This study aims to explore teaching methods and strategies in teaching translation among lecturers at IAIN Ponorogo. In their teaching, the lecturers determine the high goals, that is being able to translate Arabic into Indonesian, and the reverse; However, students' language competence is not good enough to achieve that goal because translation is a work that must be supported by various types of competencies such as understanding text, understanding Arabic grammar, understanding methods and translation strategies, and so on. Student competencies are not in accordance with the specific goals in this education, and this fact is what leads lecturers to carry out effective teaching and use good types of teaching methods and strategies so that education is successful and students can achieve the goals. Researchers used a qualitative approach and explored descriptive facts such as written voices or individual speeches, contemplative traits and data sources. The data analysis method is descriptive analysis with three methods, namely data reduction and data presentation. The results of this study are 1) The method used in teaching translation: translation is word by word, because translation is done between separation by placing the translation under the source language in order to maintain word order. The word is translated as a word in a general sense. Pro translation because it produces contextual meaning of the source language into the target language appropriately. Therefore, translators are careful in translating cultural vocabulary and adjusting grammar. This method seeks to achieve the author's goals. 2) The strategy used is an expansion against the target, and the word element is an expansion in the target language, semantic translation, ordinal translation, transcription or semantic translation intersection. 3) And the learning outcomes obtained by students are good, academic results are not good. If someone wants to get a good quality translation, a translator cannot add or reduce the meaning contained in the source language because it is affected by the original form of the target language. Translation is a bridge between the writer of source language text and the target language reader to make the text come naturally appropriate in the target language. This is certainly different when the results of a translation are still too related to the language and culture of the source. The translation will be wrong and rigid. A translator must master the translation strategy, namely: collocation, domestication and technicality. As well as aspects that must be understood, namely: accuracy, readability and acceptability. This can also be a reference for students in finding solutions to problems in translating difficulties, especially for the Arabic Language and Literature students.

Translation is not simple transpositions operations or transcoding processes from one language to another, it involves complex mental processes where linguistics alone cannot be sufficient. It is a communication situation between two languages, Arabic and French in this case, where the objective of the translator is the transmission of his final product in a clear way, respecting the meaning and the author intention of the original version. Translation of phrases is a real dilemma for translators; however, it turns out that it is a necessity in order to discover the other, and to try to keep the same effect as the source text by giving it a stylistic touch typical to the target language. To this end, we have carefully chosen the corpus that we have translated. A corpus that reflects the originality of the Arabic language and the possibility of reducing the linguistic, cultural and discursive gaps between Arabic and French through translation. The translation processes we have chosen, take into account the target language, French in this case, its idioms, phrases and proverbs inventory, its particularity and, finally, its ability to comprehend the idea contained in the idioms of the source language.

This study tries to find out what is meant by the expression "objective correlative" and to follow its different translations into Arabic according to its chronology. It also tries to show similarities and differences in those translations by giving reasons for each of them، and the obstacles that face readers to understand the meaning and semantics of the expression. Then، the study proceeds to discover the nature، the conception، and the main components of this expression، and its main aim to find out objective and sensitive correlative for the hidden feelings of the poet’s world through art and sensory images and forms that are reviewable and which are able to stimulate an emotional state for the receiver which is similar to that of the poet himself. The study depends on the data taken from the integrated approach and borrows many of its means and procedures to describe and analyze the data in this study in response to the nature of the subject whose components stretch to contain matters. Some relate to the source language (English) and obstacles in translation، others relate to the target language (Arabic) and the issues of tandem، verb al joint،echoic and its effect on translating the expression. Some relate to the practical aspects of some texts which were included in the study and the integrated and comprehensive view needed for poetry. This study comes to some conclusions، such as: The expression "objective correlative" focuses on the external sensitive correlative of the inner feeling of the poet. The different practical experiences are polarizing on constructive and stylistic forms that are able to express forms، and give images at the same time. The uses of language for certain propose are able to represent the inner abstract feeling of the poet through sensitive images that reveal the poet’s feelings and thoughts and to draw a similar image in the reader's awareness.
