The article features the phenomenon of electronic literary text. The research objective was to identify the structural and semantic features of electronic literary texts within the framework of post-structuralism. The electronic literary text resulted not only from the development of information technology: it is also the product of the development of philosophical and linguistics ideas of post-structuralism. The post-structuralism perspective was not repeated exactly on the technological level of the electronic text representation. However, the post-structuralist text theory was reflected in the electronic literary text structure, i.e. its rhizomatic, decentered, fragmentary, intertextual, and simulation character. In particular, the attempt to build cohesion of semiotically diverse components in the electronic environment reflects the post-structuralists idea of chaos and disorganization. The attempt to provide the navigation in this multi-component unity by the key-word hyperlinks reflects the idea of the total interconnectivity of all structural components, i.e. intertextuality. The phenomenon of intertextuality defines the culmination of decenterment and nomadism in the text theory. It is connected with the rhizomatic concept and hypertextuality. The research used electronic literary texts based on Adobe Flash and HTML. The research employed general scientific methods, such as monitoring and description, in conjunction with the method of comparative linguistic analysis. The author concludes that the text perception and electronic virtual world immersion become much more important than the artifacts in the electronic literature of XXI century. The electronic literary text became the poststructuralist concept of the new esthetic object, lost its integrity and composition stability, and opened itself to external input.

The article deals with the cohesion specifity in electronic literary texts, which results from dual (verbal and non-verbal) structure of  electronic literary text. The research materials include several  electronic texts (based on different platforms and technologies such  as Adobe Flash, Scalar, HTML 5) that demonstrate the use of conceptually valid poly-code elements in their semantic structure.  The main methods of the research are general scientific methods,  such as monitoring and description in conjunction with the method of comparative analysis and complex linguistic and stylistic analysis of  literary text. As a result, the author concludes that the electronic  literary text cohesion on semantic level is represented in structural,  identical and indexing aspects. All of them are provided by verbal  and nonverbal elements of the electronic literary text. The semantic  unraveling of this or that main topic of the electronic literary text is  provided by the mental combination of verbal and visual elements in  recipient’s mind during the electronic text perception process. In this  case the poly-code paralinguistic elements enhance semantic resources of electronic literary text and emphasize its visibility.

The rapidly growing trend of information visualization in the modern communication space determines the relevance of this research, which is based on the analysis of the electronic literary text non-verbal components and their visual and graphic design. The purpose of the article is to identify the main methods of verbal components of graphic selection in electronic literary texts and their functional analysis. The material is represented by electronic literary texts based on Adobe Flash and HTML. The main methods of the research are general scientific methods such as monitoring and description in conjunction with the method of comparative linguistic analysis. The types of graphic highlighting that are traditionally used in written/printed text are also reflected in electronic literary texts. They include: 1. Graphic text segmentation; 2. Kerning (increasing the interval between letters); 3. Line spacing; 4. Font variation (changes in font type and color); 5. Capitalization (using uppercase letters instead of lowercase); 6. Italics, underscores, optional quotation marks (and various combinations of these techniques); 7. Inclusion of other sign systems elements (Latin/ Cyrillic/ Runic letters, numbers, encoding elements and etc.). As a result, the author concludes that techniques for verbal components graphic selection in electronic literary texts have several areas of functional load. Paragraph-based tools intensify the implementation of emotional and symbolic functions associated with the impact on the emotional background of the electronic literary text perception and the expression of its concepts.

Objective. The purpose of the article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the ways of transmitting the characters’ internal speech (internal direct speech and non-proper direct speech) in a psycholinguistic projection. Materials & Methods. During the research we used general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, observation, description, classification, definitive analysis), linguistic and psycholinguistic methods (the methods of structural-semantic, component and opposition analysis, the method of dialogical interpretation of the text). Stepan Protsyuk’s psychologically biographical trilogy about Ukrainian writers – Vasyl Stefanyk («The rose of ritual pain»), Arkhyp Teslenko («Black Apple») and Volodymyr Vynnychenko («Masks fall slowly») served as material for research. Results. The multiplicity and multi-sectoral focus of the notion of «internal speech» from the standpoint of psychology, psycholinguistics, philosophy, literary criticism and linguistics are determined. An integrated approach to understanding the essence of internal speech is based on its dialogicality, virtual communicativeness, self-communicativeness and interdependence of language and speech. The qualification characteristics of the internal direct speech and non-proper direct speech are outlined, their structural and semantic varieties are described. The internal speech of the characters appears not only for reproduction of the monologic reflections of the character, but also as a form of inner, veiled talk of characters among themselves. With this in mind, two forms of representation of the internal direct speech are singled out: monologic and dialogic. The non-proper direct speech is differentiated into two varieties depending on stylistic reference points and the degree of approaching the direct speech: «literary» («author’s») and «character’s» («personal»). The functional-stylistic potential of ways of transferring the internal speech in the idiostyle of Stepan Protsiuk is revealed. Conclusions. It is concluded that the ways of transmitting of internal speech (internal direct speech and non-proper direct speech) widely used in the psychologically biographical novels of Stepan Protsiuk provide additional linguistic material for creating of psychological portraits of heroes and contribute to the artistic solution of the tension between the author’s speech and hero’s speech. Moreover, they help to adjust the interactions in their dialogue, reduce the distance between the narrator and the hero, the hero and the reader.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the structural and semantic features of metaphor in the Olga Kobylyanska’s artistic discourse. The relevance of the article is determined by the need of further in-depth study of Olga Kobylyanskaya idiostyle in order to form a cognitive-pragmatic conception of the writer's artistic discourse.  The novelty of scientific work is due to the fact that the cognitive nature of metaphor in the language of the O. Kobylyanska’s works is studied for the first time. Research methods. In the article as the main general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis are used, as well as linguistic – descriptive, structural and comparative and historical methods. Conclusions. Olga Kobylyanska's artistic discourse is characterized by the convergence of linguistic means, in particular, her works are full of metaphors of different nature. We recorded one-word and multi-words metaphors. One-word metaphors are dominated by addresses. In multi-words metaphors the semantic load falls on one of the components of the syntactic construction. Many metaphors describe the mental state of human. Often the metaphor is complemented by comparison, inversion, oxymoron etc. In creating of metaphorical constructions the writer uses the following images: soul, heart (to convey the psycho-emotional state of the characters), bread (to denote the property status), lilies (means pure girl’s love), dirty spot (to denote difficult memories), the sun in souls (to depict joyful events). Metaphors contain a number of verbs used figuratively. We distinguish metaphors formed on the basis of interparadigmatic transferred meanings, which come from the artistic (sculpture), musical, theatrical, sacred, financial spheres.

The article deals with the study of translation multiplicity as a linguistic phenomenon, which is extremely relevant because the writer’s idiolect forms the uniqueness of the literary text, and this uniqueness should not be lost when translating the text into another language, especially if the text is retranslated at different times. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze variants of translation of linguocultural units in translations of Ivan Franko's novel “Zakhar Berkut”.Methods. General scientific methods were used in the research, namely: theoretical – contextual and interpretive analysis, and empirical, in particular descriptive, due to the purpose of the study.Results. The phenomenon of translation multiplicity, which has been studied in translation studies for more than thirty years, is considered. It is noted that the first translations are naturalized, i.e. get under domestication, while retranslations get under foreignization, as the first translation aims to present the original text of new culture that is potentially reluctant to accept foreign text in the adapted form for gradual integration into it, while a re-translation demonstrates certain level of assimilation. Some scientists do not consider these postulates to be proven, so they put forward other theories about the phenomenon of translational multiplicity. Given the research of linguoculturologists, each language operates a certain system of culture units that characterize the uniqueness and difference of language from other ethnocultures, and based on this thesis, the linguocultural units in Ivan Franko’s novel “Zakhar Berkut” as well as variants of their translation into English have been analyzed and described.Conclusions. Linguocultural units transmit ethnoculture, they contain certain culturally important information encoded in lexical units. Understanding the national and cultural content of linguocultural unit acquires additional meaning when comparing translations, which is clearly demonstrated in the comparative analysis of two variants of I. Franko's novel translation. It is appropriate selection of linguistic equivalents of another language that allows complete reproduction of translated text, and the reader will perceive it as a unique, inimitable phenomenon, and the success of such a translation should be facilitated by the studies of the translation multiplicity.

The article is devoted to the study of the Hungarian section of the Chuvash studies. The aim of the work is to familiarize the scientific community with new Hungarian scientists. The author uses traditional descriptive and analytical methods practiced in scholarship. The Hungarian section is the most developed area of foreign Chuvash studies. It is due to the linguistic contacts of the Turkic languages of the Chuvash type with Hungarian, which took place in the period before the conquering of homeland by the Hungarians. Currently, Hungarian Chuvash studies are mainly represented by linguistic and musicological trends. There are works of a historical and literary plan. One of the representatives of modern scholars of the Chuvash language in Hungary is M. Takács, who asserted herself by direct translations of the works of the Chuvash fiction into Hungarian, mainly the stories of E. Lisina. She also published scholarly works based on personal experience and devoted to the problems of translation and linguistics of a literary text. Thus, a distinctive feature of M. Takács’s Chuvash studies at the moment is a departure from the problems recognized as traditional for the Hungarian Chuvash studies – language contacts. Another direction of M. Takács’s research is the study of nouns published in the book «Works related to the grammar of the Chuvash language» of 1769. Another direction of M. Takács is the study of the problems of «Works belonging to the grammar of the Chuvash language» 1769. The author comes to the conclusion that the scientific developments of M. Takac in Hungarian Chuvash studies develop the traditions of studying the literary texts of Chuvash authors in linguistic and translation aspects.
