This study aims to examine parents' perceptions of distance learning in response to the closure of many schools due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects consisted of parents of elementary school students, and the data were collected using interview techniques. This study shows that distance learning in a research context is organized in the form of online and offline learning. For parents, the current learning approach is something that must be lived and supported in the absence of other options. Even though parents do not have negative perceptions, distance learning contributes to increasing the burden on parents or families economically, including psychological and social aspects. The lack of parental involvement and support in the learning process of children at home is generally due to the lack of time and the inability of parents to become teachers for their children at home. Actions to accompany and support children's learning at home are carried out in the form of providing internet packages, helping children to master the learning materials, and participating in completing assignments or tests given by the teacher. The surprising finding of this study is that children's learning motivation has decreased, and for the remainder of the school year, parents expect the government to reopen it so that children can study again in class and meet with their peers.

Purpose: Distance learning, which became widespread in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, has been a burdensome challenge for students and lecturers. This study investigated the relationship between academic self-efficacy and burnout in first-year nursing students who participated in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study included 69 first-year nursing students at Jenderal Achmad Yani University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data were collected in September 2020 through self-efficacy and burnout questionnaires that were distributed via email and social media for 2 weeks. The responses were analyzed using the gamma test. Results: Most respondents were women (78.3%), with an average age of 19 years. Most nursing students had a moderate level of academic self-efficacy (72.5%), while only 13.0% of respondents had a low level of academic self-efficacy. However, 46.4% of students experienced severe burnout during distance learning. Cross-tabulation showed that students with moderate self-efficacy were more likely to experience severe burnout (24 respondents) (P<0.01; and γ=-0.884). Exhaustion was the burnout dimension most closely associated with academic self-efficacy.Conclusion: Students perceived distance learning as burdensome and reported high levels of exhaustion, which may negatively impact their academic achievement. Interventions to improve academic self-efficacy may foster students’ confidence, potentially leading to reduced burnout levels. Nurse educators should reflect upon innovative learning strategies to create a favorable learning environment for nursing students.

The existence of public space has become an inseparable part in the development of city residents. Humans as social creatures need a place where they can gather and interact with each other. Especially in big cities, such as Jakarta, the density that occurs makes the lack of land that can be used as public space. This certainly creates difficulties for the community to find qualified social institutions to meet their needs. It is the Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), an alternative run by the government to get around the function of parks and abandoned areas in Jakarta. The revival of public spaces in the midst of the community is expected to be able to accommodate the needs of citizens while at the same time strengthening community relations between city residents. The thesis used as a reference for evaluation took two locations, namely the Alfa Dahlia RPTRA located in the Tegal Alur area, West Jakarta and the RPTRA Kelapa Nias III in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta. Armed with the basis of this thesis research, it will be understood further how social institutions take part in the success of the RPTRA, as well as exploring the depth of the process of institutionalizing the relationship between each supporting community and the RPTRA. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach. Data is collected and reviewed through field observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the study explain that the institutional process plays an important role in the sustainability of the RPTRA in the future.
