The present research investigated the contribution of Geoscience Education in environment studies developed at Escola de Aplicação EA/FEUSP, São Paulo. The research focused on teacher training to overcome the traditional education model based on a fragmentation of knowledge, thus contributing to curriculum integration. Environment studies, field notebooks and the relationship of educational methodology and geosciences knowledge in the school’s curriculum were analyzed. The approaches carried out in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades of elementary school contributed to reorganizing the Science curriculum, including a geoscientific approach. The results showed the importance of geoscience education and the possibility of changes in the curriculum in promoting a more contextualized and integrated education, starting from the basic levels, to meet the school’s pedagogical policy plan.

This research is based on the results of early observation in elementary school in Hulu Sungai sub-district of Ketapang regency. Based on data obtained by the condition of elementary school teachers in Hulu Sungai sub-district indicated there is a decrease in teachers’ spirit at work. The Purpose of this research was to find: the effect of compensation and work motivation of elementary school teachers’ spirit at work in Hulu Sungai sub-district of Ketapang regency. This research uses a quantitative approach, where the pattern of relationship between variables to be studied using dual paradigm with two independent variables, that is to find the relationship of compensation (X1) with the spirit at work (Y), work motivation (X2) with spirit at work (Y), compensation (X1) and work motivation (X2) jointly on the spirit at work (Y). This research uses quantitative approach, where the pattern of relationship between variables and calculation using simple linear analytical technique and technique of doubled linear analysis. Result of the research based on 71 respondents showed that (1) There is significant effect of compensation to teachers’ spirit at work, 2) There is significant effect between work motivation to teacher’s spirit at work, (3) There is significant effect of compensation and work motivation against elementary school teachers’ spirit at work in Hulu Sungai sub-district of Ketapang regency.

This chapter discusses the conceptual basis of the studied structure and content of the semantic interaction of a teacher and students on the basis of the relationship between the pedagogy of formation and the pedagogy of self-development. The purpose of the chapter is to detect the opportunities of further implementation of the verbal-illustrative education model based on the re-establishment of the participants' interaction design technology of pedagogical process as the semantic technology of the educational process, and the basis of educational development in the polyfunctional environment. The justification of the relationship of the pedagogical process and the semantic control, the designation of the essence and the basic conditions for the effectiveness of meaning reveal the relevance of the question concerning the factors which contribute to the enhancing students' research competence in modern educational contexts.

Complimenting the geoscience examples reviewed in the Online Science Strategies section of this book, our focus in Chapter 11 is to present a more discipline-centered review of representative published examples from the geosciences. Our review takes account of courses, virtual fieldtrips, virtual laboratories, collaboration, virtual science museums and the relationship of the emerging cyberinfrastructure to the geosciences. Our goal is to provide the reader with a diversity of models and resources to consider in the development of new online or blended geoscience courses or to support the systematic improvement of existing ones. Additionally, our impetus here is to highlight the particular design requirements to achieve learning outcomes in an online science course, such as the design of practical work. Our discussion begins with a review of recent trends in undergraduate geoscience education.

Alcohol consumption is considered a global problem, principally affecting adolescents. In this context, the aims of this study were to identify the pedagogical strategies developed by elementary school teachers in the approach to alcohol with adolescents; To analyze the attitudes, beliefs, values and practices of the elementary school teachers in relation to alcohol; To discuss the repercussions of the attitudes, beliefs, values and practices of the teachers about alcohol in the dialogue with the students and in the implementation of the strategies referred to above. This was a qualitative study performed with 26 teachers of a Rio de Janeiro public school. The data were analyzed through thematic content analysis and grouped into 5 categories. It was concluded that social imaginary and attitudinal construction of the teachers directly interferes with the personal and professional practice and has repercussions in the quotidian life of the students. It was noted that the focus should not just be on the students, but on the relationship of the teachers with their pedagogic strategies.

Abstract Curriculum integration, focusing on multidisciplinary tasks/projects relevant to the real-world, lends itself to authentic assessment practices. However, attempting to incorporate assessment of, for, and as learning can be challenging. Using data from two mixed method case studies (n=52, n=27) which tracked middle school student learning throughout separate integrated units, we analyzed the types of assessments used by teachers and the relationship of assessment to student learning. Results and implications for teacher practice are explored.

School children are the nation's next generation. Therefore, it is necessary to improve human resources from an early age. Providing good nutrition, will affect the growth and development of a child. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between eating and breakfast patterns and learning achievement of elementary school children. The type of research used is quantitative research with a literature study design. The literature used is literature published from 2013 to 2020. The results of data analysis show that there is a relationship between eating and breakfast patterns and learning achievement of elementary school children. The results of data analysis showed that there were 3 research locations, namely in Java 60% (6 articles), Sulawesi 30% (3 articles), Kalimantan 10% (1 article). Using correlation research 50%, analytic survey research 20%, and 30% other research. Data analysis was made in univariate and bivariate ways. The variables used in each study were diet, breakfast, and learning achievement. From this research, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between eating and breakfast patterns and learning achievement of elementary school children. So further research is expected to develop other factors that can affect student achievement.
