Introduction. The urgency of improving the spatial and functional organization of the service sector of the Moscow population is due to the currently changing way and lifestyle, behavioral preferences of the population regarding the use of social infrastructure facilities. The existing functional composition and territorial accessibility of objects do not correspond to the needs and prospective requests of various socio-demographic groups of the population. The purpose of the study is to determine the principles of organizing the system of cultural and consumer services that meet the challenges of the current stage of the economic, socio-demographic, technological, urban development of the city. Materials and methods. The study used data from official statistics and field survey (collection of information about the territory, population, existing buildings, condition of objects), systemic, typological, functional and structural, statistical and comparative analysis. Results. An improved model of the functional planning organization of social infrastructure is proposed, which provides for the development of service facilities of two levels –– regional and interregional, differing in the frequency of visits by the population, the functional composition of objects. The placement of objects of the regional level, according to the model, is provided in microdistricts or planning areas, at the interregional level to ensure the capital’s functions –– in specialized territories. Taking into account the existing transport framework and the recommended spatial organization of social infrastructure in the system of built-up areas a system of city-wide centers of the following levels is proposed: agglomeration, inter-district, district. Conclusions. The transformation of the functional-spatial organization of social infrastructure in the proposed direction will create favorable conditions for the development of a system of cultural and consumer services, ensuring the comfort of living, high quality of the urban environment, improving the quality of human capital.

Sociological studies in urban planning are increasingly being used in planning the placement of facilities across the city, including facilities in the service sector. When conducting a sociological study, the following methods were used: population survey (using online questionnaire), field survey (collection of information about the territory, population, its movements with cultural and domestic purposes, prevailing development, condition of facilities), analysis and generalization of survey results, comparison with data of the official statistics. The results of the study are: the main areas for the development of the social infrastructure of the city and a model of integrated functional and spatial organization of facilities developed taking into account modern behavioral preferences of various socio-demographic groups of the population. On the territory of the city of Moscow (in residential quarters, groups of residential quarters, groups of districts, administrative districts), a new type of facilities is proposed for placement - a multifunctional public complex (MPC) of socio-cultural purpose. The proposed functional composition of MPCs is formed taking into account a survey of the main consumers of services - socio-demographic groups of the population and their behavioral preferences. The main peculiarity of MPCs is the combination of cultural, sports, and additional education facilities that are currently insufficiently present in the urban environment.

The paper deals with the problems of scientific support for the formation and implementation of the program for sustainable development of rural areas, including the service sector. The role of the service sector and its impact on the standard of living of people in rural settlements is defined. The necessity of developing the socio-economic policy of the village is justified, taking into account the main tasks envisaged by the state’s agricultural policy. It is proposed to provide conditions for the development of rural areas, the development of agricultural production and services, which can make it possible to ensure food security in the country and improve the quality of life of people in rural settlements. It is important to take into account the diverse needs of people when providing them with goods and services. Improving the development of social infrastructure can meet the needs.

Industrial revolution is the trigger of the growing demand from households for consumer services, and from the other institutional units for services improving the quality of production processes. The quality of services is the factor of the competitiveness of objects at different levels of the country’s economy. In turn, logistics mediates all the processes of building a service as an intangible product. The nowadays trend of digitalization of all economic spheres is particularly relevant for logistics of the service sector. The article shows the direct and cyclical inverse role of the service sector in the modern economy in terms of its impact on the competitiveness of objects of different levels. The classification of services relevant to the research goals is given. Features of factors of competitiveness of non-material production are revealed. The role of logistics forming the competitiveness of enterprises in the non-material sphere is shown. Criteria for the classification of digital technologies of industry 4.0 in logistics of the service sector are proposed. Digital technologies involved in the sector of consumer and non-consumer services of material impact on property are presented and justified.

AbstractThe design of micropolarizer array (MPA) patterns in Fourier domain provides an efficient approach to reconstruct and investigate the polarization information. Inspired by Alenin’s works, in this paper, we propose an improved design model to cover both 2 × N MPAs and other original MPAs, by which an entirely new class of MPA patterns is suggested. The performance of the new patterns is evaluated through Fourier domain analysis and numerical simulations compared with the existing MPAs. Particularly, we analyze the reconstruction accuracy of the first three Stokes parameters and degree of linear polarization (DoLP) in detail. The experimental results confirm that the 2 × 2 × 2 MPA provides the highest reconstruction quality of s0, s1, s2 and DoLP in terms of quantitative measures and visual quality, while the 3 × 3 diagonal MPA achieves the state-of-the-art best results in case of single-snapshot systems. The guidance of this extended model and new diagonal MPAs show its massive potential for the division of focal plane (DoFP) polarization imaging applications.

Friction between the tow and tool surface normally happens during the tow production, fabric weaving, and application process and has an important influence on the quality of the woven fabric. Based on this fact, this paper studied the influence of tension and relative velocity on the three kinds of untwisted-glass-fiber tow-on-roller friction with a Capstan-based test setup. Furthermore, an improved nonlinear friction model taking both tension and velocity into account was proposed. According to statistical test results, firstly, the friction coefficient was found to be positively correlated with tension and relative velocity. Secondly, tension and velocity were complementary on the tow-on-roller friction behavior, with neither being superior to the other. Thirdly, an improved model was found to present well the nonlinear characteristics between friction coefficient and tension and velocity, and predicational results of the model were found to agree well with the observations from Capstan tests.

Purpose: The primary objective of this study was to quantify cancer family caregiver (FCG) quality of life (QOL) in a Southern Albanian population and to determine whether differences exist between 4 domains of QOL (physical, psychological, social, and spiritual). This study also sought to compare QOL in our cohort to QOL in historical studies that used the same survey instrument, and to examine correlations between demographic characteristics and QOL to identify any high-risk groups. Methods: A sample of 40 FCGs was recruited at the Mary Potter Palliative Care Clinic in Korçe, Albania. Each participant completed the City of Hope Quality of Life (Family Version), a validated 37-question instrument that measures caregiver well-being in 4 domains: physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. Results: There were no significant differences between the composite scores of the 4 QOL domains in our study. However, there were differences when comparing self-reported QOL between domains (“Rate your overall physical/psychological/social/spiritual well-being”). The QOL measured in our study was significantly lower than in 3 studies from the United States that used the same questionnaire. There were no significant correlations between demographic groups and QOL. Conclusions: This study examines the impact that the paucity of palliative services has on the QOL of Albanian cancer FCGs. Although there were no domains of QOL or demographic groups identified in our study that were faring significantly worse than others, the poor overall QOL provides further evidence to support the continued development of palliative services for both patients and family members in Albania.

The center–surround organization of the receptive fields (RFs) of retinal ganglion cells highlights the presence of local contrast in visual stimuli. As RF of thalamic relay cells follow the same basic functional organization, it is often assumed that they contribute very little to alter the retinal output. However, in many species, thalamic relay cells largely outnumber their retinal inputs, which diverge to contact simultaneously several units at thalamic level. This gain in cell population as well as retinothalamic convergence opens the door to question how information about contrast is transformed at the thalamic stage. Here, we address this question using a realistic dynamic model of the retinothalamic circuit. Our results show that different components of the thalamic RF might implement filters that are analogous to two types of well-known image processing techniques to preserve the quality of a higher resolution version of the image on its way to the primary visual cortex.
