High unemployment rate, especially from SMK graduates, and the lack of entrepreneurship in Indonesia have prompted many parties to find out solutions. It is very important in fostering graduates who are ready to become entrepreneurs. The research aimed to investigate the influence of need for achievement, locus of control and attitudes toward entrepreneurial intentions of students of SMK Negeri 1 Batang Hari. Data analysis method used path analysis in which multiple regression models were tested with classical assumptions to determine the appropriate analysis model. The classical assumption test includes: normality test using the one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, homoscedasticity test using the Spearman’s Rho test, and linearity test using the lack of fit test and the multicollinearity test. With a sample of 175 class-XI students of all majors at SMKN 1 Batang Hari, the result shows that there is an influence of need for achievement, locus of control and attitudes toward students’ entrepreneurial intention at SMK Negeri 1 Batang Hari.

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the factors that influence entrepreneurial intentions among college student. The five independent variables was used include need for achievement, locus of control, self-efficacy, instrumental readiness, entrepreneurship experience. Sample in this research is students on Pattimura University totaling 160 people. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to measure this study. The results of this study indicate that need for achievement, locus of control, entrepreneurship experience have no effect on the intentions of entrepreneurial among students. Whereas instrumental readiness and self-efficacy variable has positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention between students of Pattimura University. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the influence of Entrepreneurship Education, Internal Locus of Control, the Necessity of Achievement, Creativity, Gender and Family Against intention Entrepreneurship. Samples are accounting majors followed the entrepreneurship education by 100 respondents with purposive sampling technique. The analytical tool used is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis is linear regression with significant test F and t. Results of the analysis states that (1) jointly entrepreneurship education, inernal locus of control, need for achievement, creativity, gender, the family has a significant influence on intense entrepreneurship, (2) more often followed the entrepreneurship education for students entrepreneurial intentions Polytechnic Malang higher, (3) The higher the ability to control internal locus of control intention of entrepreneurship for students Polytechnic of Malang higher, (4) higher need for achievement, the intentions of entrepreneurship for students of the higher Polytechnic of Malang, (5) Higher creativity, entrepreneurial intentions for students of the higher Polytechnic of Malang, (6) Men have influence entrepreneurial intentions for students Polytechnic of Malang higher than women, (7) The higher the entrepreneurial intention MKA family support for students Polytechnic of Malang will be higher.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between individual psychological characteristics (i.e. innovativeness, locus of control, self-confidence, propensity to take risk, need for achievement and tolerance for ambiguity) and entrepreneurial intention. Design/methodology/approach A total of 676 undergraduate students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) have participated in the survey. The data were analysed using partial least square technique version 2.0. Findings The results have shown that innovativeness, self-confidence, propensity to take risk, need for achievement and tolerance for ambiguity are positively related to entrepreneurial intention among undergraduate students. However, locus of control is not significantly related to entrepreneurial intention. Research limitations/implications Although samples of the research are quite large, this research only involves undergraduates in UMS. Therefore, findings obtained are not generalized because the results do not include other educational institutions in Malaysia. On the implication aspect, this research might give some views among undergraduates to embark in business after graduating. Practical implications In spite of that, students should be encouraged and equipped with innovativeness, self-confidence, propensity to take risk, need for achievement and tolerance for ambiguity to interpret successful entrepreneurial role models and identification of business prospects for their future career. Originality/value The findings of the research may extend existing knowledge in the entrepreneurial field as well as to provide valuable information to policy maker in strengthening and redesigning suitable curriculum not only at the university level, but also in pre-school by giving entrepreneurial awareness on how this knowledge will transform us into an entrepreneurial society that can create wonders for human kind.

Abstrak: Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Berpengaruh pada Minat Berwirausaha Mahasiswa. Salah satu alternatif untuk memecahkan masalah pengangguran adalah dengan memberdayakan kelompok terdidik melalui program kewirausahaan di perguruan tinggi yang diharapkan mampu berkontribusi dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja sehingga mengurangi pengangguran dan beban negara. Penelitian ini menguji model yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh internal locus of control, social support dan need for achievement terhadap minat berwirausaha pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori penelitian cross-sectional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh internal locus of control dan social support pada minat berwirausaha mahasiswa, terdapat pengaruh internal locus of control terhadap need for achievement mahasiswa, tidak terdapat pengaruh social support pada need for achievement dan yang terakhir terdapat pengaruh need for achievement terhadap minat berwirausaha mahasiswa. Kata kunci: internal locus of control, social support, need for achievement, entrepreneurial intention Abstract: The Factors Affecting the Entrepreneurial Intention of College Students. The alternative to solve an unemployment problem is to empower the educated person through entrepreneurship programs at colleges that are expected to contribute to employment, thereby reducing unemployment and the burden on the state. This study tested a model that aims to determine the influence of internal locus of control, social support and the need for achievement against in entrepreneurial intention of the student. This study was a cross-sectional. The results show a significant relationship between internal locus of control and social support to the entrepreneurial intention of students. There is a significant relationship between internal locus of control and the need for achievement of students. There is an insignificant relationship between social support and the need for achievement and the last there is a significant relationship between need for achievement and entrepreneurial intention of students. Keywords: internal locus of control, social support, need for achievement, entrepreneurial intention

Unemployment is a significant problem considered in many emerging economies. The joblessness mishap, especially in massive youth populace countries like China and Pakistan, which recently facing challenging situations in job creation. The youths are key players to create a vital role in the devotion to self-employment, to achieve financial independence and benefits to the economy. Entrepreneurship is a genuine alternative to escalation living standard among masses. In essential prospective entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector to be equipped, especially for faculty students to solve the problem of unemployment from rural graduates. The purpose of this research study to evaluate personality traits influence on entrepreneurial intentions among agricultural graduates profession choice in agriculture as a self-employment avenue to become an entrepreneur in the future. To this study, primary survey methodology used on a voluntary based participant’s sample, consisting of 640 graduate students. The data collected from Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Pakistan and Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) China. This study employed entrepreneurial intention, dependent variable on alertness, creativity, locus of control, risk-taking propensity, and need for achievement, with set control variables. Accumulated data analyzed by using multiple coefficient regressions analysis descriptive statistics and independent t-Tests. Conferring to results, overall reliability 0.86 found a significant favorable influence of entrepreneurial intentions among graduates. Higher entrepreneurial alertness, intense creativity, moderate propensity to take the risk, more significant locus of control and superior need for achievement, compared with individuals who do not possess such intentions between male and female of China and Pakistan students towards agriculture

This study aims to test the application of e-learning using edmodo media in learning physics based on character values to improve student learning outcomes in work and energy materials. This type of research is an experiment, using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design design. The instrument used in this study was a pretest and posttest questions consisting of 12 question numbers to test the improvement of student learning outcomes using e-learning using edmodo media. The pretest value data normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test resulted in 0.035, and for the posttest value obtained 0.457. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes with an average gain value of 0.82 which is included in the high criteria. The results of the data hypothesis analysis were obtained from the pretest and posttest values based on the output "statistical test" known to Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) is 0.00. (0.05). Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes by using e-learning using edmodo media in physics learning based on character values on business and energy materials.

PurposeThe intent to start an entrepreneurial venture is predisposed by certain personality traits. The study aims to analyze the impact of various identified personality traits and entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intentions of management students.Design/methodology/approachThe data for the study were gathered from 440 students of top 5 management institutes in India. The study used a cross-sectional design and structured questionnaire based on seven-point Likert scale and was administered employing a purposive sampling method. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was utilized to validate posited hypotheses in the study.FindingsThe study discerns that apart from agreeableness dimension of personality traits, all remaining identified dimensions along with entrepreneurial education had a significant influence on entrepreneurial intentions of management students with need for achievement emerging as the most important enabler. Conscientiousness was the major dimension among big five personality traits bearing a positive influence, while neuroticism registered a negative impact on entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, results bespeak that entrepreneurial education partially mediates the effect of need for achievement, locus of control and innovativeness on entrepreneurial intentions.Research limitations/implicationsThe compendious model proffered in the study might be helpful for students, educators, consultants, financial institutions and policymakers in appreciating the gravity of underlying personality traits.Originality/valueThere is a dearth of research on big five personality traits and entrepreneurial education as enablers of entrepreneurial intentions. The study attempts to integrate big five personality traits model with dimensions of need for achievement, locus of control, innovativeness and entrepreneurial education for management students in India.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of locus of control (internal and external) on entrepreneurial intention of final year undergraduate students in Ghana.Design/methodology/approachThe study adopts descriptive and cross-sectional survey designs. It also employs quantitative approach to collect the data from 300 final year undergraduate students in selected universities in Ghana. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation and hierarchical regression techniques.FindingsThe results reveal that there is a positive relationship between locus of control (both internal and external) and entrepreneurial intention. However, it is found that external locus of control has more influence on entrepreneurial intention compared to internal locus of control. In addition, gender has no controlling effect on the relationship between locus of control and entrepreneurial intention.Practical implicationsThe findings imply that entrepreneurial course contents should include topics on locus of control that will expose the students to the reality of their environments so as to learn how to take control and create opportunities out of their environments. Again, students should be encouraged and educated on how to build up personality traits such as the need for achievement, innovativeness and risk-taking, since these traits have direct impact on their locus of control which in turn impacts on their entrepreneurial intentions.Originality/valueThis study contributes to entrepreneurship literature by investigating determinants of entrepreneurial intention from a different perspective, and reveals that individuals (regardless of their gender) with external locus of control are more likely to become entrepreneurs in a developing economy.

As to contribute to the literature on entrepreneurial intention, a survey was conducted on a sample of Croatian students and their entrepreneurial intentions, by using Ajzen's (1991) theory of planned behaviour. This theory determines intention through attitudes, behavioural control (self-efficacy), and social norms. Additional four determinants were investigated: role models, education, needs for achievement, and propensity towards risk. We propose that individuals exposed to role models and entrepreneurial education, as well as those who have a higher level of need for achievement and propensity towards risk, are more likely to set up a venture. The survey was conducted at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, University of Split, Croatia and the obtained data were analysed by using the structural equation modelling technique. A total of 160 survey responses from students were obtained. It was found that attitudes and propensity towards risk positively affect entrepreneurial intention. Surprisingly, self-efficacy and social norms, in addition to role models, education, and the need for achievement, failed to produce a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention.

The entrepreneurial intentions of individuals play a phenomenal role in establishment of new ventures, which in turn facilitates economic development. The study aims to identify the various dimensions of personality traits along with several other precursors of entrepreneurial intentions and investigates impact of the identified factors on entrepreneurial intentions of top five university students in India. The data for research were collected through a structured questionnaire employing a 7-point Likert scale based on purposive sampling technique. The identified constructs considered to be determinants of entrepreneurial intentions were need for achievement, locus of control, risk-taking propensity, innovativeness, self-efficacy, proactiveness, perseverance, entrepreneurial alertness and entrepreneurial attitude. The findings of the study reveal that ‘need for achievement’ was the most significant precursor of entrepreneurial intentions; whereas, ‘entrepreneurial alertness’ and ‘entrepreneurial attitude’ dimensions of personality traits were also found to have a positive correlation with entrepreneurial intentions of university students. Moreover, entrepreneurial alertness partially mediates the relationship between self-efficacy and proactiveness on the one hand and entrepreneurial intentions on the other.
