Abstract At the present stage, the visualisation process covers all areas of life that come into contact with information and its presentation. Specialists and researchers in the relevant fields of activity are increasingly using the concepts that have been formed on the basis of printed text in the audio-visual arts. Such an example is the use of intertextuality, which is currently one of the promising areas for research on the example of audio and visual material (film, video, music, photography). The aim of the study was to identify the main current problems of the use of intertextuality in the audio-visual arts on the example of the two most common forms – film and music. The main methods used in this work are intertextual analysis, as well as discourse analysis, because for this method the area of interest is the study of discourse changes associated with intertextuality. As a result of the analysis, it was found that one of the problems of intertextuality is the uncertainty and lack of unity in its understanding between the followers of different approaches to the doctrine of intertext; several problems were identified. The authors propose solutions to the identified problems of the theory of intertextuality in the audio-visual arts, which confirms the practical significance of the study.

Literature on folk art of the Atlantic region, with few exceptions, would be nonexistent without the intervention of visual arts institutions and museums. The interest in folk art and folk art collecting by museums and galleries, and the institutions’ penchant for documentation, has generated a diversity of written and visual material on the subject, of both an historical and a contemporary nature, which unveils a regional portrait of artists and their work.

The artist and polymath Lambert Lombard of Liège developed a radical outlook on the theory and practice of artistic creation that he sought to illustrate in a ‘grammar’ of formal studies. Devised during a period of intense crisis for image-making in northern Europe, this ‘grammar’ offered a means to restore authority to the visual arts by recovering a canon of forms that had been perfected in antiquity yet became diluted over time. The present article examines the development and function of Lombard’s ‘grammar’, focusing on its role in the instruction he provided to a new generation of Netherlandish artists. It explores similarities between Lombard’s project and Aby Warburg’s celebrated Mnemosyne Atlas, compiled between 1924 and 1929. This comparison provides new insights into the visual, material and conceptual strategies through which Lombard’s ‘grammar’ illuminated the entwined properties of motion and emotion that he defined as the essence of perfect art.

The analysis of the mechanism of the formation of historical memory and pride in the ideas of young people at the present stage is in demand due to the fact that these social phenomena can help young people to a large extent realize their own involvement in the Motherland, in the fateful affairs of their ancestors, and are also focused on developing a sense of responsibility for the future. their state. Lacking knowledge and not having an idea of the experience of previous generations, it is not easy for people to maintain civic identity, adhere to and pass on traditions to future generations, foster spirituality and, in general, navigate society. The article outlines the relevance of the issue of preserving historical memory at the present stage, characterizes the relationship of scientific and practical aspects of the topic under consideration, provides an overview of authoritative publications on the issue under study. The author describes the state programs of the federal and regional levels, reflecting the directions of the patriotic education of the younger generation in the Russian Federation in general, and in the Yaroslavl region in particular. The practical significance of the work is substantiated by the results of a qualitative study, which fixes the peculiarities of perpetuating the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War in the ideas of young students, as well as their attitude to mass commemorative events during the Victory Day celebration. An analysis of the results of focus group discussions revealed ambivalent features of the preservation of historical memory in the ideas of modern youth: along with the awareness of the tragedy of individual memories of events during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, a component of understanding the heroism of events and the fate of Soviet people is also recorded.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as a communication platform is of great practical significance in the wireless communications field. This paper studies the activity scheduling of unmanned aerial vehicles acting as aerial base stations in an area of interest for a specific period. Specifically, competition among multiple UAVs is explored, and a game model for the competition is developed. The Nash equilibrium of the game model is then analyzed. Based on the analysis, an algorithm for Nash equilibrium computation is proposed. Then, a game model with fairness concern is established, and its equilibrium price is also analyzed. In addition, numerical examples are conducted to determine the factors that affect the strategies (price, quality of service, and beaconing duration) of the UAV and to show how the expected profits of UAVs change with that fairness concern point. The authors believe that this research paper will shed light on the application of UAV as a flying base station.

The notion of axiological dimension of texts of English court discourse is researched in the paper. The interdisciplinarity of scientific knowledge has expanded the problem field of the humanities themselves and has led to the need for a new philosophical approach to Language. Therefore, the mutual influence of philosophical disciplines and linguistic disciplines in contemporary humanities discourse is justified in this situation. The central concept of axiology is the concept of value, interpreted from the perspective of psychology, sociology, logic, structuralism, phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics, and theology. The interpretation of the concept, the attitude to value as a subjective or objective phenomenon, brings together and at the same time alienates the representatives of different sciences. The author deals separately with axiologemes in the discourse of the defense and prosecution and their role in the organisation of the semantic space of the English court discourse. Anti-axiologemes in the discourse of the defense and in the discourse of the prosecution have been identified. The relevance of the article is due to the dearth of research and lack in-depth analysis done on the subject in the context of constant confrontation in the modern information space. Confrontation can be observed at all levels and in all spheres of human life, including judicial activities. The research is carried out at the intersection of several scientific and linguistic paradigms: communicative, cognitive, pragmatic and linguocultural. The logic of the development of these directions of modern linguistic science determined the novelty of this study. In this article, the author in detail describes the process of formation of axiological science. The views of leading scientists dealing with axiology are carefully analysed. The main stages of axiological knowledge development are defined. Considerable attention is given to the applied nature of axiological research. The following goals have been set: to grasp the way of formation of modern axiology, to identify axiologemes and anti-axiologemes that are characteristic of the English court discourse; to characterise their influence on the organisation of the semantic space of texts of court discourse. The analysis of the factual material regarding axiologemes and antiaxiologemes of the English court discourse has resulted in identifying their role in the organisation of the semantic space of the court discourse. Mention should be made of the following methods that were used here to achieve the aim: linguistic observation and analysis, as well as cognitive method, critical discourse analysis method, pragmatic analysis method. Thus, axiologemes in English court discourse are based on fundamental American values. They are represented by such thematic groups as The value of human life, Civic virtues, American dream, Equality of all before Law and The rule of Law. As well as legal axiologemes: Proving beyond a reasonable doubt, Difficult life situation, Tragedy. Anti-axiologemes in English court discourse are represented by the following thematic groups: Murder, Vicious lifestyle, Double life, Interest in serial killers, and Addictions. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility to use its provisions and conclusions, factual material in the study of communicativistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, in the practice of translation, linguistics and area studies, in the course of legal writing, oratory art. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the fact that a comparative review of axiologemes and anti-axiologemes used in the discourse of the prosecution and in the discourse of the defense has beenf first introduced.

The subject of the study is the interpretation of the folklore image of an outstanding Cossack character in the historical novel at the turn of the XX–XXI centuries. The appeal of this genre at the present stage to fictional sources and techniques, including myth, parables, fairy tales, fiction, games, compilations, violations of space-time linearity, etc., is a problematic field of wider research. The aim of the article is to determine functioning peculiarities of outstanding Cossack’s image in the artistic world of novel “Chase” by Y. Mushketyk. Results of the Study allowed to claim that in his novel “Chase” (1997) Y. Mushketyk modelled history in accordance to the modern tradition. The artist took the historical era of the Ruins as the basis of his story and led further narration on the principle of road, no wonder that at first sight the novel can be taken as an adventure novel. Pointing out the heredity of generations of outstanding Cossacks, the author prepares readers for perception of the hero, whose unusual abilities he reveals diversely throughout the work. Depicting a colorful portrait of Cossack Semen Belokobylka like a chimerical appearance of Cossack Mamai, Y. Mushketyk gives the novel “Chase” signs of a chimerical genre. According to the genre of road novel Y. Mushketyk reveals unusual abilities of the Cossack in lots of episodes of his journey. With the help of first person singular narration (“I-narration”), the artist transfers his feelings and emotions in extremely difficult conditions. Y. Mushketik gives the Cossack a good sense of humor as a part of his lifestyle. Liveliness gives the Cossack the power to continue the journey and complete the mission to rescue his brethren. In the reflections of outstanding Cossack, the author expresses the idea of the unity of Ukraine and Ukrainians, touches the problem of sense of living, giving the novel features of philosophical genre, significance and relevance of the present. The practical significance of the research results is the ability to form a model for the transformation of the folklore image into a literary one, extending the material of the study to other works of this genre and period.

The implementation of the magnetically levitated train’s (MLT) levitation force (LF) occurs during the interaction between fields of superconductor train (STC) and short-circuited track contours (SCTC), which are the elements of levitation module (LM). Purpose. Based on above, the purpose of this study is to obtain a correct description of such interaction. At the present stage, the main and the most universal tool for the analysis and synthesis of processes and systems is their mathematical and, in particular, computer modeling. At the same time, the radical advantages of this tool make even more important the precision of choosing a specific methodology for research conducting. Methodology. This is particularly relevant in relation to such large and complex systems as MLT. For this reason, the work pays special attention to the reasoned choice of the selective features of the research paradigm. The analysis of existing versions of LF implementation’s models show that each of them, along with the advantages, also has significant drawbacks. Results. In this regard, one of the main result of the study should be the construction of this force implementation’s mathematical model, which preserves the advantages of the mentioned versions, but would be free from their shortcomings. The rationality of application, for the train’s LF researching, of an integrative holistic paradigm, which assimilates the advantages of the electric circuit and magnetic field theories, is reasonably justified in work. The scientific novelty of the research. The priority of creation of such a paradigm and the corresponding version of the implementation of LF’s model account for the novelty of the research. Practical significance of the work. The practical significance consists in the possibility, in case of using its results, of significantly increasing the efficiency of dynamic MLT research while reducing their resource costs.
