Abstract Background COVID-19 brings several challenges to nursing education that involves both classroom theory and clinical-based practical education. These challenges affect the function of health care and academic institution. The students were vulnerable to the challenges of COVID-19 in the clinical care setting. The aim of this study was to explore the challenges of COVID-19 experienced by nursing students during their clinical practice education. Methods The qualitative study method used a phenomenological approach. A total of four Focus group discussions were conducted in this study. Each FGD consists of six participants in which twelve from third and twelve from fourth-year nursing students. The Quota sampling technique was applied in this study to enroll study participants. The moderator who fluently speaks the English language and Note taker was involved in the study to guide group discussion and to record the data. ATLAS.ti version-7 software was used for coding and forming quotations. Results After data analysis, four main themes and twelve subthemes emerged in this study. The main themes of this study were; Risks to contracting COVID-19, Negative impact on health care, Worry, and Loss of experienced staff. Conclusion Nursing students faced many challenges of COVID-19 during clinical practices. These challenges affect nursing students in learning practical skills and health care facilities to provide quality care. The students give emphasize on their learning by implementing COVID-19 prevention protocols. In addition, health care workers focused on safe procedural practices.

Introduction: Lack of knowledge regarding the community among health care providers is an important factor in the discrimination experienced by LGBTQ+ in health care facilities which affects their health and wellbeing. Healthcare providers knowledge and awareness regarding LGBTQ+ community can reduce or eliminate prejudices and discrimination against them. Objective: The objective of the study was assessment of the knowledge of students regarding Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) community in a selected college of Nursing of Delhi. Method: The present study has adopted quantitative approach and descriptive research design. A structured knowledge questionnaire was developed and validated by seven experts. Purposive sampling technique was used and formal permissions were obtained from the authorities. A total number of 68 students of DGNM 1st year and 2nd year has participated in the study after giving informed consent. Pilot study and final study was conducted. Data was analyzed using descriptive studies. Result: The study found that majority of Nursing Students (67.64%) had average knowledge and 32% had poor knowledge and none of the subject had good knowledge regarding LGBTQ+ community. Conclusion: The study concluded that majority of the students have average knowledge and rest have poor knowledge and none of the students have good knowledge regarding LGBTQ+ community.

Professional nurses could be prepared through professional nursing programs. Professional nursing program is part of the nursing education program. One of the competencies required to be professional nurses is implementing evidence-based practice (EBP) to explore the best nursing interventions for patients to get optimal outcome. Nursing students have learned EBP during bachelor degree by analysis case using the EBP method. However, evaluation related  students' understanding of the method and its application of EBP to the clinical practice was none. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge with student competency in the implementation of evidence based practice (EBP) to managed patients in the medical surgical nursing stage. This research is quantitative research. The sample in this study was 120 nursing students who were at professional nursing program that were recruited using total sampling technique. The instrument used is the Evidence Based Practice Questionnaire (EBPQ) questionnaire. The results showed that more than half of the respondents had high knowledge (68%), and high competence (49%). This study shows a meaningful relationship between knowledge of student competence in applying EBP (r = .6070, p <0.01). The findings of this study are important for recommendations related to developing teaching materials in nursing education related to for providing the best service for patients.

Background: Homosexual patients are affected by social factors in their environment, and as a result may not have easy access to existing health care services. Prejudice against homosexuality and homosexual patients remains a barrier to them seeking appropriate healthcare. The concern is that lesbians and gays might delay or avoid seeking health care when they need it because of past discrimination or perceived homophobia within the health care thereby putting their health at risk.Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to explore and describe the experiences of homosexual patients utilising primary health care (PHC) services in Umlazi in the province ofKwaZulu-Natal (KZN).Method: A qualitative, exploratory, descriptive study was conducted which was contextual innature. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 participants. The findings of this study were analysed using content analysis.Results: Two major themes emerged from the data analysis, namely, prejudice against homosexual patients by health care providers and other patients at the primary health care facilities, and, homophobic behaviour from primary health care personnel.Conclusion: Participants experienced prejudice and homophobic behaviour in the course of utilising PHC clinics in Umlazi, which created a barrier to their utilisation of health services located there. Nursing education institutions, in collaboration with the National Department of Health, should introduce homosexuality and anti-homophobia education programmes during the pre-service and in-service education period. Such programmes will help to familiarise health care providers with the health care needs of homosexual patients and may decrease homophobic attitudes.

ObjectivesTo provide information on the effect of the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on people with epilepsy and provide consensus recommendations on how to provide the best possible care for people with epilepsy while avoiding visits to urgent care facilities and hospitalizations during the novel coronavirus pandemic.MethodsThe authors developed consensus statements in 2 sections. The first was “How should we/clinicians modify our clinical care pathway for people with epilepsy during the COVID-19 pandemic?” The second was “What general advice should we give to people with epilepsy during this crisis? The authors individually scored statements on a scale of −10 (strongly disagree) to +10 (strongly agree). Five of 11 recommendations for physicians and 3/5 recommendations for individuals/families were rated by all the authors as 7 or above (strongly agree) on the first round of rating. Subsequently, a teleconference was held where statements for which there was a lack of strong consensus were revised.ResultsAfter revision, all consensus recommendations received a score of 7 or above. The recommendations focus on administration of as much care as possible at home to keep people with epilepsy out of health care facilities, where they are likely to encounter COVID-19 (including strategies for rescue therapy), as well as minimization of risk of seizure exacerbation through adherence, and through ensuring a regular supply of medication. We also provide helpful links to additional helpful information for people with epilepsy and health providers.ConclusionThese recommendations may help health care professionals provide optimal care to people with epilepsy during the coronavirus pandemic.

Introduction The increase in the migrant population in Spain has transformed the cultural profile of public health care users. The purpose of this study is to recognize the subtle and blatant prejudices nursing students have toward migrant patients. Method An ex post facto descriptive study, using a transversal design ( N = 1,393). Results Males showed a higher degree of prejudice ( p < .05). Students in their first year have more subtle prejudices than those in their fourth year ( p < .005). Blatant prejudice increases from the first year to the fourth year of the degree program ( p < .05). Regarding context, there were differences found between subtle and blatant prejudice (both, p < .05), as students in areas with high migratory pressure showed more prejudiced attitudes toward migrant patients. Discussion Students display subtle prejudices, which is why education in culturally congruent health care must be integrated across all levels of nursing education, with the objective of diminishing prejudice against the migrant population.

Despite being competent in the English language, pre-service teachers struggle a lot when it comes to public speaking. Their ability to deliver and speak competently is hindered by speaking anxiety. The purpose of this study is to determine the causes of speaking anxiety among pre-service teachers and identify how pre-service teachers cope up with speaking anxiety. This study was administered to 7 pre-service teachers using a convenience sampling technique from a reputable public state university in Southern Philippines. The findings showed that speaking anxiety among pre-service teachers is caused by the fear of committing mistakes, having high expectations from the audience, nervousness, and lack of preparation. Additionally, the techniques used by pre-service teachers to cope up with speaking anxiety include preparing an outline, practicing before the actual speech, and boosting one’s self-confidence. Research revealed that speaking anxiety can be eased by employing techniques such as exposure to speaking engagements, preparation, and believing in oneself.

<p><em>Health care quality is one of the factor that determines the citizens’ standard of living. However, the development of Depok City as a supporting city of Jakarta is not followed by the development of health care facilities because to this day, Depok still has a shortage of hospital facilities. The hospital needed by Depok City must be able to accommodate high patient loads, capable of serving 10 major illness Depok City residents had, and it’s a green hospital in accordance with the direction of the Directorate General of Health and Community Development Efforts Republic of Indonesia. Green hospitals are hospitals that utilize the potential of nature, reducing the negative impact of the hospital to the environment, and inventing a good quality healing environtment in hospitals. The concept of green hospitals is achieved through the implementation of elements of the green hospital concept in the design process of this hospital which is; a suitable location, selection of materials that are environmentally friendly, water conservation in hospitals, waste treatment in an integrated manner, utilization of alternative energy, energy efficiency in hospitals, increasing service performance and efficiency, as well as the embodiment of healing environtment in a hospital to speed up patient recovery. In addition to the implementation of the element of green hospital concept, the hospital is also implementing hospital design standards that apply in Indonesia. The hospital is expected to be one of the first hospital in Indonesia to implement the concept of green hospital holistically.</em></p>
