The present research featured competitive strategy aimed at achieving different goals in professional activity of employees with different intensity of perfectionism. It resulted in a definition of perfectionism based on the role of personality orientation in competitiveness, the subject content of personality orientation, and available publications on the subject content of perfectionism, its types, and their relationship. The type of perfectionism depends on personal characteristics that manifest themselves in competitive environment. Therefore, perfectionist orientation shapes completive strategy in employees. The research involved 142 employees (112 women, 30 men) aged 19–62. The procedure for identifying various types of perfectionist orientation combined the type of perfectionism, achievement motivation, and cognitive attitudes. The paper also introduces criteria for distinguishing self-oriented and socially-oriented perfectionism. The main goal of competition strategy in subjects with self-oriented perfectionism was formulated as demonstration of individual work pattern, while in subjects with sociallyoriented perfectionism it was high quality of activity. The first appeared to be fuelled by the internal motivation and dependence on others. However, criticism and disapproval can affect the desire to achieve the goal. The second was fuelled by security reasons and resulted in actions aimed at retaining the achieved advantages. Both groups hardly saw colleagues as rivals.

The presented analysis focuses on the moral dimension of the teaching profession, which encompasses the moral competence of its representatives. This dimension determines, at least to some extent, the quality of services rendered by teachers to other people as part of their professional activity. Thus, the research and analyses undertaken with regard to this area of scientific exploration are of importance for the discipline of educational research. The aim of the paper is an attempt at making an introduction to the manners of understanding the term: teacher’s moral competences. Such competences can be placed among a number of competencies a teacher should display. The article was prepared based on an analysis of the literature dealing with the subject of the research. The analysis was used to explicate the category, which, similarly to the category of competencies as such, has turned out to be defined in an ambiguous way. The researchers of the issue of teachers’ moral competences have ascribed various meanings and scope to this term, and have differed in indicating its significance and importance for the professional activity undertaken. This is conducive neither to an attempt at developing a clear definition of this term nor to defining its constituent elements more precisely. The analysis of this category implies the need for paying closer attention to teachers’ moral competences, both in the theoretical and practical contexts, and to conduct intensified research on these competences, enriching thereby the scientific achievements made so far in the field referring to the moral dimension of the work performed by the representatives of this social and professional category, i.e., teachers.

The article presents the results of a study devoted to the content of the competitive strategy of employed workers with different intensity of their perfectionistic orientation. The subject of the study was 142 employed workers (112 women, 30 men). Methodological tools: methods for diagnosing perfectionism, irrational attitudes, achievement motivation, work motivation, behavioral tendencies in a group, ideas about oneself as a subject of competition and a competitor; questionnaires for assessing the importance of competition goals for the implementation of a successful competition strategy, identifying ways to achieve leading goals and determining the leading competitor and competition motives. Statistical analysis of the results was conducted by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality criterion, multiple linear regression analysis; binomial criterion, quartile procedure; r-Spearman rank correlation coefficient, Friedman and Wilcoxon criteria. The perfectionistic orientation is considered as a complex of motives and attitudes of the individual, which are steadily manifested in various types of activity in conscious striving for perfection based on high demands for others, perceived from others, as well as on the person itself, which can provide advantages in achieving competitive goals. The findings allowed us to describe two groups of employed workers – one with a highly expressed (HPN) and the other with a low-expressed (LPN) perfectionistic orientation, as well as the uniqueness of the content of their competition strategy, its leading goals («leadership» and «superior appointment») and the content of the components of the strategies towards its achievement. It was found that the achievement of the goal «leadership» in subjects with HPN is supported by the desire for self-actualization and concentration on the client as the main competitor, and in subjects with LPN it is supprted by a positive assessment of their actions by others, the desire to belong to a group and the use of new technologies and innovative ways of work performance. In an effort to achieve a «superior appointment», subjects with HPSs are guided by the desire to compete with the majority of colleagues and show it in the form of a willingness to fight and independence from others, while subjects with LPN direct their strategy of competition to colleagues within the company, seeking to gain their recognition, and carry it out with the help of actions to maintain professional activity at the consistent level, as well as sociability and avoidance of conflicts. The obtained results broaden the understanding of the competitive strategy of employed workers with different intensity of perfectionistic orientation.

The article presents the results of a study devoted to the establishment of the strategy of competition for achieving various goals in professional activity among working subjects with perfectionistic orientation towards others. The subject of the research is the strategy of competition devoted to the leading goals of subjects with different intensity of the perfectionistic orientation of the personality; the object is the perfectionistic orientation of the working subjects. The subject of the study was 142 employed workers (112 women, 30 men). The perfectionistic orientation is considered as a complex of motives and attitudes of the individual, which are steadily manifested in various types of activity in conscious striving for perfection based on high demands for others, perceived from others, as well as on the person itself, which can provide advantages in achieving competitive goals. It was found that of the strategy of competition of working subjects with perfectionistic orientation towards others include: social goals ("leadership", "higher job position", "praise and support of colleagues"), goals, associated with professional activity ("stability of work performance", "high quality of work performance") and themselves as subjects of the professional activity ("demonstration of an individual style of work performance"). Than the content of the components of the competition strategy to achieve them was established. Competition strategies for achieving the goals of "praise and support of colleagues", "demonstration of an individual style of work performance", "stability of work performance" are insufficiently formed, since they are supported by the content of only one component of the competition strategy or are characterized by the negative influence of the content of all its components. Competition strategies devoted to the goals of "leadership", "higher job position" and "high quality of work performance" are more stable and formed due to their reinforcement by the content of all components of their competition strategy. The data obtained by the authors on the content of competition strategies to achieve these goals allow us to detect motives, behavioral attitudes and actions towards competitors, as well as ideas about them that can ensure the success of subjects with high demands on others in activities related to teamwork. The novelty of the work lies in the study of the achievement of various goals of competition in their complex conditionality by the content of each of the components of the competition strategy of subjects with a perfectionist orientation, focused on others.

At the same time, related concepts (for example, communicative activity, pedagogical communication, communicative competence, culture of communication, etc.) were studied in detail. Freedom in determining the components of the structure of the phenomenon of communicative culture, we explain the artificiality of ideas about it in the mind of the researcher as a consequence of transposition (a variant of the result of generalization).

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the role of decision rules and agency in supporting project initiation decisions, and the influences of agency on decision-making effectiveness. Design/methodology/approach – The study this paper is based upon used grounded theory methodology, and sought to understand the influences of individual decision makers on project initiation decisions within organizations. Data collection involved 28 participants who were involved in project initiation decisions within their organizations, who discussed the process of project initiation in their organization and their role within that process. Findings – The study demonstrates that the overall effectiveness of project initiation decisions is a product of agency, process effectiveness or rule effectiveness. The employment of agency can have a direct influence on decision-making effectiveness, it can compensate for organizational inadequacies of a process or political nature, and it can be constrained in the evidence of formal and effective organizational practices. Research limitations/implications – While agency was recognized by all participants, there are clearly circumstances where actors perceive the ability to exercise agency to be externally constrained. The study is exploratory, contributing to the development of substantive theory. Theory testing as well as a more in-depth investigation of the underlying drivers of agency would be valuable. Practical implications – The study provides executives and individuals supporting the initiation of projects with insights on how to effectively influence the effectiveness of project initiation decisions, and the degree to which personal characteristics influence organizational dynamics. Originality/value – Most discussions of agency has been framed the subject as an executive- or board-level phenomenon. The current study demonstrates that agency is in fact being perceived and operationalized at all levels. Those demonstrating agency in the majority of instances in this study do so in exercising stewardship behaviours. This has important implications for how agency is perceived by executives, and by how agency is exercised by actors at all levels of the organization.

The article is devoted to one of the problems of foreign language education – the definition of the role of interpretation in preparing students of special (language) directions to participate in the dialogue of cultures. Interpretation is considered as a phenomenon and as a way of comprehending reality, which allows the subjects of the dialogue of cultures to reach mutual understanding. The main characteristic of interpretation, which is necessary for the purposes of foreign language education, is its psychological character. It is determined by the psychology of the author, the psychology of the work, as well as the psychology of the reader-interpreter. It is proved that the interpretation of a work of art, which has universal, historical and personal plans, has huge epistemological and axiological possibilities. They activate the entire educational potential of interperetation (educational, developmental, cognitive, and educational). Russian Russian poet A. A. Fet (1820–1892) uses the poem “Wir saßen am Fischerhaus” by the famous German poet and publicist Heinrich Hein (1797–1856) and the translation of this poem into Russian to illustrate the interpretation technology. The poem is considered as a space of personal meanings of the author. They are the ones that are subject to interpretation and bring the reader-interpreter back from the poet's world to the modern real world. And the real world is full of unexpected cultural facts, closely related to the content of the work of G. Heine, with distant Lapland and the life of modern lapps. Thus, interpretation is presented as an educational strategy. Together with the strategies of contextualization, philologization and argumentation, it ensures the achievement of the main goal of foreign language education – the creation of an individual who can act as a genuine subject of the dialogue of cultures. The article also emphasizes the importance of the teacher as the organizer of the educational process and the subject of the dialogue of cultures.
