Introduction: The consequence of good diabetic treatment depends on the patient's commitment to a large degree. Noncompliance leads to inadequacy of metabolic control, which strengthens the advancement and speeds up diabetic complications. The study's main goal was to assess the treatment noncompliance level among patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Bangladesh. Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Medical Center Hospital, Chattogram, Bangladesh. The study included two hundred and fifty-nine patients with T2DM. Data regarding sociodemographic factors, patients characteristics, medication factors, physician-related factors, and noncompliance were collected using a pretested and structured questionnaire. Treatment adherence was assessed by Morisky Medication Adherence Scales (MMAS-8). Data analyses were conducted on SPSS v23.0 Software. Results: The majority of the participants (56%) were in the 40-45 years of age group, followed by 32% in the older age group (>/=60 years), and 62.5% of them were male. One hundred and sixty eight (64.86%) patients were considered low adherent as per the response of the MMAS-8 scale (score <6), followed by 57 (22.0%) patients were regarded as high adherent (score 8) and 34 (13.13%) patients were considered medium adherent (score 6-7) to treatment. Observing the frequency distribution for noncompliance, financial concerns (32.3 %), forgetfulness (27.7%), a busy daily schedule (17.7%), and fear of antihyperglycemic drug side effects were all identified as significant explanations. On multivariate analysis, participants aged 60 years or more, monthly family incomes of <30,000BDT or 30,000 to 50,000 BDT, smoking, and uncontrolled glycemic status showed higher chances of noncompliance than their counterparts. Conclusion: Patient counseling and awareness programs may enhance treatment adherence among people with T2DM. Our findings will help physicians and public health workers to develop targeted strategies to increase awareness of the same among their patients.

Background: Stroke is the second leading cause of death in Brazil and can lead to significant losses that impact patients’ quality of life and the Brazilian Health System. Objectives: To evaluate the epidemiological profile (EP) in 5 years (2015- 2019) of patients hospitalized for stroke in the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Methods: Cross-sectional study on stroke data in Brazil, from January 2015 to December 2019, collected from SIH/DATASUS, based on the analysis of hospital admission authorizations (HAA), related to gender, age group (AG) and mortality rate (MR). Results: In this period, there were 768,181 HAA approved, 42.04% in the Southeast, followed by the Northeast, with 28.90%. In relation to the years of this period, 2015 had fewer hospitalizations (145,980) and 2019 had the highest number (163,247). In relation to AG, 70 to 79 years was the most affected (26.19%) of total hospitalizations in the period, followed by 60 to 69 years (24.97%). The majority of hospitalizations were male (52.10%). MR of the disease was also analyzed, which was 15.57% in Brazil in the period, being higher in North (18.38%) and lower in South (12.3%). Conclusion:Stroke significantly affected all Brazilian regions in the period. It is noteworthy that the regions with the lowest HDI (North and Northeast) had the highest MR due to the disease. The traced EP showed a higher prevalence in males and individuals aged 70 to 79 years, which is an important public health data.

Background: According to the international classification system ICD -10 (International Classification of Diseases), doctors speak of a mild depressive episode if at least two main symptoms such as depressed mood and lack of drive and two additional symptoms such as feelings of guilt and sleep disorders occur. In a moderately depressed phase, there are two main symptoms and at least three, but no more than four other symptoms. Major depressive episodes are diagnosed when all three main symptoms and at least four additional symptoms are present. In addition, the complaints must last for at least two weeks. In the American classification system DSMIV is referred to as "major depression" (corresponds to a severe depressive episode) and "minor depression" in the case of a less severe episode. Methods: This was an analytical cross-sectional study to spot light on the relationship between different chronic conditions and variables, specifically: age group, gender, medical specialty, years of experience, nationality, Vitamin D deficiency, Diabetes mellitus, and hypertension; and depression symptoms, among Saudi and non-Saudi medical staff in the KSA. Results and Conclusion: Results of this study concluded that there is a significant relationship found between depressive symptoms and gender, specialty, years of experience, and vitamin D deficiency. Relationship with age group, nationality, diabetes mellitus and hypertension, is not statistically significant. These results are concordant, in most parts of this study, with the previous studies in different times and regions, done for nearly similar purposes.
