The aim of the study is to assess the attitude of teachers towards environmental ethics and to develop ethics in them in case of lack of concern towards it. After reviewing so many relevant literatures the investigators considered the three dimensions of environmental ethics i.e., anthropocentrism, eco-centrism and bio-centrism and constructed 84 items based on these dimensions. Investigators consulted 15 experts from various educational and environmental fields for the content and face validity of scale. After expert judgment, 19 items were rejected for overall ambiguities while 65 items were selected for preliminary try-out of the scale over 100 teachers selected through Simple Random sampling technique. Final draft of the scale with 54 items was administered over 300 teachers both from eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. After final item analysis of Environmental Ethics Attitude Scale, 46 items were retained on the basis of the t-value, which was found significant (0.05 level of significance). Out of these 46 items, 34 are positive and 12 are negative statements. The reliability of the tool was 0.836 by Alpha Cronbach to check internal consistency of the tool and by Split Half Test was 0.734.

This study aimed to develop an instrument for measuring the attitudes that reflect the characteristics of the pandemic (Adult Pandemic Attitude Scale (A-PAS)) and verifying its validity and reliability. This study used a methodological research design and was conducted with a development step and an evaluation step. The development step included development of preliminary items, content validity, face validity, and preliminary investigation. The evaluation step included item analysis, construct validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity, criterion validity, factor naming, reliability, and completion of the final instrument. The A-PAS developed in this study consisted of a total of 20 items in five dimensions. The internal consistency of 20 items of the A-PAS, Cronbach’s α was 0.92 for 20 items, Cronbach’s α for each factor, a subscale of instrument, was 0.61~0.87 and Raykov’s p coefficient of each factor, which is a subscale of the tool, was found to be 0.60 to 0.88. Analysis of construct validity showed the results as follows: χ2 (p) = 134.05 (p < 0.001), RMSEA = 0.02, RMR = 0.02, GFI = 0.94, CFI = 0.99. The study findings suggest that the developed instrument can be utilized to measure the attitudes of adults toward pandemics, and reflect the reality of the pandemic situation. The outcomes can be used as valuable data for intervention, prevention activities, and policy preparation. The instrument will be applied in the event of a pandemic, such as COVID-19, and will be helpful in promoting the health of the people.

The current study investigates the extent of the contribution of five facets of management by walking around (MBWA) — discovering facts, communication, motivation, creativity, and feedback — to improving organizational excellence in media institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. Especially as these institutions suffer from a lack of communication and interaction between their management and their employees. The descriptive analytical approach was used in this study. Using a simple random sampling technique, data were collected using a questionnaire from 260 respondents working as administrative staff in three media institutions: The Directorate General of Media, the Omani News Office in Dhofar Governorate, and the General Authority for Radio and Television. To test the study hypotheses, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by AMOS software. The results revealed that, of the five facets investigated, three dimensions of MBWA (namely discovering facts, communication, and feedback) have a positive and significant impact on organizational excellence, while motivation and creativity do not appear to affect organizational excellence. This study, therefore recommends working to create a supportive environment for applying MBWA in media institutions and educating managers in these media institutions on the importance of MBWA through workshops, training courses, and conferences to reach excellence in these institutions.

Most patients with Cancer cannot adapt to their disease because they assume that it is a deadly disease. The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between family support and adaptability of patients suffered from Cancer found at Yayasan Kanker Indonesia (Indonesian Cancer Foundation) located in East Java. This analytic study using cross sectional design involved the population of all people with Cancer found at Yayasan Kanker Indonesia located in East Java, totaling 30 patients. The samples of 27 patents were collected using simple random sampling technique. The independent variable was family support, whereas the dependent variable was adaptability. Questionnaires were used to collect the data analyzed using Mann-Whitney test with the level of significance α = 0.05. The result of study showed that most of the patients (70.4%) received good family support, whereas most of them (63.0%) had ability to adapt to their disease. Moreover, the result of Mann-Whitney test showed that p = 0.001 and the level of significance α = 0.05 so that H1 was accepted because p < 0.05. It showed that there was a correlation between family support and adaptability of patients suffered from Cancer found at Yayasan Kanker Indonesia located in East Java.The more family support, the more adaptive the patients with Cancer adapt to their disease. Hence, nurses are expected to give health education about the importance of family support to the family of patients with Cancer.

The study investigated the influence of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation on pupils’ academic performance in mathematics. Based on the purpose of the study two hypotheses guided the study. The descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of all 3056 primary six pupils in Owerri Education zone of Imo State.  A Sample size of 200 primary six pupils was selected for the study.   Simple random sampling technique was used in selecting four schools out of the nine schools. The instruments used for data collection was Academic Motivation Scale and Mathematics Achievement Test. The validity was determined by two experts in measurement and evaluation and one expert in mathematics education. The instruments have reliability coefficient of 0.89 and 0.92 determined using tests-retest method. Data generated were analyzed with the aid SPSS version.  Inferential statistics of t-test and Pearson product moment correlation were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study concludes that motivation improves academic performance of the pupils and there is a gender difference in motivation type and academic performance.

Labour welfare is an umbrella term which includes overall well-being of the worker. Labour welfare facilities are classified by the International Labour Organization (ILO) into two types: intramural labour welfare facilities and extramural labour welfare facilities. In India, several labour legislations have been enacted to provide proper labour welfare facilities to the workers. Factories Act, 1948 is one of most important welfare-related labour legislations in which a number of labour welfare facilities are specified like washing facility, canteen facility, crèches room facility, labour welfare officer, sitting facility, and so on. In this particular study, the researcher chose descriptive research design; sample size of the study is 120 respondents, 60 respondents from each organization were selected by using simple random sampling technique. For data collection, both primary and secondary sources of data were used; as primary data collection, questionnaire method was used. Collected data were analysed in the form of tables and diagrams. Findings of the study are very interesting: some welfare facilities are good in public industry and some are good in private industry.

This study investigated the influence of emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication and job satisfaction on the job performance of staff in Chevron Nigeria Limited, Warri. Four null hypotheses guided the study. The correlation research design was adopted in the study. A sample of 400 was selected by the researchers using simple random sampling technique. The instrument used for data collection was a validated and reliable questionnaire. Regression statistics was used to test the stated null hypotheses, at 0.05 level of significance. The findings in the study showed that the four null hypotheses were rejected which is an indication that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, job satisfaction and job performance of staff in Chevron Nigeria Limited.

Introduction: The CB of clinical nursing students is very important but they are still in the implementation phase of the theory from when it was learned in college. This study aims to describe the correlation between intelligence quotient (IQ), emotional intelligence (EI) and spiritual intelligence (SI) with caring behavior (CB).Methods: This study was descriptive and correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The respondents of this research were all of the clinical nursing students (166 respondents) via the simple random sampling technique. The data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman-rho test with a level of significance ≤ 0.05.Results: The results showed that CB had a correlation with IQ (p=0.019, r=0.211), EI (p=0.048, r=0.178) and SI (p=0.000, r=0.456).Conclusion: IQ, EI, and SI have a correlation with CB. A higher quotient will produce a higher CB. Future research is expected to be able to analyze the other factors related to CB among clinical nursing students.

Entrepreneurial skills are a set of specific knowledge, abilities, skills, traits, motives, attitudes and values essential for the personal development and successful participation of each person in an organization. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial skills on SMEs performance among owners/managers operating registered businesses in Sabon Gari Market Kano, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used while a sample size of one hundred and seventy two (172) business owners/managers were drawn through the use of Yamane (1967) formula for sample size determination out of three hundred and three (303) owners/managers operating registered businesses in Sabon Gari Market, Kano, which constituted the study population. Probability sampling technique was used which involves simple random sampling. Closed-ended questionnaire served as a data collection tool for the study and Regression analysis was used to analyse the collected data through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. Face validity and reliability test (Cronbach’s Alpha) were conducted. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial skills have significant effect on SMEs performance; it also shows that significant relationship exists between entrepreneurial skills and SMEs performance. The study recommends that business owners and managers should focus on improving entrepreneurship skills in order to improve the performance of small and medium scale enterprises. Future researchers should expand the scope of the study to incorporate more organizations; again the research used only one variable, future researchers should use more variables in order to better capture the opinion of the respondents.

The study investigated the perception of undergraduate education students at Federal University Oye Ekiti, Nigeria towards teaching profession. Descriptive research design of the survey type was adopted for the study. An instrument adapted from Alkhateeb (2013) and tagged Students’ Attitude on Teaching Profession (SATPQ) was used to obtain data for the study. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample comprising of 187 undergraduate education students at100 and 200 level. One research question was raised while four research hypotheses were generated for the study. The hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The outcome of the study revealed that undergraduate education students at the Federal University Oye Ekiti had positive attitude towards teaching profession. The study revealed that there was no significant difference in the perception of undergraduate education students at the Federal University Oye Ekiti towards teaching profession based on gender, level of entry, age and entry qualification. Based on the findings of the study it was recommended that undergraduate education students should be provided with necessary incentive to sustain their positive perception towards teaching profession while government should formulate a policy that could change societal perception on teaching profession.

The main purpose of this research work is to investigate the challenges preventing students of educational administration and planning from using ICT for learning in Nigeria higher institutions: a case study of university of Abuja, Nigeria. The sample for this study was all the students in university of Abuja. 50 students from each level of the department of educational administration and planning totaling 200 were randomly selected from the department using simple random sampling technique. One hypothesis and three research questions were postulated as a guide to this study and a seven sub-items questionnaire divided into two sections was used to get the required information. A simple percentage and chi-square were used to test the hypotheses at 0.95% level of significance. It was found out that there are challenges preventing students of educational administration and planning from using ICT for learning. The challenges preventing students of educational administration and planning from using ICT for learning includes; unstable power supply, lack of personal laptop or computer system, unstable ICT Network services, lack of computer literacy by the students, High cost of ICT services, poor infrastructural facilities of ICT in higher institutions and poor computer literacy of the lecturers. Base on the findings, the researchers recommends that the government should increase the funding of education in Nigeria to enable schools administrators provide necessary ICT facilities in their various schools.
