Distance education requires the teacher to conduct systematic classes with the student, methodologically competent use the developed content for distance learning, means of communication, and educational resources of the Internet, as well as implement technical support for the educational process. The purpose of the study is to develop educational and methodological support for the process of professional self-improvement of teachers in higher education institutions when working remotely. The study analyzes the role of a teacher in the distance learning system, identifies the types of teacher’s activities, as well as the requirements and conditions for their successful work. Working online expands and renews the teacher’s role, makes them a mentor-consultant who coordinates the cognitive process, constantly improving their course and increasing creativity and qualifications in accordance with innovations. Based on empirical research using the survey method, the dynamics of teachers’ readiness to work online before and after passing the interdisciplinary course “Distance Education Technologies in the Educational Process of the University” were determined. Positive results in the formation of teachers’ readiness to work online after completing the course were obtained. The study concluded that the readiness of teachers to work remotely can be increased if the appropriate educational and methodological support is developed and implemented in higher education institutions, which will lead to an increase in the effectiveness of teachers’ work.

Since March 2020, CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) pandemic has affected many sectors, including education sector at the global level and at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Preventative procedures have been taken, including suspending teaching and training for K-12 and higher education and moving to use distance education as an alternative to face-to-face education, with the continuation of the Corona pandemic, the Ministry of Education decided to consider the e-learning (distance education and blended education) as a strategic alternative to overcome crises threatening the educational process . With the widespread use of e-learning platforms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the interest of the quality of e-courses increased more than before. Therefore, this study proposes a model for ensuring the quality of e-learning and e-courses in higher education institutions and developing a set of evidence and suggested performance indicators that help those responsible for quality management to verify and validate the adherence to these standards. Dar Al-Uloom University was chosen as a case study of what was implemented during the Corona pandemic and the extent of the university’s commitment to this standards to ensure continuous improvement and raise the level of performance related to the e-learning system and its e-courses.

The study aims to assess the effectiveness of the current distance learning process in the higher education institutions, to identify the types of distance learning, negative and positive aspects of its implementation, to describe the prospects and approaches to solving the problems of distance education at universities. The study was based on the analysis of the questionnaire survey of lecturers throughout Ukraine and the Kyrgyz Republic results, which were received in the period from March to April 2020. The novelty of the research conducted in the article was to find solutions to the emerging difficulties in the pedagogical staff of Ukraine and the Kyrgyz Republic during the first periods of the pandemic outbreak. The proposed methods can be used to achieve long-term practical results in providing support to higher education institutions, their leaders, lecturers and students in organizing distance learning, as well as to overcome barriers to lecturers' access to information on the usage of digital tools for distance learning.

Тhe pandemic, which created educational problems in Ukraine, led to the significant changes in the educational organization. All higher education institutions have mooved to distance learning. Thanks to the usage of distance learning systems, Moodle, which is its own website content management system, specifically designed to create quality online teaching courses, has a wide range of opportunities, and very actual. The purpose of our article is to show how the usage of the distance learning system Moodle during the study of the course «Higher and Applied Mathematics» affects the organization of independent students work, which is the basis of higher education. After all, only the knowledge that a person came to on their own way, become a really strong asset. Description of applied research methods: (i) Theoretical: analysis of pedagogical, psychological and special literature in order to justify the need to use the learning management system Moodle in the process of distance learning; generalization of domestic and foreign researches results on the specified problem. (ii) Empirical: pedagogical observations, conversations with teachers and students of higher education on the use of distance learning Moodle in the course «Higher and Applied Mathematics». The results of the research indicate that the advantages of the Moodle learning platform while studying the discipline «Higher and Applied Mathematics» allow not only to effectively organize independent work of students, but also to increase their motivation through the usage of new forms and methods of teaching. And this, in turn, allows not only to intensify the learning of students, but also lays a solid foundation for their further continuing self-education. As you can see, the integration of traditional and modern distance technologies in the organization of the educational process in higher education institutions allows to make more effective the quality of the entire educational process in a whole.

The relevance of the research is explained by the necessity of developing digital competence of teachers of Humanitarian disciplines at the higher education institutions in the conditions of the quarantine measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is particularly challenging for teachers of Humanitarian disciplines, who are not specialists in the digital sphere as their profession is focused on humans. The purpose of the paper is to define the influence of the quarantine on the work of teachers at the higher education institutions, revealing the level of the development, challenges and peculiarities of enhancing the digital competence of teachers of Humanitarian disciplines, theirs needs in education and giving recommendations how to arrange education and make administrative decisions. The methods of the research are survey, theoretical analysis, others. The results are to define the peculiarities of the influence of the quarantine on the arrangement of distance learning, the peculiarities of developing digital competence of teachers during the quarantine, their needs in education, the challenges in conducting mass distance learning, the determined complex of scientific approaches to developing digital competence. The practical significance of the research refers to developing electronic educational resource as a set of methodological tools that provides all stages of the educational process, based on the results of diagnosing teachers’ digital competence.

The organization of the educational process in higher education institutions in a pandemic is analyzed. It is focused on the relevance of using distance learning. It operates on the basis of modern psychological, pedagogical and information and communication technologies. Based on the researches of scientific and pedagogical sources, global and national trends in the development of distance education in Ukraine are named according to certain features. Global trends include globalization, integration, internationalization, informatization. National trends identify the renewal of regulatory and legislative support for distance education, regulatory policy for the provision of distance learning and educational services and practices for ensuring their quality. Attention is drawn to the problem of teachers’ digital competencies development, finding ways to form and develop the readiness of teaching staff in the field of adult education to carry out professional activities in terms of distance learning. The analysis of normative documents regulating distance learning is carried out. The results of the Polish-Ukrainian study on “Students in the terms of the COVID-19ˮ, organized by the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Pedagogical University to determine the features of distance learning in the terms of COVID-19 pandemic is described. The study covered 412 various specialties students of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education. The survey reflected the issue of distance learning assessment and the tools used by teachers. It was found that the most teaching staff used Zoom, Viber and the MOODLE platform, which meets all the basic criteria for e-learning systems. During the quarantine period, the University administration created all the conditions for the use of this platform. It is concluded that it is necessary to update the legal framework for distance learning, to adapt practical and seminar classes to the conditions of online learning, to increase the level of digital literacy and readiness teaching staff to use distance technology, to provide scientific and methodological support for the educational process in terms of distance learning. Технологии меняют образ жизни и деятельность человека. Глобальная сеть Интернет облегчает быстрый доступ к полезной информации. Социальная, культурная и образовательная конкурентоспособность находятся под влиянием образовательных технологий, которые положительно влияют на стиль, продолжительность и метод обучения в высших учебных заведениях. Дистанционное образование возможно применять и как полноценную самодостаточную форму, и как дополнение к классическому обучению в аудиториях. Автор рассматривает в статье дистанционную форму обучения как альтернативу традиционной форме преподавания в вузах на время периодов самоизоляции (пандемии, сезонные карантины), а также как дополнение к традиционным формам обучения. Анализируются проблемные и положительные аспекты применения данной формы. Указаны возможные форматы обучения в условиях дистанционного образования. Выделены сильные и слабые стороны использования некоторых технологий. Technologies alter the way of living and work of a person. The Internet world network makes it easier to quickly access useful information. Social, cultural and educational competitiveness are influenced by educational technologies that positively influence the style, duration and method of education in higher education institutions. Distance education can be used as a full-fledged self-sufficient form, or as a Supplement to classical training in classrooms. The author considers distance learning as an alternative to the traditional form of teaching in higher education institutions during periods of self-isolation (pandemics, seasonal quarantines), as well as as an addition to traditional forms of education. The problem and positive aspects of using this form are analyzed. Possible formats of training in the conditions of distance education are specified. The strengths and weaknesses of the use of certain technologies are highlighted.

This article focuses on the latest approaches to the effective delivery of distance education for the students of economic specialties in China’s higher education institutions in force majeure circumstances. Distance education was introduced due to the complex global epidemiological situation, unpredictable for the entire world community. The growing role and importance of distance learning in contemporary higher education overall and the education of economists in particular have been outlined. The need to use and constantly upgrade software and distance learning platforms is emphasized. The current Chinese approaches to the provision of the economists’ distance education in higher education institutions are outlined. The efficiency factors of the economists’ distance education in China’s higher education institutions were determined and substantiated. Namely, the following efficiency factors were considered: importance of approbation and implementation of the new interaction methods among the participants of the teaching and learning process, game approach application aimed at the formation of motivation of students to study, the creation and continuous modernization of the informational and educational environment of the university, the provision of a free access to up-to-date digital technology and information and communication learning technologies, the use and efficient combination of distance learning platforms in teaching disciplines, the formation of digital competence of students and teachers, as well as the openness of the colleges and university management and faculty to change. The effectiveness study of distance education provision for the students of economics was experimentally tested. The results of distance learning and teaching during the semester in force majeure circumstances were analyzed on the basis of empirical data from the students’ survey at the Department of Economics of a state-owned Chinese higher education institution. The research findings emphasize the feasibility of studying and analyzing China’s positive experience in the provision of distance learning economic education in force majeure circumstances. Recommendations for the implementation of China's experience in economists’ training in Eastern European universities were elaborated and presented.

This study aims to analyze the level of readiness of higher education institutions in implementing e-learning during COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, this study also tries to analyze the level of satisfaction in using e-learning at higher education. This study applied a survey method by sending online questionnaires to lecturers at various universities in West Sumatra. 112 respondents participated in this study. Based on the data, it was found that the level of technological readiness and human resources readiness at universities in West Sumatra are in the ready category, but still need a little improvement. Meanwhile, the levels of readiness of innovation and self-development are categorized as unprepared, and need improvement. Furthermore, this study also shows that the level of satisfaction of e-learning users is still quite satisfied.

Introduction. During the past ten years the important changes in educational programs of higher education point out the transition from the traditional live lecture form to the distance learning form (the online training format). Training for innovative engineering activities requires to involve students in the online training format and to explore its applicability.The aim of the present article is to identify the areas of the effective use of the online training format in the educational process for high school institutions and the prospects of further development of the distance learning.Methodology and research methods. In this article, an integration of theoretical and practical training of the innovative engineering with the methods of the analysis and synthesis, a pedagogical experiment and mathematical statistics were used.Results. The areas of use of the online learning in the field of traditional and innovative formats of training have been identified. A subsystem of storage of the information on the course of educational activities is suggested. A high efficiency of the distance learning application is confirmed by the results of a pedagogical experiment within the unified programs for a wide audience of students and persons having the right to an individual work schedule.Scientific novelty. The performed research contributes to identify the framework of the effective use of the online learning at higher education institutions. The suggested form of storage of the information on the education process events in a separate subsystem allow for processing and generalising the data with the use of the BigData and DataMining technologies.Practical significance. Further development of the research presented in this article might be focused on the establishment of numerical relations when using various education formats within various disciplines providing the greatest effect when training students at higher education institutions.

This article discusses modern approaches to the organization of distance learning for students with disabilities in higher education.
