This study used an Action Research Method to investigate ways to improve the thinking and reasoning skills of grade eight science students in an under-resourced school in Karachi. The students’ rote learning patterns were challenged using the schema provided by Blooms’ taxonomy of learning domains. A cooperative learning environment was generated with a renewed investment plan, a restructured lesson plan and an intensive workshop with the group leaders. These interventions were done with the help of the preliminary data that was collected through questionnaires. The outcomes of the action research method showed a positive correlation between cooperative learning approach and academic achievement of the students.

The study entitled "Improving teacher competence in preparing syllabus and lesson plans through ongoing academic supervision in SMP (Public Middle Schools) Negeri 2 Sabang" raised the issue of whether through continuous academic supervision it can improve teacher competence in preparing syllabi and lesson plans. This study aims to improve the competence of teachers in Sabang 2 Public Middle School in preparing syllabus and lesson plans. The subjects of this study were teachers of Sabang 2 Public Middle School in the 2016/2017 academic year, totaling 13 teachers, consisting of 10 PNS teachers and 3 non PNS teachers. The method used is the school action research method. Data collection is done by test and observation techniques. The study was conducted in 2 cycles. In the first cycle 31% of teachers obtained the appropriate syllabus and lesson plan and were considered good and in cycle 2 there were 100% of teachers who had syllabus and lesson plans that were appropriate and considered good. The conclusion of this research is that through ongoing academic supervision scientifically proven to improve teacher competence in preparing syllabus and lesson plans.

For a profesional teacher should master a class-management, especially, knows about the management functions. There are as follows; planning, directing, acting, organizing and controlling. Planning consists of curriculum, educational callender, learning schedule, semester program, and lesson plan, and they are mastered by a profesional teacher. Learning directing should succeed and pass a scoring target, mastering all of materials, learning methods, strategy and learning approaches. After finishing all of learning and teaching processes, then it is to evaluate and analysis to make a good program on the other time. The objective of this research is how to improve compentence teacher in classes management by using discussing method in this research. The research method uses of the classroom action research; it concists of two cycles, and each cycle uses four steps. They are planing, acting, actuating and reflecting.

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning result and activities by using the cooperative learning model of Talking Chips type on the subject matter of Biodiversity in class X MIA1 MAN 1 Medan T.P. 2018/2019. The research method is classroom action research and the subject of this research are students of class X MIA1 as many as 35 people. The instrument that used in the study are test of student learning result namely pretest and postest as many as 30 questions and observation sheets of student activities. The results showed that based on the learning result of the first cycle, the average score of pretest was 40.6 increased to 68.6 in the postest. At the second cycle, there was an increase from 62.8 in the pretest to 74.5 in the postest. In this study, the data of individual and classical learning completeness criteria are obtained as follows: as many as 30 out of 35 students or 85.72% who scored above 70 or equal to 70, and 5 other students or 14.28% got a score below 70. Based on observations of student activities, the percentage of students who were active in the first cycle was 48.2% with total of students 17 out of 35 students, and students who were active in the second cycle was 80% with total of students 28 from 35 students

The low of student’s achievements were indicated because the students were not active and the teacher’s lack of skill. This condition needs a further research in order to improve the student’s achievement through cooperative learning type SAVI in impulse and momentum subject. The specific purposes of this research are to describe: 1) teacher’s skill, 2) the student’s achievements; 3) the students’ participation in the classroom; and 4) the students’ responses. These research were classroom action research that consists of 3 cycles. The instruments were used Lesson Plan, Worksheet, Evaluation Sheet, affective scoring sheet, teacher’s skill and student’s participation observation sheet, and the students’ response observation sheet. The data were acquired by the observation results, questionnaire, and documentation. The results of this research were: 1) The teacher’s skill was improved from 99.21% to 96% and 99.28%; 2) the students’ achievements including cognitive and affective aspects were improved from 81.46% to 88.1%, and 90.96%; 3) The participation of students in teaching and learning process were also increased from 63.67% to 84.43%, and 85.5% in cycle III, 4) the students’ responses during teaching and learning process were very good. According to the results, it can be concluded that the achievements of XI IPA-1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Jorong in learning impulse and momentum were improved after the treatment of cooperative learning model type SAVI.

Abstract, The background of this research is the need of various learning method to improve student’s learning ability. One of them is TSTS (two stay to stray). The purpose of this research is to examine TSTS learning method effectiveness in improving student’s learning ability and how much improvement made in implementing TSTS learning method. This research uses cooperative learning with two stay to stray (TSTS) model and action research method trial on learning process of PKn subject at Elementary School. The result of the research indicates improvement on students’ ability on PKn subject by using TSTS learning method, and the effectiveness of this model is proven with the increase of average score of 83.41%. TSTS model in First and Second cycle has proven, exponentially, contributes to the increase of students’ learning results.  Keyword:  effectiveness, learning method, TSTS model, Elementary School students.  Abstrak, Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya kebutuhan mengenai metode pembelajaran yang bervariasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan belajar siswa, salah satunya dengan penerapan model pembelajaran TSTS. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran TSTS dalam meningkatkan kemampuan belajar Siswa dan seberapa besar peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran TSTS.          Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep cooperative learning dengan model two stay to stray(TSTS), serta metode action research yang diujikan dalam proses belajar mengajar siswa Sekolah Dasar pada materi PKn. Sedangkan untuk hasil yang diperoleh adalah terdapat peningkatan kemampuanSiswa dalam pembelajaran PKn dengan model pembelajaran TSTS dan keefektifan melalui pemanfaatan model pembelajaran TSTS terbukti dengan meningkatnya nilai rata-rata sebesar83,41. Hal itu sudah menandakan bahwa penggunaan model TSTS di dalam siklus I dan II memberikan kontribusi yang sangat besar bagi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas,metode pembelajaran, model TSTS, siswa SD.

Cognitive ability to recognize the concept of numbers is very important to be introduced early on, so children are accustomed to easily solving simple problems related to numbers. The problem found by researchers is that children have difficulty when asked to numerate objects, numerically order numbers, and connect images of objects with numbers according to the amount. In an effort to address this problem, the educator introduces new media, namely the number egg media made from used materials and designed as attractive as possible so that students were motivated to learn. This study aims to determine whether there is cognitive development in recognizing the concept of numbers 1-10 in children aged 3-4 years in the Playgroup Al-hikmah Kweden Karangrejo Ngasem District Kediri Regency between before and after the action. The research method used is classroom action research conducted in three cycles. This research involved subjects of 3-4 years old children totaling 18 students. The analysis technique in this research is quantitative descriptive technique by comparing learning completeness between the time before and after the action. The results obtained in the first cycle of 50%, and in the second cycle of 63.8%, while in the third cycle of 81.9%. From the results of the study it can be concluded that through the egg media numbers can develop cognitive abilities in recognizing the concept of numbers 1-10 in children aged 3-4 years.

The purpose of this research is to develop activities and result student learning outcomes inMechanical Engineering Basic using Cooperative Learning Model Type Jigsaw II on XTP1 students atSMKN 6 Bandung. Research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists ofthree cycles. The study conducted by learning begins with pretest and posttest each cycle. Average yieldfor the specialist group activity each cycle as follows: Cycle I 44.16% (being), increase in cycle II to56.83% (being), cycle III to 86% (very high). Then the average home group activity for each cycle asfollows: cycle I 37.5%, increase in cycle II to 69.79% (high). Increased again the third cycle to 93.83%(very High). From the activity affect students’ learning result in each cycle of learning, especially pretestresult and posttest scores : pretest cycle I 48.91 and posttest 63.78 (up 14.84). 61.89 cycle II pretest andposttest 78.78 (up 16.89), 72.56 cycle III pretest and posttest 86.89 (up 14.33). Based on Analysis ofresearch data obtained in the field I nt can be concluded that the application of Cooperation LearningModel Type Jigsaw II can be increase the activity learning and learning result outcomes in subjectMechanical Engineering Basic of XTP1 at SMKN 6 Bandung.

This research aimed is toimproving the students’ learning achievement and activitiesthrough improving accounting learning process by implementing jigsaw type cooperativelearning model.Using action research method, this research was done throughplanning, implementation, observation and reflection. This action research was conductedin two cycles. Every cycle was done in eight metings.The data of learning achievement werecollected through materials comprehension test before the action, after the first cycle action,after the second cycle action, and after all actions had been completed. Data keaktifan belajar siswa diperolehmelalui pengamatan pada saat proses belajar mengajar berlangsung. This research aims to obtain data on improving cognitive abilities through Betawi’s traditional game activities through song. The study was conducted at TK Mutiara Duri Kosambi Cengkareng, West Jakarta and the subject of this research is TK Mutiara B Group children. This study used a class action research method which was carried out with two cycles. Data is obtained from observation instruments, documentary studies and field notes. Observation of pre-cycle measures obtained an average of 53.95%. In cycle 1 the average results of observations 71,042%. Then in the second cycle cognitive ability has increased 18.53%, with an average yield of 89.58%. The results of research conducted at TK Mutiara show that Betawi traditional game activities through song can improve cognitive development of young children. The implications of this study suggest that teachers should implement learning by maximizing play activities. The teacher is also encouraged to be more careful in planning and implementing learning so as to achieve the goals set.

Students less active for learning because the learning just centered on the teacher so resulted in the low the results of learning and student activities. So the result done to improve student learning outcomes and activities with method of problem posing in setting the model of cooperative learning to electricity dynamic materials. This research was an action research such us: planning, acting, observing, reflection. The techniques of collected data used test, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The result showed: (1) the implementation of lesson plan the first cycle is 97,36% and second cycle is 99,08% (2) student activities include be a good listener, want to ask, contribute ideas, and willing to work in the first and second cycle in well criteria, (3) learning outcomes of student in cycle I and II respectively , 66,66% ( not completed), 83,33% (completed). Obtained summary that method of problem posing in setting cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes and activities.
