Learning process is the most important part in education as an effort to mature learners, The success of the learning process becomes a benchmark achievement of learning objectives. To know the achievement of the success of learning objectives, it must be done evaluation / assessment. In particular the purpose of evaluation to determine the progress of learning outcomes of learners after following the learning, as well as to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of methods, strategies that teachers use in learning. Evaluation of learning has an important and strategic meaning in education, because the learning process becomes meaningful, as well as its evaluation results can be used as a basis to determine the next step, for teachers, principals, institutions, parents, and government. The importance of learning evaluation can be seen from the approach of the learning process, the characteristics of professional educators, and the institutional approach, but it can also be seen from its purpose, function and principles and the validity and reliability of its evaluation tool.

This study aims to determine the implementation of violin courses at Yamaha Music School Padang. The data were obtained during the learning process. Interviews were conducted to violin instructors at Yamaha Music School Padang. In addition, photos during the violin learning process at Yamaha Music School Padang were documented. Based on the research results, the implementation of music courses at Yamaha Music School Padang, especially the violin course, "seems not guided" by the concepts and principles of the Yamaha method. In fact, the materials contained in the Yamaha Music Examination Syllabus as an evaluation of learning outcomes based on YMES clearly describes the achievement of students’ learning outcomes based on YMES. The materials contained in the Yamaha Music Examination Syllabus also evaluate the “readiness” of students towards creative abilities. Likewise, the principle of Emphasis on creativity is increasingly not being noticed in music courses at Yamaha Music School Padang if it is viewed from the 'minimal' 'activity' carried out by Yamaha Music School Padang. Keywords: Implementation, Violin Course, Yamaha Music School Padang

The intention of formative assessment tools usage is mainly to assess learning outcomes easily and quickly in a classroom environment. However, the tools need to be accurate and informative for teachers and students. At the end of any learning process, students certainly need to know their level of understanding in the learning process and what are the next steps for them to encounter. However, with increasing numbers of students in a classroom and increasing teaching workload among teachers, the teachers can gain benefits from these tools in assessing the outcomes quickly and more effectively. Formative assessment contributes to the learning process by providing the teachers with feedback on how successful the teaching method is and how well the students understand a particular lesson. This article will discuss the usage of formative assessment tools in education. It describes and reviews several kinds of literature related to alternative ways to assess students using technology transform assessment in the teaching process. The reviews use a comparison technique using twelve-criteria of technology transform assessment using three formative assessment tools available in the market. It is believed that technology transform assessment can bring an enjoyable and engaging assessment environment in the classroom.

Laboratory work of Pharmaceutical Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM aims to provide skills of applying antigens, antibodies, and immunological techniques in pharmaceutical; and ideally each student should be able to perform it completely. However, the limitation of time and facilities making the learning process ineffective. An innovative learning method such as hybrid e-learning is expected to increase the learning effectiveness. Learning materials and online quizzes/discussions were uploaded and carried out using elisa.ugm.ac.id (eLisa), respectively, combined with on-site works in the laboratory. The method was evaluated by examination scores and final grades. Student participations in online quizzes increased from first to fourth quiz (average participation rate 98.86±0.87%). Compared to the conventional method applied in 2016 (n=207), the examination average score did not increase; however, the percentage of students whose score is 90-100 were higher in the hybrid e-learning. The average final grade of the hybrid e-learning was 81.43±0.70; whereas the conventional method of 2016 was 80.22±5.22. More than 80% students (n=48) expressed easiness in following courses and were satisfied with the online learning materials’ quality. Hence, the hybrid e-learning results positive effects in increasing the effectiveness of the learning process. Development of more interactive online platforms is needed to optimize the learning process.

This paper presents a gamification framework for higher education, especially for programming language courses to increase user motivation, pleasure and satisfaction so that learning objectives can be achieved. Although student and lecturer motivation, pleasure, and satisfaction tend to increase compared to conventional techniques, gamification is not a panacea. The success of its application depends on the skill of the lecturer in choosing a game mechanic to give a sense of playing to the learning process in a more interesting way. The technique is done by dividing the class into two parts where one class uses the conventional method and one class uses the gamification method and the results will be evaluated through the assessment results before using the gamification method and after using the gamification method. The framework in this paper adds to the existing framework activities, namely adding in the field of baseline analysis, learning materials and tools used in gamification, where previous papers from three activities have not been discussed in detail. The results obtained turned out that using the gamification technique of student learning outcomes on average 15 to 25 better than using conventional techniques.
