Different Characteristics

Textbook is an element of the educational curriculum as well as the teaching method. The textbook influences students’ understanding, whether it has similar or different characteristics. Therefore, the textbook author must be careful in compling and developing the material. Theaching material is the forms of material used to assist the teacher in carrying out teaching activities. The material must have its own characteristics. The type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive analyisis. The data in this research is the book “Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik Juz Awwal”. The topic in this research is the analysis of the matterial, either from the advantages or this advantages, the steps in this research are: reading the books related to the material of the research, interview between students who learn the book, and analyse accurately of the research. The result of this research is the textbook is quite good in foundations and characteristics of the learning material for non-native speakers.

Elder people have knowledge and experience – they can share them with other people. Seniors can teach young people different things. Their stories can indicate what is important in life and what should be avoided. The article presents the results of qualitative research (interview) on the lessons learned from the life experiences of the older people. The analysis of own research is preceded by the theoretical introduction about wisdom of life. Respondents highlighted mostly the importance of family, health, self-care and relationships with other people (friendship, honesty and respect towards others). Life showed them how important are: faith in God, enjoying every moment, patience in pursuing a goal, independently deciding about own life, realising your dreams, and work. Life experiences showed them how to deal with problems and that a person learns all life. They learned rules such as: money does not bring happiness, you cannot trust everyone, live the present and the good comes back. The elderly said that a person should make efforts to be happy.

Based on the diversification theory, this paper designed a multimedia technology-based English teaching system framework which is used to assist English teaching in classroom. The whole system framework consists of two parts: the part of learning resource allocation and the part of English teaching activities. Learning resource allocation is mainly to expand English learning materials from the traditional printed resources to audios, videos, animations and other forms of resources; the use of multimedia resources for teaching activities is achieved mainly through the English speech teaching and lecturing device designed with the function of playing multimedia files. In order to test the application effect of multimedia technology in English teaching, this paper chose the public course of “Vocational English” as the experimental content, and compared the effect of respectively using multimedia technology to teach freshmen of Grade 2016 and adopting the traditional teaching method to teach students of Grade 2015. The outcome shows that the use of multimedia technology in English teaching can improve students’ interest in learning, reduce their pressure of learning English, and enhance their sense of accomplishment in learning, indicating that multimedia-assisted teaching can effectively improve English teaching results.

Public perception of immigration content at the TPI East Jakarta Class I Immigration Office is very important in determining the quality of information and understanding of immigration provided to the public by focusing on social media Instagram. With some literacy regarding public perceptions it can produce a public view of immigration content that has been disseminated through social media Instagram TPI Class I Immigration Office, East Jakarta. This can be used as study and learning material in seeing some of the shortcomings that must be addressed by the TPI East Jakarta Class I Immigration Office regarding public perceptions of immigration content. With the descriptive qualitative research method, it explains that there are still gaps or shortcomings of immigration content disseminated through social media Instagram TPI Class I Immigration Office, East Jakarta. So it is very necessary to make several further research studies related to public perceptions of immigration content so as to harmonize understanding between the information provider and the recipient of the information.

The application of immigration information technology at the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) is a very important matter to always be considered and developed in the very long term in the future, one of them is to focus on developing the autogate system. With some literacy regarding immigration information technology at TPI in several countries, it can result in several comparisons between the immigration information technology system in Indonesia with the immigration information technology system in several foreign countries. This can be used as study or learning material in seeing some of the shortcomings or gaps that the immigration technology information system in Indonesia has. The results of the study carried out with this qualitative research method have explained that the immigration information technology system in TPI Indonesia still has several gaps or shortcomings when compared to the existing systems in several other countries. So, it is very necessary to make several further studies or research related to the development of an immigration information technology system at TPI Indonesia that can adapt several existing systems in several countries.

The purpose of this study was to compare the male and female medical students’ perceptions of the flipped classroom (FC) using the Zoom online platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. A mixedmodality study proceeded for first-year undergraduate medical students (n = 149). Three topics (learning how to learn, stress management and doctor-patient communication) were flipped using the Zoom platform. Following the flipping, relevant videos and PowerPoint slides were sent to the students. Home assignments were done through the online classroom. The students were then made to answer a questionnaire on their perceptions of FC consisting of 5-point Likert items. In addition, a focus group discussion (FGD) was carried out with voluntary participation (n = 13) for an in-depth discussion of flipped teaching. The quantitative data were analysed using the independent t-test, and Atlas.ti was used to analyse the qualitative data. For most of the Likert statements, there was no significant difference (p > 0.05) between the mean results obtained by the male and female students. For example, for the item “The learning material was available before class time”, both the male (mean [SD] = 1.857 [0.443]) and female (mean [SD] = 1.966 [0.365]) respondents confirmed the learning material’s availability before class time (p = 0.121). However, the mean result obtained by the male respondents for the variable “I understood the topics in lesser time compared to the traditional lecture method” was higher than the mean result obtained by the female participants by 0.236, which was statistically significant (95% CI [0.373, –0.100], p = 0.001). Modified FC teaching for the “learning skills” course is thus an effective teaching method. The male students took significantly lesser time understanding the three included topics compared to the female students.

This study is focused on analysis of the politeness expressed by the main characters and supporting characters in “Beauty and the Beast” Movie. The objective of this study are to know the politeness expressed by the main characters; Beauty (Belle) and the Beast (Prince) and to know the politeness expressed by the supporting characters in “Beauty and the Beast” movie. This Study is qualitative research that used content analysis method. Technique of data analysis in this study is using descriptive qualitative. The result of analysis are the sum of expression of politeness in saying thank you are 8 expressions, in saying hello are 7 expression, in answer the saying hello are 2 expressions, in use ‘I’m sorry’ are 5 expression and of how to sound more polite are 5 expressions. The sum of all expression of politeness that expressed by the characters in “Beauty  and the Beast” movie are 27 expressions. Based on the discussion of the result of analysis, It can be concluded that expression of politeness is important in communication and it usually use in conversation when people in saying hello or greeting, when people answer the saying hello or greeting from others, when people ask with the sound more polite, and the last when people saying use ‘I’m sorry’ to refused and ignore something and ask to forgiven by other people. This study can be applied to conduct the learning material in teaching about the  English expression in conversation, especially expression of politeness.

O trabalho a seguir nos remete ao desenvolvimento de levar para uma escola de língua italiana situada no coração da Itália o sistema de educação a distância aplicado no Brasil. O objetivo central deste trabalho é mostrar que a modalidade do ensino a distância brasileiro ajudaria a Scuola Dante Alighieri em seu desenvolvimento junto a seus aspirantes a estudantes. Norteado pela metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa, o conteúdo trabalhado aponta elementos de importância fundamental para a aplicabilidade desse método de ensino na escola em questão. A troca de conhecimento na modalidade educacional entre países é uma forma de intercâmbio intelectual que é salutar para os envolvidos; o conhecimento tem que ser expandido e a forma de aplicação mais conveniente para o momento é de fundamental importância para o aprendizado de quem fará uso, pois, no caso desta produção, traremos soluções plausíveis para o desenvolvimento da escola frente a seus aspirantes. Uma vez dado esse trabalho, esperemos que a Scuola Dante Alighieri usufrua dos elementos aqui apresentados e possa com isso aumentar o número de estudantes. Palavras-chave: Desenvolvimento educacional; Educação a distância; Internacionalização. The EaD Tupiniquim in Garibaldi Land AbstractThe following work refers us to the process of taking to an Italian language school located in the heart of Italy the distance education system that is applied in Brazil. The central objective of this work is to show that Brazilian distance education modality would help "Scuola Dante Alighieri" in its development with possible future students. Guided under a qualitative research methodology, content points extremely important elements to the applicability of this teaching method at this school. The exchange of knowledge among countries in the educational modality is a form of intellectual exchange which is beneficial for those involved, knowledge has to be expanded and the most convenient application form in the moment has fundamental importance for those who will use it, as in the case of this production it will bring plausible solutions for the development of the school to its aspirants. This research aimed to reveal the students’ activeness in mathematics learning on algebra using Zoom. This research is included in the qualitative research category with a descriptive approach. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive methods by showing the total score, percentage, or average score of each respondent's answer. The results showed that students were very active and motivated in achieving learning goals during learning via Zoom. This research implies that virtual learning is feasible to be encouraged.

Culture and history harbor the beauty of one’s society. In view, the study of artifacts could best explain our cultural and historical background. The study aimed to examine the personal furniture in the museums of Silay City to preserve the culture and tradition of the old society in Silay through material culture analysis. The study is a qualitative research conducted within the context of descriptive and historical research. Interview method was used in gathering information. McClung Fleming’s two conceptual tools of artifact analysis were utilized to help distinguish precise information about its five properties. Personal furniture in Manuel Severino Hofileña Ancestral House and Bernardino-Ysabel Jalandoni Museum were examined and analyze. The result showed that the personal furniture in two museums have significant influence in the culture and tradition of every Filipino-Spanish family in Silay. The study concludes that material culture analysis on the personal furniture could help preserve the culture and tradition of the past. The study further recommends that teachers and students can utilize the result of the study as material for understanding literature, culture, and history.
