namely, motivational, integrative, work-relevant and other criteria. We defined gnostic, project, constructive, organizational, communicative, didactic, managerial, intellectual, research and professional skills, which are crucial for teachers’ professional readiness. It is emphasized that the content of motivational, integrative and work-relevant criteria determines the strategy of teachers’ professional behavior. On the basis of the above-mentioned criteria and indicators of their manifestation, low, average, sufficient and high levels of secondary school teachers’ readiness for the use of Internet technologies in their work are distinguished. It is shown that these criteria and their indicators provide an opportunity to obtain empirical data required for experimental research and to gain pedagogical insights for creating an original technology of formation of secondary school teachers’ readiness to use Internet technologies in their professional activity.
