This study aimed to analyze the effect of methanol robusta coffee bean extract (Coffea canephora) on liver histopathological description in mice induced with monosodium glutamate (MSG). This study was used 20 male mice for 5 treatment groups: K + (MSG 0.12 mg and Vitamin C 6 mg), K- (MSG 0.12 mg and CMC Na 0.1 ml), P1 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.1 mg), P2 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.2 mg), and P3 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.4 mg) per orally for 42 days. Liver histological scores were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis test. The results of Kruskal Wallis test scored p=0,391 which indicates that the data is not significant (p>0.05). In the control and treatment groups there were no significant. In conclusion, the giving methanol robusta coffee bean extract did not show a decrease in hepatosite damage that was different from the negative control treatment group.

Periodontitis is mostly caused by plaque and Pophyromonas gingivalis bacteria as the main cause. The outer membrane layer of the Porphyromonas gingivalis wall produces pathogenic virulence factors, such as lipopolysaccharides which will activate inflammatory cells and cause phagocytosis of antigens thereby triggering free radicals. Robusta coffee beans naturally contain caffeine, phenolic compounds, trigonellin, and chlorogenic acids as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of Robusta (Coffea canephora) coffee bean extract 0.5%; 0.75%; 1%; 1.25%; 1.5% and 3% on the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis in vitro and to find out the lowest concentration of Robusta (Coffea canephora) coffee bean extract which has inhibitory effect on the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis. In this study were divided into 8 treatment groups namely positive control, negative control, 0.5% robusta coffee bean extract, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25%, 1.5% and 3%. Petridish dishes containing TSA media that have been sterilized, added P. gingivalis suspension with density according to Mc standard. Farland Then a sterile white test blank with a diameter of 6 mm that is still sterile is placed on top of the bacterial growth media in accordance with the placement of the treatment group and dropped with all 8 treatment materials. After 24 hours incubated in a desiccator, the inhibition of robusta coffee bean extracts against the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteria was observed and data collection was done by measuring the inhibition zone using calipers. The results obtained robusta coffee bean extract at concentrations of 3%, 1.5%, 1.25% and 1%, have an antibacterial power which is suspected because Robusta coffee beans naturally contain ingredients such as caffeine, polyphenols and chlorogenic acids which have antibacterial activity while the robusta coffee bean extract with a concentration of 0.5% and 0.75% does not have antibacterial power against Pophyromonas gingivalis. Robusta coffee bean extract with a concentration of 1% is the smallest concentration of Robusta (Coffea canephora) coffee bean extract which can inhibit the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis.

Ground coffee is coffee beans that have been roasted, ground or ground so that they have a smooth shape. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of compounds in robusta coffee roasted seed extract (Coffea canephora) from plants produced by organic and inorganic fertilization, and to know the difference in compounds between the results of organic and inorganic fertilization. The characteristics of phytochemical screening were carried out qualitatively on alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids and saponins and the antioxidant activity was carried out by the DPPH (1,1-dipenyl-2-picrihidrazil) method. Phytochemical screening characteristic test results show that robusta coffee bean extract extract from the results of organic and inorganic fertilization both contain flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins, while the antioxidant test activity of robusta coffee beans extracts shows differences based on the results of statistical tests of linear regression analysis with the IC50 value the highest antioxidant content was inorganic coffee roasted bean extract only 14.0629 ppm compared to the organic roasted extract with a value of 30.6159 ppmKeywords: Robusta Coffee (Coffea canophora), Phytochemical Screening, DPPH MethodABSTRAKKopi bubuk adalah biji kopi yang telah disangrai digiling atau ditumbuk sehingga mempunyai bentuk halus. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa dalam ekstrak biji sangrai kopi robusta (Coffe canephora) dari tanaman hasil pemupukan organik dan anorganik, dan mengetahui perbedaan senyawa antara hasil pemupukan organik dan anorganik. Karakteristik skrining fitokimia dilakukan secara kualitatif yang dilakukan terhadap alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, terpenoid dan saponin dan aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrihidrazil). Hasil uji karakteristik skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak biji sangrai kopi robusta dari hasil pemupukan oganik dan anorganik keduanya sama mengandung senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, dan saponin,  sedangkan pada aktifitas uji antioksidan ekstrak biji sangrai kopi robusta menunjukan perbedaan berdasarkan hasil uji statistik analisis regresi linear dengan nilai IC50 kadar antioksidan paling tinggi adalah ekstrak biji sangrai kopi anorganik hanya 14,0629 ppm dibandingkan dengan ekstrak sangrai dari organik dengan nilai 30,6159 ppm.Kata kunci : Kopi Robusta (Coffea canophera), Skrining Fitokimia, Metode DPPH

Kersen leaf (Muntingia calabura L.) contains tannins, flavonoids and polyphenol compounds allegedly have analgesic effect. The objective was to determine the analgesic effect of ethanol extract of kersen leaves and to determine the most effective analgesic dose. This study was an experimental research. Leaves were extracted with ethanol 70% and the analgesic effect test was divided into 5 groups: negative control treatment (distilled water), positive control (mefenamic acid 2.6mg/kg), kersen leaf ethanol extract first dose (100mg/kg), second dose (200mg/kg) and tthird dose (400mg/kg). Giving treatments by oral, after 30 minutes, the mices were given a pain inductor with 0.5% acetic acid by intra peritonial administration. Analgesic power was calculated by counting the number of writhing in mice for 1 hour. The results showed that the ethanol extract of cherry leaf has analgesic effect. From the calculation of the first dose analgesic power (42.9%), second dose (59.4%) and the third dose 69.9%. Statistical test results kruskal wallis value of p=0.011 (p<0.05) showed a significant difference between all analgesic treatment groups. The conclusion of this study is all of the ethanol extract had analgesic effects on male white mice, whereas a dose of 400mg/kg is the most effective analgesic dose.

This study was carried out to investigate the protective effect of ethanol extract of Curcuma mangga rhizomes on paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity. High dose of paracetamol (1.35g/kg bw) was used to induce hepatic necrosis of mice liver. The male mice  received ethanol extract of C. mangga rhizomes (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg BW) for 7 days. The hepatoprotective actvity of extract was compared to normal, positive (curcuma) and negative control. The liver function was evaluated by measuring the biochemistry parameters which include alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). In addition, histophatological study on hepatic tissue section was also carried out. The C. mangga extract displayed hepatoprotective effect except at dose of 100 mg/kg bw. The increasing of serum levels of AST and ALT were inhibited after treatment with ethanol extract at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kb bw which was comparable with normal and curcuma as postive control (p>0.05). In addition, histological assessment of hepatic tissue demonstrated no liver damage, specially at dose of 400 mg/kb BW. The result indicate that ethanol extract of C. mangga rhizomes has hepatoprotective effect, especially at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg bw .   Keywords: C. mangga, rhizomes, biochemistry parameters, histopathology

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a sodium salt from glutamic acid which is currently very popular to be used as a food flavoring ingredient to stimulate appetite. Exessive consumption of MSG can disrupt the balance of antioxidants and ROS, and cause the negative effects of oxidative stress on testes. Coffee has high chlorogenic acid, function for antioxidants and reduce the negative effect on cell damage in the testes. This study aims to analyze the effect of robusta coffee extract on histological of mice testes induced with MSG. This study was completely randomized design (CRD), using 20 male mice for 5 treatment groups: K+ (MSG 0.12 mg and Vitamin C 6 mg), K- (MSG 0.12 mg and CMC Na 0.1 ml), P1 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.1 mg), P2 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.2 mg), and P3 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.4 mg) orally for 42 days. Histophatological scores were analyzed with Saphiro-Wilk Test and Anova. There is no effect of increasing testicular weight. 0,12 mg MSG can cause a decrease in the number of spermatogonia and spermatocytes. 0,2 mg robusta coffee extract can maintain the number of spermatogonia and spermatocytes.

This experiments is conducted to investigate the effect of using various levels of  Dried Distillers Corn  Grains and supplemented with the Iraqi probiotic with fermentation treatment on the physiological performance of  laying hens .Atotal of   600 laying hens ( ISA Brown ) at the age of  22 weeks are used . Hens are assigned randomly on 12 treatment groups with  two replicates for each treatment , 25 hens for each replicate .The treatment  groups are as follows : T1 : The control treatment , no supplementation ( the negative control ) T2 : The control treatment with  Iraqi  probiotic ( the first  positive control ) . T3 : The control treatment with Iraqi probiotic + Fermentation ( the second  positive control ) . T4 : Dried Distillers Corn Grains"DDG 10 % . T5 : DDG 10 % + Iraqi Probiotic . T6 : DDG 10 % + Iraqi Probiotic + Fermentation . T7 : DDG 20 % . T8 : DDG 20 % + Iraqi Probiotic .  T9 : DDG 20 % + Iraqi probiotic + Fermentation . T10 : DDG 30 % . T11 : DDG 30 % + Iraqi probiotic . T12 : DDG 30 % +  Iraqi probiotic + Fermentation . The diets are given in a ground form . The lighting program and the water supplementing regime are performed according to ( guides for laying hen - ISA-Brown ) from the age of 22 weeks till the age of 37 weeks . The results obtained could be summarized as follows : Diet supplementation with Iraqi probiotic significantly ( p < 0.05) increases the  total bacteria count  and lactic acid bacteria  and decrease the count of E. coliin the jujinum  of treated birds  as compared with control – Treatments significantly  increase the villi high  and  crypts depth in favor of the treatments which contained DDG The serum cholesterol in treatments  which fed on diets supplemented with DDG exception the control which fed10% DDG fermented  with probiotic . DDG Treatments significantly( p < 0.05) decrease triglyceride compared with the T12 (30% DDG andfermentation with  probiotic ) in addition to high significant  in total protein and globuin experience for all treatments as compared with T11 (30% and probiotic ).

Background: Foodborne diseases are caused by acquired pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella enteritidis. It causes an intestinal imbalance and the microbial toxins found in the gastrointestinal tract induce symptoms such as diarrhea. Coffee contains active ingredients such as antioxidants and is used as an anti-inflammatory agent by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in the body. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction between Lampung’s robusta coffee and tissue damage in chickens infected by S. enteritidis. Methods: This study used first-day-old Isa brown layer chickens (n = 60), which were divided into five treatment groups. The negative control group consisted of healthy and normal chickens, whereas the positive control group consisted of chickens infected with S. enteritidis bacteria at a concentration of 108 CFU/ml. Groups T1, T2, and T3 were given coffee extract with doses of 500 mg/kg BW (low dose), 1,000 mg/kg BW (moderate dose), and 1,500 mg/kg BW (high dose), respectively, and then infected with S. enteritidis bacteria at a concentration of 108 CFU/ml. The coffee extract and bacteria were given orally via a feeding tube at a volume of 0.5 ml per chick. The extract was given for 14 days (from day 3 to day 16), and the bacteria were given on days 16 and 17. On day 18, the chickens were necropsied. The malondialdehyde (MDA) level was analyzed using one-way analysis of variance test with the GLM procedure (<0.05), while the tissue histopath was analyzed using a descriptive qualitative study to examine the ileal damage Results: The results showed that the MDA levels (nmol/l) decreased in treatment groups T1, T2, and T3 compared to the positive control. On the contrary, we found improvements in the ileum histopathology of group T1 and T2 in the form of normal and regular intestinal epithelium arrangement of the ileum, long intestinal villi, and decreased total leukocytes. Conclusion: Green coffee robusta has the potential to increase antioxidants and reduce inflammation in the small intestine of chickens infected with S. enteritidis.

Bean robusta coffee contains polyphenol compounds which are useful as antioxidants. Antioxidants can inactivate the development of oxidation reactions, by preventing the formation of free radicals. Robusta coffee bean plant (Coffea canephora) is an ingredient that can be formulated into lotion preparations. Cosmetic lotion aims to remove dead skin cells, brighten the skin and soften the skin. This research is to make lotion preparations from robusta coffee bean extract (Coffea Canephora) . This research uses pure experiment. Robusta coffee beans are extracted by maceration process. The lotion formulation is made with variations of robusta coffee bean powder (Coffea Canephora) with a concentration of 2%, 3%, and 4%. The characteristic test includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, Ph test, and irritation test. The purpose of this study was to determine the lotion formulation for robusta coffee bean extract (Coffea Canephora). The results of the lotion test had a homogeneous concentration of 2%, 3% and 4%, light brown to blackish brown, with a distinctive smell of coffee. The ph lotion test had a PH of 5 in all formulations on the blank had a PH of 6. The irritation test on the lotion preparation showed no erythema and edema in 5 volunteers. From all the tests carried out, the lotion formulation has good characteristics.

Objective: The effect of environmental enrichment on the behaviour of piglets in the nursery phase was evaluated.Methods: A total of 450 hybrid pigs (21 day old), including both females and uncastrated males, weighing approximately 6 kg, were distributed in a completely randomised design with 3 treatments and 3 replicates of 50 animals each. The treatments were: i) pen without environmental enrichment (control), ii) treatment consisting of continuous environmental enrichment (CEE) with rubber balls throughout the experimental period, and iii) treatment consisting of environmental enrichment with washed balls (EEWB) during the whole experimental period which were removed daily for washing. For the behavioural evaluation, 10 animals were randomly selected per replicate. The behavioural assessments were performed once a week, from 8 am to 6 pm, using images captured with a video camera. The data were submitted to non-parametric analyses, the means were compared using the Bonferroni test, and Person’s correlations were also calculated.Results: A statistical difference (p = 0.001) was observed in the B5 (playful) behaviour; the animals in the EEWB treatment group had a higher frequency of this behaviour than animals in the control treatment group. The animals in the control group showed a higher frequency of B7 behaviour (lying down) (p = 0.026) than those in the EEWB and CEE treatment groups. The animals in the control group had a higher frequency of the B9 (belly nosing) behaviour than those in the EEWB group (p = 0.015). There was a tendency towards a higher frequency of behaviour B3 (walking in the pen) (p = 0.067) when the animals received the control treatment than treatments EEWB or CEE.Conclusion: The use of an enriching object improved the animal welfare and altered the correlation between the evaluated behaviours compared to the animals that did not have environmental enrichment.
