Abstract: Before their encounter with the immigrants, the Balim religious lifecentered in their honai adat (traditional house). However, since the presence ofdivine religions, the center of their ritual and spiritual life is devolving to churchesor mosques, and marginalizes the role of the honai adat. The presence of divinereligions has contributed to peoples way of life, especially in broadening theperspective of the Balim about human beings. The extent of human relationsperspective has played a major role in relativizing the influence of traditionalvalues to their ways of thinking and behaving. With few exceptions, the generalcolor manifested in the relationship between the two belief systems is thedominance of the divine religions to local one. Conversion to the divine religionsand process of community building in one religion is not merely a faith event,but also part of the cultural process, part of a strategy to open an access toa better life in economy, socio-politics, or even in spiritual aspects. In this case,the divine religions are challenged to present their faces as the ways of salvationwhich is humane and civilized.

Christ’s healing of humanity consists, crucially, in forming human beings for loving relationship with himself and others. In this respect, Christ also takes the role of the beautiful beloved. Believers become pilgrims by falling in love with the beautiful Christ by the initiative of the Holy Spirit, who cleanses their eyes to see him as beautiful and enkindles desire in their hearts. By desiring and loving the beautiful Christ, the believer is conformed to him and learns to walk his path. Desiring the beautiful Christ forms a believing community shaped aesthetically and morally for a particular way of life: pilgrimage to the heavenly homeland. Formation is both earthly and eschatological, for so too is the journey and the activity of the pilgrim.

The correlation between ideology and partisanship in the mass public has increased in recent decades amid a climate of persistent and growing elite polarization. Given that core values shape subsequent political predispositions, as well as the demonstrated asymmetry of elite polarization, this article hypothesizes that egalitarianism and moral traditionalism moderate the relationship between ideology and partisanship in that the latter relationship will have increased over time only among individuals who maintain conservative value orientations. An analysis of pooled American National Election Studies surveys from 1988 to 2012 supports this hypothesis. The results enhance scholarly understanding of the role of core values in shaping mass belief systems and testify to the asymmetric nature and mass public reception of elite cues among liberals and conservatives.

In spite of a commendable proliferation of Muslim-Christian initiatives in recent years, progress has been slow. Islam and Christianity are essentially two rival belief systems each claiming doctrinal and theological superiority. Any serious dialogue that goes deeper into these issues and attempts to discover new hermeneutical bridges inevitably reaches its explanatory limit. In this article, I argue that there may perhaps be new ways to overcome this historic standstill. Borrowing from insights gained from a sociological approach to the study of religion, it becomes evident that it is necessary to distinguish between religion as a set of normative beliefs and the concrete implementation of those beliefs through religious practices. The application of theory into authentic forms of embodied religiosity is the responsibility of believers themselves. They concretize the normative prescriptions through a contextualized, local interpretation that is both pragmatic and meaningful in order to make sense of their everyday lives. To understand religion intellectually, it is necessary to consider its fundamental anthropological dimension. Hence, the study of religion must ultimately include the study of human beings in their natural context and from their point of view. Moreover, I provide evidence that true insight is contingent upon actual participation in the religious practices themselves. Building on this argument, this article suggests that Muslim-Christian relations would significantly benefit from including shared participation in sacred religious performances as part of the strategy for a successful encounter.

During Afghanistan’s rapid urban growth, development diversified from state-run initiatives to ones led by local municipalities or nongovernmental entities such as private enterprises. Owing to these various efforts, cities face environmental challenges, squatter settlements, and unbalanced development. Responding to these interconnected challenges, cities need to increase their resilience to deal with the combined effects of urbanization, changing geopolitical contexts, and culture. In this study, we focused on dimensions of culturally responsive solutions for the built environment in Kabul, Afghanistan. Culture, as a key element in the concept of sustainable development, refers herein to the relationship between Afghan customs and belief systems as it influences and shapes the architecture of the urban environment. Initially, the study provides a conceptual understanding of sustainable urban development and the importance of culture. We have attempted to approach urban segregation in Kabul based on socioeconomic factors and address the essential role of culture in this unique context. Such segregation can be hazardous to both the current and future sustainability of urban development. To conclude, we provide in-depth insights into the contribution of culture and propose culture as a possible dimension of sustainability and an integral part of environmental, economic, and social dimensions of development.

Ethnonyms are the sources that can demonstrate the history, way of life, national language, belief, cultural and spiritual life, worldview of each nation. To explore ethnonyms both gives information about the history of the nation and contains crucial linguistic information. The role of ethnonyms is important in order to comprehend the features of contemporary national language and express its linguistic possibilities. In Bukhara region there are a lot of toponyms that are appeared on the basis of ethnonyms. These ethnotoponyms show the life of people living in the area, cases of mixture with indigenous people and the region has had a long process of development. First of all, ethnotoponyms showcase the spread of Turkic tribes, geography of their areal stretch or the extension over the area. Furthermore, they express how other peoples and tribes appeared in the area of the region and their mixture with indigenous people. The following article draws some views about ethnotoponyms which are formed on the basis of nation names in Bukhara region and are used presently as names of a place among local people. Ethnotoponyms can be apparent as means that provide the existence of ethnic unity of the separate region.

The investigation and supporting variables related to the mental health of teaching candidates is important since teachers’ psychological traits will affect students’ personal, social, and academic development. In this paper, the intermediary role of hope in the relationship between the social entrepreneurship characteristics and psychological well-being of teaching candidates was investigated. The sample consisted of 855 teaching candidates were chosen randomly. The data were collected by using the Psychological Well-being Scale, the Social Entrepreneurship Characteristics of the Pre-service Teachers’ Scale, the Dispositional Hope Scale and a Demographic Information Form. In the analysis descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and regression-based bootstrapping method were used. The results showed that teaching candidates’ social entrepreneurship characteristics were positively and significantly correlated with psychological well-being and two components of hope (alternative ways of thinking and actuating thinking). Besides, it was found that alternative ways of thinking and actuating thinking had partial mediating roles in the relationship between teaching candidates’ social entrepreneurship characteristics and psychological well-being. The obtained findings were discussed in the light of related literature and suggestions were offered.

his time, pornography and erotic actions start to correlate into culture domain, where human beings become the subject as well as the object. Concept of culture claims the relationship between human interaction on society and culture as a result of them. Pornography and erotic actions are considered to be the representation of the products of human being activities in the forms of technology, pictures, idols, painting etc. All of them are then absorbed into culture. The opponents of freedom culture suggest that Indonesian people should be responsible to the development of Indonesian culture which is based on religions and eastern norms. The most dominant norms is Islamic teaching  which is the religion of the majority of the citizen. Thus,  Indonesia culture should be able to represent Islamic way of life which is based on    al Quran and Sunnah. Pornography, which is against Islamic teaching should not be part of Indonesian culture.

The position of women in society is often regarded as second-class, making the backward condition and used as scapegoats for the backwardness of a society and nation. And even worse, the treatment of women by putting it as second-class communities are often mentioned as religious injunctions of Islam. On the other hand, there are those who want to empower women by giving women the freedom to freely, by demanding their equality with men in all aspects, without considering the differences that have been given by God to men and women. So what happens is the increasing number of family breakdown leading to divorce and loss of sosial community building. Hence<br />the need for reconstruction of a fair idea about the position of women, both on the relationship of women with men, as well as the position and role of women in family and society. Based on observations of the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah, it was shown that a Muslim woman at the time (shahabiyah) has had a very complex role in the community. Nevertheless, they do not leave their primary role in the family and still uphold the ethics<br />of religion in the publik domain.

The report states that the presence of digital technologies in the modern world is a normal, everyday phenomenon. Modern humanity cannot imagine its life without digital technologies. Confirmation of the words is the rapid deployment of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), which radically changes not only the technical, technological capabilities of production, but also the very way of life. The latest technologies are changing entire sectфors of the economy, changing forms of employment, business models, the relationship between capital and labor, the structure of forms of capital. In this regard, the main purpose of this report is to determine the role of digital technologies, which they have an impact on the interaction of technology transfer actors: business and government.

This article argues that literature of Buddha's philosophy has cosmopolitan nature. Buddhists do not believe in a personal creator God. In this sense, Buddhism is more than a religion; it is not centered only on the relationship between humans and a high God. Buddhism is a philosophical tradition that believes and centers on personal spiritual development. It is a humanistic way of life which can be understood as motivated to lead a moral life; it is also conscious of one's thoughts and actions as well as in developing wisdom and compassion. Both Buddhism and cosmopolitanism assert the dignity of every human being; these ideals aim at improving the condition of life. Philanthropy, empathy, and compassion can be considered as synonyms for Buddhism and cosmopolitanism. Service to fellow human beings is at the center for a cosmopolitan. When humans ascend the material concerns like pleasure and material desire, they are free to fulfill responsibilities to fellow human beings so that they can go up and beyond the close family members to all human beings, which is the philosophy of both Buddhism and cosmopolitanism. In both the Buddhist and cosmopolitan philosophy there is basic consideration of humanity. Buddhist social thought offers something to cosmopolitan ethics that cosmopolitanism’s desire to enhance ‘human interconnectedness’ is truly helpful to minimize the human sufferings. In this article, my goal is to explore and show Buddhism as a cosmopolitan philosophy.
