The aim of  the research is to describe low score of the students is caused by the lack motivation of the students in studying PKn subject. There could be motivation factor is also influenced by the lack of teaching media and teaching method  used by teacher when she/he is teaching. So far the teaching method used by teacher is lecture method which has one way communication or  teacher centered where students are passive. This condition makes the students feel boring while they are studying.The aim of the research is to investigate the application of cooperative teaching and learning with Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) toward the increase of motivation and learning outcome in  the PKn subject of the MTsN Batu Benawa students Grade IX A in 2014.This research applied action research method with observation method in group discussion. This research has two cycles, each of which contains one meeting.  Qualitative data  is analyzed descriptively; quantitative data is analyzed in percentage.The data analysis result shows that student motivation in studying PKn can be increased. Learning outcome can also be increased. Class mean score has increased in 17 points. In the first cycle, it is found that the student learning outcome is 64 for pre test and 81 for post test.  Class mean score in the second cycle can be increased to 25 point, from 65 to 90. It is a high improvement. Classical learning mastery also increases. It can be seen from post test result. Post test score in the first cycle is 72% and can be increased into 91% in the second cycle.Keywords: learning motivation, learning outcome, Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), teaching strategy

Many students find it difficult to accept fraction material from the teacher because student are more receptive to material through the surrounding environment such as fruit, bread, marbles, stones, etc. The purpose of this researchs to determine student learning outcome whether thereis influence when use the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model of mathematics subject matter in the 4th grade SDN Jombatan IV Jombang. This type of research is PreExperimental Design, the design used is one-group pretest -posttest design. The study focus on student learning outcomes in fraction material with the CTL model. Based on research that has been done, it can seen than more than 90% of students can achieve KKM value. In testing the test-t if the value of t is greater than t table then the hypothesis is accepted. It is evident from the results of the study that tcount = 5.344219271 and ttable = 2.178812827, which means that it has a strong signification shows that there is an influencer on student learning outcomes. The one-party test, it turns out that tcount falls in the area of acceptance of Ha, which the result test shows menunjukkan thitung ˃ ttabel so that the conclusion are Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it can be said that learning uses Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) can affect of student learning outcomes.

The aims of this research are: 1) to investigate the effectiveness of cooperative teaching practice using STAD type in the topic of comparison; 2). investigate whether the learning outcome of the students who were involved in cooperative learning process is better than those who were involved in conventional learning process in the topic of comparison. This research was quasi experimental research. The samples of this research were the students of VIIA as the experimental classroom and the students of VIIB as the control classroom. Based on the descriptive analysis, it was concluded that the use of cooperative learning using STAD type in the topic of comparison in SMPN II Megaluh was proven effective with criteria 1) students mastery reach 87.09%, 2) the students active participation is effective, 3) the teachers capability in managing classroom is effective, 4) the students response of the teaching and learning practice are positive. Based on the analysis by using inferential t-test, it was gained ttest= 2.197 and ttest > ttable,. It means the students learning outcome using cooperative teaching and learning process was better than those using conventional teaching and learning process in SMPN II Megaluh Jombang, academic year 2013/2014.

This research is based on the fact that the indicators of student’s independence and attention are low in learning process. This research aimed to describe the level of student’s independence (aspect of self confidence and responsibility), level of student’s attention (sustained attention and executive attention), cognitive learning outcome, student’s response, learning process, and the problems of learning process. The research design used is one group pretest-post test design, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted on the students of senior high school (Madrasah Aliyah) class X in second semester. The result of research shows the level of student’s independence, attention and test score of student learning outcome either male or female students were improving. The student’s response of learning by using the integrated group investigation of power teaching also gets a good response and the learning process is categorized as very good category. Problem faced is only about creating the media of presentation but it can solved by student’s creativity to create the media. The conclusion of this research, is that by using The Integrated group Investigation of power teaching can keep the student’s independence, attention, and student learning outcome in ecosystem material. Thus method also gets a good response, and learning process is categorized as a very good category, and the problem of learning process can be solve by student’s creativity.: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa masih terdapat indikator – indikator kemandirian dan atensi siswa yang rendah dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemandirian siswa (aspek percaya diri dan tanggung jawab), tingkat atensi siswa (aspek atensi berkelanjutan dan atensi eksekutif), hasil belajar kognitif, respon siswa, keterlaksanaan rencana pembelajaran, dan kendala-kendala pada proses pembelajaran. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Group Pretest-Postest Design, dan analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa MA (Madrasah Aliyah) kelas X pada semester genap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kemandirian, tingkat atensi, dan tes hasil belajar siswa baik kelas putra ataupun kelas putri mengalami peningkatan. Respon siswa terkait pembelajaran menggunanakan Group Investigation terintegrasi Power Teaching juga mendapatkan respon yang baik, dan keterlaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran tergolong pada kategori baik sekali. Kendala yang dihadapi hanya terkait pada pembuatan media presentasi, akan tetapi hal tersebut dapat diatasi dengan kreatifitas masing – masing siswa dalam pembuatan media tersebut. Simpulan penelitian ini, bahwa metode pembelajaran Group Investigation terintegrasi Power Teaching dapat mempertahankan kemandirian, atensi, dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi ekosistem. Metode tersebut juga mendapatkan respon yang baik, dan keterlaksanaan  rencana pembelajaran yang juga tergolong baik sekali, serta kendala pembelajaran yang bisa diselesaikan dengan kreativitas siswa.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the effect of using guided inquiry teaching method in improving grade eight students’ conceptual understanding of photosynthesis. The study employed Quasi-experimental research method. The data collection instruments were multiple choice tests, observation, as well as informal assessment. The pre-test and post-test were administered before and after treatment respectively. The informal assessment also administered before and after intervention. Besides, the observation was conducted from the first day up to the last day of the intervention. The pre-test and post-test data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-tests quantitatively while; data collected through informal assessment and observation were presented using narration. The finding of pre-test revealed that there was no significant difference between the mean score of the two groups. The post-test result revealed that experimental group students significantly improved their conceptual understanding of the topic photosynthesis compared to the control group students. The study concluded that guided inquiry teaching method is more effective than the lecture method in improving students’ conceptual understanding of photosynthesis. Based on the finding of this study, it was recommended that governments should encourage biology teachers to apply guided inquiry teaching method by providing appropriate instructional material. <p>Research into what takes place between the instructional intent of a teaching act and students’ experience of the same act is central to better understanding teaching and learning. In this case study, individual teacher and student interviews, qualitative observation and textual analysis were used to compare teacher intention with student learning outcome, to judge congruence between the two. The study, in a large urban primary school, focused on two classrooms of students from 9-­‐13 years old. Congruence between teacher intention and student learning outcome, was examined over five consecutive lessons that aimed to achieve a particular outcome. It was found that teachers’ and students’ explanatory context was influential. In particular, the alignment between conceptions of learning informing teacher intention and task was significant. Where the conceptions aligned, there was greater congruence. Where there was a disjuncture, congruence was compromised. In addition teacher knowledge of curriculum content, the pervasiveness of task perception and the impact of outcome space was material. The study highlights an opportunity for further research into the congruence between teacher intention and student learning outcome where deep conceptions of learning inform instructional intent and into the impact of teacher belief systems on the conceptions of learning held.</p>

This study investigated the effects of problem-solving teaching method on elementary school students’ physics achievement at elementary school. In this investigation an experimental research procedure was used. Along with this, a sample of sixty students was drawn from a total of three hundred seventy-eight students using lottery method of sampling technique. Physics achievement test (pre-test and post-test) covering the unit ‘’Introduction to Electronics’’ was used as measuring instrument. Then, based on the pre-test scores, mixed ability groups such as fifteen high and fifteen low scoring 30 students each were assigned as experimental (13Fand17M) and control(15 and15M) groups using lottery method of sampling technique Students in the experimental group were taught using problem solving teaching method while those in the control group were instructed with lecture teaching method. The post-test constructed by the writer in the sample unit taught was administrated to both groups immediately after the treatment was over. Finally, the results of the study revealed that problem-solving teaching method was more effective in teaching physics as compared with lecture method at elementary school level.   Key words: Achievement, Effect, Elementary, Physics, problem

This research is aimed to investigate the effectiveness of reciprocal teaching strategy embedding critical thinking for students’ reading comprehension at the second grade of MIA at MAN 1 Kendari. Quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed to investigate the effectiveness of the method, as well as students’ perception. The study was guided by two research questions: (a) does reciprocal teaching method embedding critical thinking (RTT+) affect MIA second graders’ reading comprehension; (b) how do students perceive RTT+? Ninety-seven students participated in the present study.    The instruments   of   the   study   were   reading   comprehension   test   and questionnaires. Reading comprehension test was administered on two different occasions; before and after treatment, whereas questionnaires were administered prior to the end of the study. Paired sample t-test was employed to examine possible differences in students’ pre- and post- test  scores. The  results  show  significant  improvement  in  students’  post-test  scores. The subject of this research is 30 students at class Social Science-2 grade XII in SMA 12 of Medan, whilst the object of research is teaching method of inquiry. Whereas the tools of collecting data is score list of student. Based on pre-test to 30 students, resulting 27 students (90 percent) reached lower of learning outcome (not passed) by had not obtained yet 70 score of Minimal Passing Score and 3 students (10 percent) were categorized as passed and obtained 70 of Minimal Passing Score. Then in the first cycle, resulting 12 students (40 percent) were categorized as passed and reached 70 score of minimal, and 18 students (60 percent) were categorized as not passed and had not obtained yet 70 score of minimal.  In the second cycle, resulting 27 students (90 percent) were categorized as passed and obtained 70 score of minimal, and 3 students (10 percent) were categorized as not passed and had not reached yet 70 score of minimal. Based on result of the research from pre test, post test of both firts and second cycle, there were increasing of learning outcome significantly. Therefore can be concluded that by using method of inquiry, can be elvate learning outcome of students on the subject of Economy on subject matter of Basic Competence in Writing Closing Journal at class Social Science-2 grade XII in SMA 12 of Medan in 2012/2013 school year.
