The purpose of this article was to differentiate between suffering and chronic sorrow. A literature review provided the information necessary to define these two concepts. Definition of the concepts provides a better understanding of the world of suffering persons and those who suffer from chronic sorrow. By understanding this world, healthcare providers are better able to intervene with caring interventions. Nurses spend more time at the bedside, in the clinic, or in the home than any other healthcare providers; thus, we believe that we can offer the caring that heals and is the heart of nursing practice. The goal of this article is to develop a framework for understanding chronic sorrow and suffering. A paradigm for nursing interventions will be introduced

As global migration increases worldwide, nursing interventions are needed to address the effects of migration on health. The concept of liminality emerged as a pivotal concept in the situation-specific theory of well-being in refugee women experiencing cultural transition. As a relatively new concept in the discipline of nursing, liminality is explored using a method, calledID-EA, which we developed to advance a theoretical concept for application to nursing practice. Liminality in the context of cultural transition is further developed using the five steps of inquiry of the ID-EA method. The five steps are as follows: (1) inductive inquiry: qualitative research, (2) deductive inquiry: literature review, (3) synthesis of inductive and deductive inquiry, (4) evaluation inquiry, and (5) application-to-practice inquiry. The overall goal of this particular work was to develop situation-specific, theory-based interventions that facilitate cultural transitions for immigrants and refugees.

The incidence of short toddlers commonly referred to as stunting is one of the nutritional problems worldwide. In 2017 22.2% or about 150.8 million toddlers in the world experienced stunting. The Integrated Toddler Nutrition Status Survey (SSGBI) by Balitbangkes Kemenkes Republik Indonesia in 2019 shows that the highest proportion of stunting is found in East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. The districts in West Sulawesi with the highest percentage of very short and short toddlers at the age of 0 – 59 months in 2018 were Mamuju Regency which is 20.08% and 26.38%. This study aims to determine the influence of protein and energy intake and exclusive breastfeeding history of breastfeeding on stunting events. This research is a literature review that summarizes some relevant literature. Articles searched using google scholar database. After the screening, 21 articles were eligible and met the criteria. There is an influence of protein and energy intake and exclusive breastfeeding on stunting. It is expected that the results of this study will become one of the educational materials and nursing interventions that can be applied in the health service in preventing stunting.

Recent studies have indicated that high levels of stress, emotional fatigue, and depression significantly affect the work competency of healthcare professionals; and that more than a third of healthcare professionals across the world report one or more symptoms of burnout. Yet being in a field that requires urgency and long hours, it becomes imperative to develop strategies to alleviate such issues while improving the healthcare services offered to patients. The purpose of this literature review and analysis is to highlight how healthcare professional burnout occurs, explore measures to remediate these issues, and how meditation, as a stress reliever, is an effective method to reduce stress and anxiety levels among healthcare providers. Keywords: Burnout, Stress, Depression, Meditation, Cortisol

BackgroundProvision of empathetic palliative care in agreement with patient’s favorites is an indispensable attitude of healthcare providers. A Peaceful End of Life Theory was designed by Rulandand Moore (1998),to provide theoretical framework for nurses who care for patients at end stage of their life.MethodsChinn and Kramer theory analysis guideline was used to analyse this theory to suggest its improvement.ResultsFive major concepts and sub-concepts are identified. This theory informs the nursing profession on the relieving interventions at the end of life. It provides a guidance to supportively manage terminally ill patients in collaboration with their families.ConclusionThis theory is important to guide nursing practice, research, and education. However, there is a lack of an instrument to measure the desired outcomes, some subconcepts do not cleary specify the nursing interventions, and it lacks the spiritual comfort to the terminally ill patients who believe in eternal life.Rwanda J Med Health Sci 2021;4(3):412-417

This theoretical study results from the observation and problematization of inexperienced nurses' insertion in technological environments, which requires specialized knowledge and practices. We pose the question if the use of this knowledge leads to a fragmented practice. The objective is to discuss the specialized knowledge necessary for nursing work in this setting, at the light of the principles that guide the new scientific paradigm. A bibliographical survey and literature review were carried out. The discussion is based on the assertion that, although specialized knowledge originates in a reductionist, objective, rational and mechanistic paradigm, its application in specialized nursing practice is not necessarily based on these principles, but on the scientific paradigm that guides them as individuals in the world. This suggests a change in the perspective on this issue.
