Cultural barrier often occur on electronic mutual business group (e-Warong), as is a social assistance program as a form of synergy between the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Mutual Business Group/Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE). Beneficiaries of social assistance can also make transactions on e-Warong using a Prosperous Family Card (KKS) through Electronic Data Capture (EDC). This unique program prioritizes the achievement of social and economic goals at the group level instead of individuals profit, one group consist of 10 people who have been assessed as independent and do not receive PKH assistance anymore. The previous results showed that the management ability of e-warong was still low, and it hindered the achievement of social and economic empowerment goals. Business failures are caused because they do not have a strong incentive to do business and situation is getting worse since the Covid pandemic. The aim and purposes are to asses cultural barriers in business practice of e –Warong, 2) To describe obstacles and efforts to overcome cultural, and 3. To describe practical and theoretical implications for the development of social welfare science. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach and the data collection method was selected according to the following stages: 1) Determining the research topic, 2) Identifying secondary barrier, and 3) Explore the data sources through journals, archives, books, etc, 4) Finding and collecting data, 5) Analyze the data, and 6) Draw conclusions. Interviews were conducted with informants of e-warong and District Social Welfare Workers (TKSK) at e-Warong Karasak Bandung. The results showed there were three dimensions of culture, namely create the idea, sense of business and business intention. These three dimensions were still low especially in realizing business ideas, basically the cultural components should complement each other in conducting business to achieve goals. These findings directed to the recommendation for the supervisor of e-Warong Anugerah Sentosa to strengthening cipta-rasa-karsa (idea, sense and intention) as the basis for e-warong KUBE PKH business.

Poverty is considered as a complex and multidimensional public problem. Poverty problems become a complex problem so that a country cannot have the ability to eradicate poverty on its own. The majority of Indonesians are at a low economic level. This condition causes the poverty rate in Indonesia to increase from year to year.In the context of accelerating poverty reduction as well as developing policies in the field of social protection, the Government of Indonesia has implemented various poverty alleviation programs such as the social assistance program. To make the program successful, it is assisted by a team of sub-district social welfare workers (TKSK). The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the Role of Sub-District Social Welfare Workers (TKSK) in the Poverty Reduction Program at the Social Office of Bone Bolango Regency and its inhibiting factors.The analytical method used in this research was a qualitative data analysis method, using an interactive model. The data collection model used in this research was conducted through observation, interviews and documentation.Based on the results of the study, it shows that the role of sub-district social welfare workers (TKSK) in the Poverty Reduction Program considering from the aspect of the role as coordinator, role as facilitator and role as administrator has been implemented but has not been effectively implemented. It also considers the competency factors and hindering facilities.

PurposeThe purpose of this article is to show how remote working affects employees' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB).Design/methodology/approachThe authors conducted research on organizations in the financial sector, as this segment was able to easily adapt to the challenges of remote working and teleworking. They used the case study approach: they analyzed organizational documents and management communications related to crisis management back to March 2020, when the pandemic started in Hungary, and conducted semi-structured interviews with managers and subordinates.FindingsThe results highlighted that the dominant organizational culture determines the effects of remote working on OCB. In organizations with a dominant market culture, OCB has changed the least because of the home office, with only a decline in the dimension of civic virtue. In organizations with a dominant clan culture, conscientiousness decreased, while the other three dimensions increased. The dominant hierarchy culture reacted the most unfavorably, excluding the dimension of courtesy, as all dimensions decreased.Originality/valueThe study shows how the pandemic and working in home office have changed the dimensions of OCB in different organizational cultures.

Differences in structural resources and individual skills contribute to social-class disparities in both U.S. gateway institutions of higher education and professional workplaces. People from working-class contexts also experience cultural barriers that maintain these disparities. In this article, we focus on one critical cultural barrier—the cultural mismatch between (a) the independent cultural norms prevalent in middle-class contexts and U.S. institutions and (b) the interdependent norms common in working-class contexts. In particular, we explain how cultural mismatch can fuel social-class disparities in higher education and professional workplaces. First, we explain how different social-class contexts tend to reflect and foster different cultural models of self. Second, we outline how higher education and professional workplaces often prioritize independence as the cultural ideal. Finally, we describe two key sites of cultural mismatch—norms for understanding the self and interacting with others—and explain their consequences for working-class people’s access to and performance in gateway institutions.

This article uses a case-study approach to discuss the effects of Chinese economic engagement on three dimensions of human capital development: local employment, training and skill building, and knowledge and technology transfer. The study findings suggests that Chinese economic engagement can and does contribute to human capital development in Africa; however, this is dependent on certain sectoral factors and contextual conditions. This study advances a working hypothesis that the human capital development impact of Chinese economic engagement will vary across countries and sectors of the African economy. This working hypothesis seeks to guide further research towards developing a theoretical framework for the study of Chinese economic engagement in Africa and its effects on human capital development. The article also identifies research areas that should be further explored in order to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of Chinese economic engagement in Africa.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo conhecer as contribuições do pedagogo nos Centros de Referência e Assistência Social (CRAS), na cidade de Imperatriz-MA. Com abordagem qualitativa, a coleta de dados foi realizada em um período correspondente a um mês; desse total de tempo, uma parte foi dedicada à observação da rotina das atividades realizadas no CRAS e a outra às entrevistas com os pedagogos que atuam nas unidades, para saber como trabalham e quais são as contribuições desses profissionais para os CRAS. Com base na observação e na análise dos dados, foi possível perceber que os pedagogos participam da equipe técnica, que é responsável pelo acompanhamento das famílias cadastradas no CRAS, de palestras, do atendimento dos grupos e do Serviço de Convivência e Fortalecimento de Vínculos, além de realizar o planejamento das atividades e dos projetos que serão executados pela unidade, com os outros profissionais que compõem a equipe do CRAS.Palavras-chave: Pedagogos; Assistência Social; Direitos; Planejamento.OTHER SPACES, NEW KNOWLEDGE: the pedagogue of operations in Reference Center and Social Assistance – CRAS at Imperatriz-MAABSTRACTThis study aimed to know the teacher's contributions in the Reference Centers and Social Assistance in the city of Imperatriz-MA. With a qualitative approach to data collection was carried out in a period of one month of the total time two weeks were devoted to observing the routine of activities at CRAS and the other two weeks to interviews with teachers working in units to find out how they work and what are the contributions of these professionals to the CRAS. Based on observation and analysis of the data, it was observed that the teachers participating in the technical team that is responsible for monitoring the families enrolled in CRAS, lectures, attendance groups and Living Services and Strengthening Linkages, and carry out the planning of activities and projects to be executed by the unit along with the other professionals who make up the CRAS team. This paper deals with the Korean welfare reform carried out due to the extremely unstable societal atmosphere, caused by the 1997 economic crisis. Introduction of the National Basic Livelihood Security Act and expansion of the coverage of social insurance are characterized as the projected reform. Nevertheless, the newly introduced public assistance program and the social insurance schemes still have room for improvement. For example, social insurance schemes had provided a protective umbrella in favor of regular workers, but it did not do the same for temporary contract-based workers or the self-employed. The government's efforts have not been sufficient to overcome these problems. This paper suggests some measures to resolve problems still existing in the Korean welfare system today.

Culture is man-made; one belief system originated with the human civilization. It has bounded the people within one common belief system. Culture determines the personality of people. Here, the main objective of this study is to find out the cultural barriers to girls at the time of menstruation. The study was conducted among the 120 girls of secondary level school. The study found that 50% girls reported that they were deprived to carry out the daily activities like cooking and fetching water and more than 80% girls shared that they were deprived to go in religious places at the time of menstruation. The result founds that still the cultural practices have created the stigma and discrimination towards the girls at the time of menstruation which has direct effect in their personal and professional growth and development as well as it has also significantly affected in the menstrual hygiene management. So, there is need of massive awareness program to society about the negative impact of harmful cultural practices related to menstruation.

The aim of the article is to present the social assistance model in Poland in the light of new concepts of public management in this area. As a result of the review of the available literature on the subject, the genesis, evolution and directions of development of social assistance in Poland are shown. New directions of management in the context of social policy were discussed. The description of the social welfare model presented in the article is systematising knowledge in the scope of the discussed problem and by comparing new management concepts, assessing the possibilities of their implementation on the ground of social assistance. The first part of the article describes the genesis and evolution of social welfare in Poland and discusses its structure. In the second part, through comparative analysis, an attempt was made to characterize new management concepts, New Public Management and governance, in the light of the social welfare model in Poland

This article presents a study of supported social enterprise, a hybrid organization that not only either employs or trains members of marginalized social groups, often on disability pensions and social assistance, but also has social welfare characteristics. These organizations sell services and goods, like other forms of social enterprise, but rely heavily on external support from government programs, foundations, and a parenting nonprofit. The article presents an empirical study using a survey and interviews of participants in these organizations from Ontario, Canada, and notes that even though they earn minimally from work in these organizations, they view the experience positively. The final discussion centers on the concept of supported social enterprise and raises the question as to whether such organizations should be viewed primarily as a form of social enterprise or as a modified form of social welfare organization.
