The purpose of this study was to determine of the competitiveness of vocational high school graduates towards learning outcome in Central Lombok Regency. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a research model that has been implemented by Bikse. The method used in this study is a survey. The population in this study were graduates from four Vocational Schools in Central Lombok Regency consisting of 2 State Vocational Schools namely: Vocational High School 1 of Praya Barat and Vocational High School 1 of Central Praya and 2 private Vocational Schools namely Tastura AZ-zikro Mangkung Vocational School and Al-Makrif Islamic Vocational School totaling 430 person. The study sample was 207 as obtained by using the proportional stratifaid random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was adapted from a questionnaire developed by Bikse. Data analysis techniques in this study used inferential statistics. The results showed that vocational school graduates in Central Lombok Regency had competitiveness and competitiveness of Vocational High School graduates in Central Lombok Regency had been quite good even though the expectations of graduates were greater than the reality faced today:Key Words: Competitiveness; vocational high school graduates

Indonesian demographic premium with profile of productive age dominated by general high school graduates negatively affects national productivity levels. As an institution that produces skilled labour, vocational schools should be an institution that is expected to be a solution to increase labour productivity. As a government strategy to overcome these problems, the Presidential Instruction No. 09 of 2016 to revitalise the vocational school aimed at improving the competence of Vocational High School graduates. The study uses a mixed method with document analysis, interviews and also questionnaires, the results of this study explain that the Vocational High School in Indonesian does not meet the standard of the industry. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that this study is in line with the expected results.

This research aims to determine the extent of the influence of family environment, peers, and learning achievement on the interest in continuing education to higher education in the XI class of accounting skills competencies in Padang City Vocational School simultaneously and partially. There are two Vocational Schools namely Padang State Vocational High School 2 and Padang State Vocational High School 3. This means that the population in this study was all students of class XI Accounting of Vocational Schools 2 Padang, amounting to 121 people and Vocational Schools 3 Padang totaling 83 people. From a total of 204 populations, the sampling method used was proportional random sampling technique with a total sample of 127 students. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. For data analysis methods used are descriptive and associative analysis and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that there were influences on the family environment, peers, and learning achievement towards the interest in continuing to higher education simultaneously at 24.8%. Partially the family environment influences the interest in continuing to higher education. Whereas peers do not influence the interest in continuing their education to college. Likewise, for learning achievement does not affect the interest in continuing to higher education.Keyword: family environment, peers, learning achievement

ABSTRACT: Vocational School is one of the educational unit level institutions, whose role is to create qualified and competent human resources in their fields for the needs of the business and industry. Unfortunately, the needs of the business and industry for a competent workforce still cannot be met, because the quality of the existing Vocational Schools is still lacking. The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimization of the absorption of vocational graduates needed by the business and industry world in an effort to achieve a balance of the labour market in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. This study was using a qualitative approach with secondary and primary data analysis methods. This research was conducted in East Java Province in 2018, by holding discussions with Vocational Schools, Companies, and the East Java Provincial Education Office. The results of this study are required for the integration process of the three educational institutions (vocational, courses, and training), which organize vocational education into three things, namely: sharing resources; integrating the learning process; and equalizing minimum service standards.KEY WORD: Vocational; Labour; Industrial Revolution 4.0. ABSTRAKSI: “Mengoptimalkan Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan untuk Mempersiapkan Era Revolusi Industri 4.0”. Sekolah Kejuruan adalah salah satu lembaga tingkat unit pendidikan yang berperan untuk menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas dan kompeten di bidangnya untuk kebutuhan bisnis dan industri. Sayangnya, kebutuhan bisnis dan industri untuk tenaga kerja yang kompeten masih belum dapat dipenuhi, karena kualitas Sekolah Kejuruan yang ada masih kurang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis optimalisasi penyerapan lulusan kejuruan yang dibutuhkan oleh dunia usaha dan industri dalam upaya untuk mencapai keseimbangan pasar tenaga kerja di era revolusi industri 4.0. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis data sekunder dan primer. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Provinsi Jawa Timur pada tahun 2018, dengan mengadakan diskusi dengan Sekolah Kejuruan, Perusahaan, dan Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Timur. This is a quantitative research which is done to the twelfth class of Accounting competence program of Ten State Vocational High School Surabaya. This research aims at finding out the influence of ethical content in Finance Accounting Teaching and Student’s Learning Achievement to the Student’s Profession Ethical Perception of the twelfth class students of Accounting Competence Program Department of Surabaya Ten State Vocational High School.The sample is taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The amount of sample is 89 out of 114 students of the twelfth class of Accounting competence program department of Surabaya Ten State Vocational High School students.The Research Instrument Test is done first before taking the data. It covers the validity test and the reliability one. The method of collecting data is documentation and questionnaire. Analysis Prerequisite Test which is done is normality test, multicolonirity test, and heterocedasticity test. The analysis done in this research is doubled linear regression one. The result of the research shows that there is  positive and significant influence of ethical content in Finance Accounting Teaching to the student’s profession ethical perception. This is shown by t-count  as many as 5.133 with the significant score of 0.000 under the determined significant score standard of 0.05. While student’s learning achievement does not influence significantly to the student’s profession ethical perception. This is shown by t-count as many as 0.765 with the significant score of 0.446 above the determined significant standard as many as 0.05. However, there is positive influence simultaneously of the ethical content in Finance Accounting Teaching and the student’s profession ethical perception.

Vocational High School is the biggest contributor to unemployment in the area, many supporting factors such as the unstable condition of the company. Basically, that is not all, the teaching process for these Vocational Schools is at the forefront of the increase in the unemployment rate of SMK graduates. From the results of community service activities, the following conclusions are obtained: (1) With the community service at Adiwerna District 1 Vocational High School, giving at Adiwerna Nu 1 Vocational School in Tegal Regency, providing knowledge, understanding, and innovation on efficient engine stand overhauls according to operational standards procedure; (2) Speeding up the work when the engine stand overhaul practices in competency subjects overhaul the engine with the SOP tool so as to make students competent in their performance practices.

This research aimed to identify the activities needed by teachers in holding the Continuing Professional Development Program. This research employed survey type of non-experimental quantitative research method. This type of research was used when the author wants to find out the population’s opinion by conducting a study on the sample of population. The population of research consisted of all teachers of Vocational High School in Business and Management field in Surakarta City Residency. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Techniques of collecting data were observation, interview, documentation, and questionnaire. Quantitative data obtained was the one processed using Microsoft Excel with the scale specified by the author, while qualitative data was analyzed using triangulation technique. The result of research showed that Program Continuing Professional Development had been conducted despite different proportion for self-development, scientific publication, and innovative work. Thus, the appropriate strategy was required to solve some problems encountered by teachers

Lack of students enrolling in diploma programs compared to what occurred Germany is a sign that Indonesian high school graduates are discouraged from enrolling in the program. Previous studies have mostly focused on the perception and expectation toward vocational high school, leaving motivation and satisfaction under-researched. The current study aims to look at the motivation of students enrolling at the two-year diploma and how satisfied they are with the program. Factors contributing to their satisfaction would be presented accordingly. The study used a qualitative research approach with a case study design by examining current students at AKN Aceh Barat. A focus group discussion coupled with interview were employed to obtain the data and a total of 23 first year diploma students participated in the study. The study found that students were encouraged to enroll for the diploma program due to practical skill benefit, short durational advantage, and financial constraints of their families. They valued practical skills over theoretical knowledge and a short time of study over four years in college.  The financial constraint also implies that most students enrolled in the program originate from financially unfortunate families. Most students have been satisfied with the program indicating that their initial motivation has been fulfilled. Factors contributing to their satisfaction include practical skills, theoretical knowledge, laboratory facilities, building infrastructure, and the number of students. They have been satisfied with the balance between practical skills and theoretical balance offered by the program yet felt the need for improvement in the other areas.

Smoking behavior is related to public health. Smoking is a behavior that has a tendency to begin during adolescence. Factors that are closely related to smoking behavior in adolescents are knowledge. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about cigarettes and smoking behavior in adolescents in North State Vocational High Schools in 2019. The design used in this research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were male students at North Pagelaran Vocational High School 2018/2019 in 98 students. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling. The sample in this study were 98 respondents. The results of univariate analysis revealed that respondents who had good knowledge were 62 respondents (63.3 percent) and respondents who were light smokers were 46 respondents (46.9 percent). There is a relationship between the level of knowledge about smoking in smoking behavior in adolescents in North State Vocational High School Year 2019 with a p-value of 0,001. For adolescents to start doing healthy behaviors such as exercising regularly as an effort to stop smoking or avoid smoking. Abstrak: Perilaku merokok berkaitan dengan kesehatan masyarakat.Merokok merupakan perilaku yang memiliki kecendrungan dimulai saat masa remaja. Faktor yang berkaitan erat dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja adalah pengetahuan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang rokok dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja di SMKN Pagelaran Utara Tahun 2019. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa laki-laki di SMKN Pagelaran Utara Tahun ajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 98 siswa. Tekhnik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Total sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 98 responden. Hasil Analisa univariat diketahui responden yang memiliki pengetahuan baik sebanyak 62 responden (63,3 persen) dan responden yang merupakan perokok ringan sebanyak 46 responden (46,9 persen). Ada hubungan  antara tingkat pengetahuan tentang rokok perilaku merokok pada remaja di SMKN Pagelaran Utara Tahun 2019 dengan p-value sebesar 0,001. Bagi remaja untuk memulai melakukan perilaku hidup sehat seperti melakukan olah raga secara teratur sebgai upaya berhenti merokok maupun menghindari merokok.

This study aims to find out vocational high school students’ speaking performance in correlation with their motivation to learning English. This study employs a quantitative research method using questionnaire to gather the data. The whole population in this study was the first grade of SMK Negeri 6 Makassar which consists of three classes numbering 86 students. The samples were students from class b which consists of 25 students. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. This study was conducted by distributing questionnaires to students who were respondents and test, after which they were input and analyzed through the SPSS program. The findings revealed that the correlation between motivation and speaking performance for vocational high school students indicated that it was strong enough or categorized as medium correlation. Furthermore, the findings showed that the motivated students usually feel more comfortable in their learning providing the students to speak up confidently wherever they are even although English is considered as a foreign language.

In workplaces, the use of accounting software in business processes is not something new, while most vocational high school graduates still do not understand the use of accounting software. Students who take accounting major, generally have received detailed accounting lessons, but some others are still studied manually. For this reason, trainings are held for Vocational High School students using the methods of: (1) counseling: delivering material in the form of theory. (2) Question and answer; to provide opportunities for participants who still have unclear understanding; (3) Demonstration, in the form of basic accounting material training (basic accounting process manually); (4) Transaction Analysis Practices, and preparation of Financial Statements using Accurate Accounting software. Trainees were students and teachers of Annurmaniayah Vocational School and Budi Mulya Vocational School, Tangerang Banten, and the training was held in the Accounting Laboratory of the Faculty of Economics, University of Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama), on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
