The present article is the final result of the research on the interpretation of musical works for trombone soloist composed by the famous conductor, Maestro Duda, developed in the Postgraduate Program in Music of the Music School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (PPGMUS-UFRN). With this research, we could make interpretative suggestions that would help the trombonist in the preparation and execution procedures of the studied works: Two Dances (Gizelle and Marquinho in Frevo), Fantasia for Trumpet and Trombone and Suíte Monette. Therefore, we will present some questions which result from the research related to Maestro Duda, about the musical interpretation, and the main results regarding aspects and interpretative suggestions in the works studied

This article is devoted to the study of musical text in the context of the Plato ontology. Our task is to show the process of cognitive comprehension of a musical text as an ontological and hermeneutic reflection. It is fundamentally important for the author to become acquainted with two basic philoso-phical positions, showing fundamentally opposite views on the musical ontology as a whole. To reveal the existence of a musical text at the ontological and hermeneutic levels, we need to develop the neces-sary tools to “subtract” the authentic meanings that underlie the creation of the creator of the text. In the context of the problem under study, we will get acquainted with the various ontological positions of philosophers such as Peter Kivy, Jerome Levinson and other thinkers. Observing, for example, the invisible controversy of Kiwi and Levinson, we can track two radically opposite approaches to the study of musical text. Developing the position of classical Platonism that musical compositions are discovered rather than created, Peter Kivy shows us musical works as discovered eternal types. The opposite position is that of Jerome Levinson, showing a musical composition as a soluble idea, which lies in the potentiality of the author. This approach criticizes the idea of combining musical creations with Platonic universals (Kivy), arguing, on the contrary, about the author’s onto-logical principle. Choosing one of the approaches to understanding the authentic intent of the author’s text, we need to establish the primary and secondary levels of reflection. Given the direct relationship between the author and the interpreter of the text, it is important for us to identify the ontological conditions for the emergence of the text as the primary level of reflective immersion. The level of hermeneutic exist-ence, which implies the conditions and variability of the musical variant of the text, we will attribute to second-order reflection. Thus, in the context of the Plato ontology, it is important for us to identify the uniqueness of the historical text and show the self-existence of its existence. In this regard, the author comes to the con-clusion that the moment of birth of the text is in intuitive experience as an eternal idea that does not depend on anything and does not go anywhere. This level is the most basic, since the fact of fixing the idea of the text in direct graphics is secondary, and having recognized the graphics, the transcriptor creates the interpretation-thing of the idea, just trying to establish similarity as the principle of com-munication. An attempt to establish this connection in the form of a musical interpretation is multivari-ate and coincides with the original idea only partially. As a result, at the hermeneutic level, scoring of musical notations enlivens the musical being of the text, but at the same time alienates us from under-standing its original idea.

A Latin palindrome was discovered in the ruins of Pompeii, wich was destroyed by an eruptionof the Vesuvius in the year 79AD. That palindrome reappeared in the town of Exaceter in the 4th century, during the Roman occupation of Britain. In 1992, in the district of Capão Grande, Cruz Alta, in the state ofRio Grande do Sul, an ALERS-Project researcher came across the same Latin palindrome. What makes thattext so remarkable as to have been preserved for such a long time in the popular culture of communities sodiverse and far removed in place and time? The present article intends to establish that relation.

The present article focuses on the technique and art of the so-called exegesis, the traditional interpretation of the kalophonic piece Ἀπόλαυε τῶν θαυμάτων τὰς ἰάσεις – Enjoy, seing the miraculous healings, in honor of St Demetrios, by St John Koukouzeles, in the first authentic mode. It is based on the manuscripts Zakynthos 7, Metochion Panagiou Taphou 728, and three Anthologia from the Music School of the Putna Monastery, and highlights several exegetical procedures through microsyntactical and generative analyses of chosen passages of the piece. The profile of the kalophonic melody revealed through the slow exegesis is mainly characterized by stepwise up-and-down movements of the voice around and between the structural notes, with few skips only, and in a perfect balance with the poetical text, which emerges for the singer and the listener syllable by syllable, carried on a continuous melodic flow, a sort of Byzantine ‘unendliche Melodie’.

We consider and examine the scientific essence of the category of artistic image as a special phenomenon necessary for the implementation of the author’s idea. The relevance of the research lies in the fact that there is a need to develop new pedagogical conditions for the success-ful development of performing skills using the modern repertoire. Attention is focused on the fact that the performance of musical works by modern composers is interesting to children, since they most accurately reflect the existing trends and directions of the world around them, and therefore the figurative sphere is not far-fetched, but natural and simple. Cycles of children’s plays by clas-sical and modern composers are presented in a systematic form, and their analytical review is conducted. It is emphasized that the involvement of knowledge in the field of children’s cycles and individual plays by modern composers allows us to take a new look at the process of development of performing skills of primary school students. We substantiate and analyze the relationship between agogic deviations and technical skills in the process of implementing an artistic image during a concert performance. It is concluded that a complete bright and rich performance of the work is impossible without the emotional and aesthetic development of the student.

Published originally by the Undergraduate Awards Library in 2014, the present article focuses on the little-known Iranian musician Bozkido, who, through the act of electronic manipulation, transforms repetitious Iranian advertisements and platitudes into not only musical works of art, but also an act of rebellion. His performance not only objects to Iranian culture industry, but also emphasizes the importance of an audience as well a proper space in furthering this act. The paper will deconstruct this act of rebellion by scrutinizing the local culture industry in Iran, and then contrasting it with the atmosphere created in this particular underground setting. It will attempt to understand the impact of such a small-scale performance in the grand scheme of the country’s youth movement, and it will analyze the importance of space in engendering it. By manipulating and satirizing the common sounds of the Iranian culture industry in a small, underground concert space, artists such as Bozkido provide a tiny fraction of Tehran’s student population shelter from the atmosphere above-ground, while also fostering a new technocultural community in the city centered on music and cohesion.

The article presents the issue regarding activation of artistic and interpretative activities of the students majoring in musical specialties at higher pedagogical educational institutions. The artistic-interpretative activity is considered as a factor of students’ creative development, growth and self-realization. The method of categorical analysis of the issue “interpretation” facilitated the establishment of a number of its values which were considered and implemented in the step-by-step experimental methods of training future music teachers in interpreting musical works. The course and results of the ascertaining stage of the pedagogical experiment have been presented. Based on the hermeneutical and artistic-mental approaches, the experimental methods of training students in interpreting musical works have been elaborated and presented. A wide range of methods of instrumental learning, performing exercises and independent artistic-interpretative tasks that determine the hierarchy of stages (initial-establishing, content-oriented and technological, analytical-final) of the presented methodology has been considered. The effectiveness of the text-centric paradigm of teaching in the practice of instrumental training of the future music teachers basing on a complex use of individual teaching methods alongside with dialogical methods of performing immersion, palliative and facilitation has been proved. The introduction of the lecture course “Fundamentals of Musical Interpretation”, the use of a complex of methods (analytical, practical, creative) and various artistic and interpretative tasks contributed to the increase of the respondents’ motivational orientation and activity as well as the increase of their interest in the artistic and interpretative activities. The results of the research and experimental work on the implementation of the methodology of training future music teachers in interpreting musical works testify to its expediency and effectiveness. Keywords: hermeneutical approach, interpretation, musical work, artistic and interpretive activity, teachers of Music.

Arte.   From the Outside In – Natal   Abstract   The present article deals with reflections on the project, From the Outside In – Natal, (Projeto De fora adentro -- Natal), which is part of the Nucleus of Art and Culture at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte/PROEX (Núcleo de Arte e Cultura [NAC] da UFRN/ PROEX). These reflections emerged from the intersection of concepts in the phenomenology of the imagination by Gaston Bachelard (twisting, vertigo, elasticity, zero gravity, lightness) with testimony of visitors at the opening of the show that occurred at 62° SBPC in Natal. The project From the Outside In- Natal, through a methodology characterized as investigative, creative and conscientious, has as a main objective to develop, distribute, and popularize scientific trans-disciplinary research and its results, for the general public, to promote greater understanding, and a less fragmented perspective about human relationships and the environment. To achieve these aims the Project develops, composes and exhibits artistic and interactive products for distinct age groups, constituting traveling exhibitions with ludic-pedagogic-sensorial activities, which foment a cognitive-sensitizing experience of recognition-register, belonging, care and dissemination of the city’s natural and cultural patrimony. Keywords: Dynamic Imagination; Popular Science; Patrimonial Education; Art.
