The paper objective is identification the attitudes of academic youth towards farm animal welfare and products derived from animals kept under friendly conditions. The main source of the data used for the analyses and applications was the primary information obtained from personal research (PAPI method, 436 respondents). The statistical analysis of the studied material encompassed aggregate statistical indicators, the non-parametric test „chi square” (χ2), as well as non-hierarchical method – k-means cluster analysis. As results from the conducted investigations, the issue of farm animal welfare is important for the young consumers (64%) or very important (36%). Protecting animal welfare is a significant problem for a majority of women and city dwellers. Over 75% students purchases products from animal welfare – friendly production process. Regarding young consumer attitudes towards farm animal welfare, three types of attitudes were identified.

The majority of studies on local ecological knowledge (LEK) relate to communities or groups relying on ecosystem(s) for their livelihood. In our case study, Mayotte Island, a French overseas department, very few people rely on mangrove ecosystem for natural resources but most of them are attached to it because of leisure activities and beliefs. The questions on mangrove LEK generally deal with a single aspect of ecological knowledge of surveyed people and is mixed with other information such as harvesting practices, anthropogenic impacts, and management issues. The aim of our study is to better understand the level of ecological knowledge of surveyed inhabitants of Mayotte and to assess whether factors linked to the profile of respondents have an influence on it. For this purpose, we carried out two main survey campaigns in three villages fringing two stable mangroves of Mayotte: the first one consisted of qualitative interviews and the second one, questionnaires lending quantitative results. Cross tabulations and Chi square tests of independence were carried out to determine the link between LEK and influencing factors. Results show that some LEK implying localized observation, such as the identification of mangrove trees and the knowledge of the coastal protection role of the mangrove, are well shared by surveyed people whereas others, such as the number and the name of mangrove tree species, are poorly known. The results also highlight the difficulty of questions implying observation at the landscape level and interpretation of observation. All the influencing factors selected have a significant influence on, at least, one LEK variable. The results highlight differences in LEK of villages bordering two nearby mangroves calling for a local management of these systems.

This study aims to compare motivation-based and motivation-attitude-based segmentation of tourist markets, by identifying the heterogeneity of both solutions. A k-means cluster analysis was conducted to segment markets, using the data collected from 722 respondents, via an onsite survey of visitors to the Kuang Si Waterfall and Konglor Cave in Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Subsequently, socio-demographic and trip-related characteristics among the segments were compared using ANOVA and Chi-square tests. Both motivation-based and motivation-attitude-based segmentation each generated four distinctive segments. Although both solutions are viable for segmentation, the latter was found to be more useful in separating segments than the former, as its segments were significantly more distinguishable from each other in terms of socio-demographic and trip-related characteristics. This result contributes to the body of research on the comparison of market segmentation techniques, which is a rarely investigated topic.

FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE HIV ASSOCIATED PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY IN MANADOABSTRACTIntroduction: There are  several sociodemographic and clinical factors that influence the development of HIV associated peripheral  neuropathy (HIV-PN). Manado has different sociodemographic and clinical characteristics  from other regions. However, the percentage of HIV-PN and its influencing factors are unknown.Aims: To know the percentage of HIV-PN and factors that influence this disorder in Manado. Methods: A crosssectional study conducted in HIV/AIDS clinic R.D. Kandou hospital Manado between November2016–January 2017. Neuropathy evaluation was performed using brief peripheral neuropathy screening (BPNS), neuropathic pain diagnostic questionnaire (DN4), and electroneurography. A Chi-square or Fisher exact test was done to analyze categorical variables, independent T or Mann-Whitney test was done for numerical variables, and linear regression was done in multivariate analysis. Results: 50 subjects were included, most were male (70%), and the mean age was 32.98 (±9.726) years, with HIV- NP percentage was 46%. Age >30 years old, low hemoglobin count, CD4, and low international  HIV dementia scale (IHDS) significantly associated with HIV-NP. Working subjects were 13.6 times more likely to have HIV-PN.Discussion: HIV-PN prevalence was relatively high, influenced by age >30 years old an low hemoglobin, CD4, andIHDS. As a factor, working was escalating the likelihood of NP-HIV by 13.9 times. Keywords: HIV/AIDS, influencing factors, peripheral neuropathyABSTRAKPendahuluan: Neuropati perifer terkait human immunodeficiency virus/HIV (NP-HIV) dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor klinis dan sosiodemografis. R.D. Kandou, Manado, pada November 2016–Januari 2017.  Evaluasi neuropati dilakukan menggunakan brief peripheral  neuropathy screening (BPNS), neuropathic pain diagnostic questionnaire (DN4), dan elektroneurografi. Cryptocurrency has emerged in recent years as a new form of money. With the wave of cryptocurrency developments and wild attention, it is essential to understand consumer attitudes toward the adoption of the cryptocurrency and the factors influencing their decisions. Thus, the chapter aims to fill a gap in the current literature by examining the factors that influence the user's intention to adopt cryptocurrency. This adoption is a purchasing decision where users make a decision based on a set of factors that matters to them. This chapter uses a hierarchical decision model (HDM) to understand the user decision to adopt cryptocurrency. The model proposes four main perspectives that influence the adoption decision: economic, technical, social, and personal. This study aims at providing an in-depth analysis of the factors influencing the adoption of cryptocurrency as well as the ranking of these influencing factors based on the quantification of the users' judgments.

Strengthening research on urban tourism competitiveness is vital in evaluating the current situation and potential of urban tourism, maintaining the sustainable development of the tourism economy and assisting in the regional macro decision making. In this study, an index system evaluation of urban tourism competitiveness in city agglomerations across the Guanzhong Plain is established by collecting cross-section data from the years 2017 and 2010. The entropy value method is adopted to determine the index weight. Cluster analysis is performed and the spatial-temporal pattern and evolution laws of urban tourism competitiveness among city agglomerations in the Guanzhong Plain are analyzed and the geographic detector utilized to discuss the influencing factors. Results show that the spatial gradient difference of urban tourism competitiveness of agglomerations in the Guanzhong Plain is significant. In 2010, it presented the characteristic of ‘the high and middle levels having a zonal distribution from east to west, and the low level was distributed along the north and south wings’. In 2017, the characteristic of ‘polarization’ became highly prominent, that is, the scope of high-level and low-level cities expanded and the scope of medium-level cities decreased. Urban tourism competitiveness in city agglomerations across the Guanzhong Plain exhibited a trend of ‘strengthening in the east, weakening in the west’. The competitiveness of resources and management shifted aggressively and supporting factors competitiveness underwent a slight change. The urban tourism competitiveness of city agglomerations in the Guanzhong Plain is generally low, while the urban tourism competitiveness of Xi’an had an absolute advantage in city agglomerations of the Guanzhong Plain. According to the cluster analysis results, resources and management competitiveness, supporting factors competitiveness, demand conditions competitiveness, situational conditions competitiveness and urban tourism competitiveness of Xi’an in 2010 and 2017 were all at an extremely high level, which was relatively higher than the index values of other cities in the city agglomerations of the Guanzhong Plain. Tourism resources, service support capacity, infrastructure support capacity, tourism income scale, tourism reception scale and economic development power are the core influencing factors of urban tourism competitiveness among city agglomerations in the Guanzhong Plain. The single factor explanatory power of destination management indicates a downward trend while the single factor explanatory power of the ecological environment condition shows an upward trend. Tourism resources are the leading interactive factor of urban tourism competitiveness, and destination management and ecological environment condition are the most significant indicators for the collaborative effect.

Abstract Besides the Holly Quran, Nahj al-Balagha is the main source of literature in Arabian nations, especially for Shia as one of the main branches of the Muslims. Along with literary brilliance, the text of this book covers the broad topics. This research deals with the application of the statistical text and data analysis to extract knowledge from the aphorisms in Nahj al-Balaghah. First, we classify these aphorisms in seven topics. Then, the count of the aphorisms in each category is computed. Finally, the counts of the aphorisms of the categories are compared using the chi-square test and the cluster analysis.
