Background: BPOM stated that in 2017, small and micro food enterprises were responsible for 49,5 % food borne disease in Indonesia. Indonesian government had provided guidance about good handling standard for food product (GMP) by UU No.18 Tahun 2012. ALOJA as Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) had lot of limitation to meet the standard. HACCP analysis was needed to give recommendation in arranging SOP that meet the standard. Objectives: The objective of this research was to do and set HACCP analysis as a way to collect data to give recommendation in setting the SOP that meet food safety standard regulation. Methods: Research done by applying 7 of 14 steps in HACCP implementation. Judgment taken based on the level of severity (3 level) and level of occurrence probability (3 level). From the matrix derived from it, SOP recommendation was taken if the level of control was medium and above. Results: Recommendation given for Pest Control procedure, washing and dipping, cooling, packaging and sealing process. Conclusions: The result shown that pest control procedure, washing and dipping, cooling, packaging and sealing process was on medium risk or above. SOP recommendation done by adding nylon net sized 80 mesh and check it regularly, control the concentration of lime betel, limit and regulate the cooling room strictly, and to apply aseptic condition. If this not possible, the best option was to apply washing hand and feet procedure with soap/hand sanitizer, masker, cover the hair of worker during packaging and sealing.ABSTRAK  Latar Belakang: Pada tahun 2017 BPOM menyebutkan bahwa Industri Kecil Makanan berkontribusi terhadap 49,5% kasus keracunan pangan di Indonesia.

The increased emphasis to reduce salmonellae contamination of foods since 1967 has had tremendous impact upon the food industry. While there has been improvement made in the incidence of food product contamination, it is debatable whether this has led to a reduction in the incidence of human food borne salmonellosis. Industrial microbiologists recognize and support the need for controlling salmonellae in foods. Certain changes in educational materials are needed to provide the positive attitude that salmonellae can be controlled.

In the last few years, green composites are becoming more suitable for applications over synthetic composite. There has been a growing interest in recent years in the utilisation of natural fibres in making low-cost building material. However, these natural fibre-based composites are not fully environmentally friendly because the matrix resins are non-biodegradable. In this paper, an attempt is made to fabricate green composites with coir, banana, and aloe vera fibres as reinforcement and hybrid polymer as matrix. The hybrid polymer is prepared from natural and synthetic resins. This work intends to find the vibrational characteristics of these composites. The influence of three parameters, i.e. CNSL in hybrid polymer, fibre volume, and fibre discontinuities on vibrational characteristics are considered. This work is carried out using FEA and the FEA results are validated by experimental results.

AbstractA 34-question interview relating to the occurrence, distribution, and economic importance of the merchant grain beetle was administered to a random sample of 2341 dwellings in Winnipeg in 1971 and 1152 dwellings in 1980. The results showed that a higher percentage of apartments and other multiple dwellings were infested by this insect than were houses. Using the Winnipeg survey figure, we estimate that the total cost of infestation in Canadian residences was $2.9 million in 1971 and $6 million in 1980. These figures do not include the costs of commercial pest control services. Oatmeal and flour were infested most frequently in 1971 with mixed cereal most frequent in 1980. After food, the next most frequent sources of beetles in kitchens were cupboard shelves and breadboards. Most people who found beetles in a food product discarded the infested product and adjacent foods whether or not they were infested. The results of the surveys suggest that the merchant grain beetle is a widespread and economically important household pest in Canada, particularly in apartments where is it a chronic problem.

UKM Jovelyn is a small medium enterprise (SME) that engaged in the field of bakery production. Until now, they produce cakes and cookies. They sell products throughout the Batam area which includes (Tiban market, aviari market, mitra market and puja bahari market), shops, school canteens and so on. The SME targets several things such as profit per month, number of hours worked, number of overtime hours, machine utilities, labor utilities and so forth. Until now, the SME has not been able to reach  the targets because the UKM has not determined the production amount based on the appropriate calculation. The number of products made is determined only on an intuitive basis. Determination of the amount of production cannot be determined by the usual simplex method because the objective function in the usual simplex method contains a target. Problem solving is done by using goal programming. The results of the calculation analysis show that to achieve the optimal value, the SME must produce coconut root cookies, butter cookies, nastar cookies, snow princess cookies and peanut cookies respectively 11.89 kg, 22.43 kg, 24.96 kg , 1.97kg and 0 kg. Sensitivity analysis is carried out after there are changes in conditions that result in changes in the linear program matrix, so the number of products that must be made also changes which include coconut root cookies as much as 12.8 kg, as much as 16.91 kg of butter cookies, nastar cookies as much as 25.7 and the last is 3.39 kg of nut cookies which in the initial calculation, nut cookies were not produced. The sensitivity analysis is not done by recalculation but rather by modifying the matrix and completing iteration with primal dual.

AbstractClean and Healthy Living Behaviors as known as PHBS are all health behaviors that are carried out with awareness, so that family members or families can help themselves in the health sector and play an active role in health activities in the community. One of the activities that can be carried out to achieve PHBS is washing hands using soap (hand rub / hand wash) or cleaning fluid (hand sanitizer). About 98% of the spread of microorganisms in the body comes from our own hands. Maintaining hand hygiene is an effort to avoid various diseases. The benefits of washing hands are very large, washing hands using soap / hand rub or using a hand sanitizer only takes 20 seconds but is very useful for killing microorganisms, namely bacteria, fungi, and viruses. One way to combat the new corona virus or COVID-19, which has become a pandemic at this time, is to always maintain hand hygiene. With the pandemic, the price of hand sanitizers has skyrocketed because the need has increased sharply. When used too often, alcohol as the main ingredient of hand sanitizers, besides being able to irritate the skin, it can also lift natural oils on the hands and tend to be drier, so herbal ingredients are needed as natural ingredients to reduce the side effects of these hand sanitizers. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with communities in the Bondowoso district, namely the KAPAS Community in Sumbergading Village, Sumberwringin District and the TSS Community in Sukosari Lor Village, Sukosari District. In the Bondowoso area, there are many youth communities with various activities aimed at advancing people's lives and improving the socio-economy in the region. Various plants can be found in the area, including aloe vera and betel leaf.

Abstract This study aimed to develop cellulose-based polymer matrices as controlled release devices for plant-based insect repellents and attractants, with the aim of finding sustainable and environmentally friendly pest control methods for agricultural applications. Citronellol, terpineol and methyl salicylate were the selected active compounds for this study. Their compatibility with cellulose diacetate was predicted using Hansen Solubility Parameters, which predicted terpineol as the most compatible with cellulose diacetate, followed by methyl salicylate and citronellol. This was consistent with the plasticization efficiency trend from DMA results of solvent cast cellulose diacetate films containing the active compounds. The chemical identity of the films and cellulose diacetate-active compound intermolecular interactions were verified by FTIR. TGA demonstrated the thermal stability of cellulose diacetate/active compound/clay formulations at temperatures not exceeding 170 °C. Cellulose diacetate/organoclay nanocomposite matrices containing the active compounds at 35 wt-% were prepared by twin screw extrusion compounding, with the active compounds also functioning as plasticizers. The amount of active compound in the strands was determined by solvent extraction and TGA. Both methods showed that small amounts of active compound were lost during the compounding process. SEM demonstrated the effect of organoclay on the internal morphology of the matrix, whereas TEM showed clay dispersion and intercalation within the matrix. The matrix served as a reservoir for the active compounds while simultaneously controlling their release into the environment. Release profiles, obtained through oven ageing at 40 °C for 70 days, were fitted to existing Log-logistic and Weibull models, and novel Diffusion and Modified Weibull release models. Citronellol was released the fastest, followed by methyl salicylate and terpineol. The findings suggest that cellulose diacetate/organoclay strands are promising controlled-release matrices for pest control purposes.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the tensile behavior of epoxy and polyester matrix composites reinforced with continuous and aligned aloe vera fibers. Design/methodology/approach Composites with different volume fractions (30, 40 and 50 Vol. %) were fabricated by laying the fibers in a steel mould and pouring liquid resin, either DEGEBA/TETA epoxy or methyl-ethyl ketone hardened orthophthalic polyester, under pressure of 3 MPa. The specimens were cured for 24 h at room temperature and then tested in a universal Instron testing machine, model 5582, at 298 K (25°C). Findings The fracture surface was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) under an acceleration voltage of 15 kV. SEM fractography revealed a poor adhesion between both the epoxy and polyester matrices with the aloe vera fiber. The results showed that in both cases the introduction of aloe vera fibers had a minor effect on the matrix reinforcement. Originality/value Investigation and comparison of tensile behavior of epoxy and polyester matrix composites reinforced with continuous and aligned aloe vera fibers have not been attempted so far.
