The natural and socio-economic characteristics of the territory play a decisive role in the spread of the pandemic of COVID-19. It provoked a restructuring process in practically all fields of the social life. Its main areas were laid before the pandemic, but the changes were sharply accelerated by the pandemic. In analyzing a number of Russian and foreign publications, the authors discuss the main areas and methods of human-geographical study of the development and consequences of the pandemic. The constantly growing flow of publications in this field can be divided into three major parts: studies of the spatial spread of infection on the different stages; analysis of demographic, (geo) political and economic implications of the pandemic, and attempts to forecast the impact of social and technological changes accelerated by it on territorial structures. The authors note in particular that the geopolitical picture of the world with the division of countries into developed and developing, rich and poor, authoritarian and democratic, Eastern and Western, became much less clear. The most obvious geopolitical consequence of the pandemic is the further fragmentation of the political and socio-economic space. Not only state, but often also administrative boundaries have turned into almost insurmountable barriers for people and trade. The COVID crisis has opened new opportunities for a reasonable combination of the concentration of social life in the «archipelago» of large cities and the development of other territories.

The increasing need for spices in the world triggers various expeditions to find sources of spices in the world. The activity of searching for the origin of these spices gave birth to international trade systems and routes. The emergence of this spice route resulted in the emergence of trading ports which became the forerunner to the emergence of new kingdoms. Jepara was one of the kingdoms that emerged because it had a port in a strategic area on the spice trade route. The hustle and bustle of trading activities in Jepara also affects the social life of the Jepara people who have long been known for their carving skills. Traders who come from various parts of the country and abroad open up opportunities for cultural mixing, which has an impact on culture, expertise, and the application of patterns in the art of Jepara wood carving. In this paper, the researcher tries to mitigate the development and influence of acculturation brought by foreign traders with a historiography method to make it easier to read the impact of the maritime spice route on the development of carving in Jepara. The results of this study shows the application of various wood carving motifs to various artifacts as a result of the influence of the mixed culture in Jepara at that time.

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected social life. In efforts to reduce the spread of the virus, countries around the world implemented social restrictions, including social distancing, working from home, and the shuttering of numerous businesses. These social restrictions have also affected crime rates. In this study, we investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the frequency of offending (crimes include property, violent, mischief, and miscellaneous) in Queensland, Australia. In particular, we examine this impact across numerous settings, including rural, regional and urban. We measure these shifts across the restriction period, as well as the staged relaxation of these restrictions. In order to measure impact of this period we use structural break tests. In general, we find that criminal offences have significantly decreased during the initial lockdown, but as expected, increased once social restrictions were relaxed. These findings were consistent across Queensland’s districts, save for two areas. We discuss how these findings are important for criminal justice and social service practitioners when operating within an extraordinary event.

Remarkable strides have been made in science ever since the scientific revolution in the 17th century, and the scientific community continues to prosper today. In its professional activities and social life, this community has created a scientific culture that is increasingly prosperous and is having a significant impact on the development of human culture. The scientific culture has distinctive features that are different from those of the literary culture. For example, it emphasizes the decisive role of objective examination in the course of enquiry to reduce the impact of the subjectivity of researchers on the results. It also stresses the objectivity of knowledge and testing that objectivity through reproducibility. It favours experimental and mathematical approaches while underestimating the roles of imaginal and intuitive thinking, and advocates the values of utilitarianism. This paper concludes that the distinctive features of the scientific culture should be examined in the course of its current development to eliminate the negative impact of utilitarianism.

Coronavirus named Coronavirus 2019-nCoV or (Covid-19) by the World Health Organization (WHO) has spread to all corners of the globe, disrupting many aspects of day-to-day life. The pandemic has led nations to implement stringent social distancing measures to prevent the spread of the virus; these include stay-athome advice, closures to schools and businesses and a pause to everyday social life to reduce close contact among people. Sport is no exception: livelihoods in the sector have been severely disrupted; gym, leisure, sport and recreational facilities have shut down; professional and community sport is suspended; and major events have been cancelled. Studies show that this has many economic and social repercussions, with the sports and tourism sectors effectively shutting down, and the strictest lockdown measures.

Globalisation has diverse definitions and concepts.1 Globalisation has many facets and has a variety of social, political and economic implications. This term introduced in early 1980, which never precisely defined, is a frequently used word in the political economy. It simply means growing integration of the national economies, openness to trade, financial flows, foreign direct investment and the increasing interaction of people in all facets of their lives. Globalisation also implies internationalisation of production, distribution and marketing of goods and services. International integration implies the adoption of common policies by the individual countries. Between 1870 and 1914, the world was integrated into a single word economy dominated by one power: Great Britain. The government functions were limited and faced many constraints like gold standard and lack of freedom to pursue easy monetary policy. Later governments were burdened by performing many functions like achievement of macroeconomic goals—full employment, economic growth and price stability. Freedom of using macroeconomic policies resulted in greater integration of national economies but at the same time they led to international disintegration and interdependence. Streeten (1998) argues that today global market forces can lead to conflict between states, contributing to international disintegration and weakened governance. Before 1914, the world was more integrated than it is today but it did not prevent the First World War.

The Covid19 pandemic outbreak, which is fast and widespread, has spread throughout the world and is still ongoing, greatly affecting the economy of people and life in all countries. The impact on the socio-economic life of society and the country, including increased unemployment and economic hardship. The absence of income due to disconnection / loss of livelihood sources to meet food and clothing needs is an important pillar. Apart from the economic and health sectors, it also affects the agricultural sector and related to it. This paper aims to present the active role of the government in overcoming economic difficulties and the agricultural sector through the distribution of the Social Safety Net (SSN/JPS) assistance program which is more targeted, the type of assistance and the timing of its receipt. With the qualitative descriptive method, a review of various information, literature and results of studies related to the distribution of JPS especially to small farmers during the Covid 19 pandemic is described. Various situations and conditions in society and the world tend to reflect panic not only in health, but also extending to the economic structure food security and social life which require more serious handling. The Covid-19 pandemic is a momentum that has brought various broad and multi-dimensional impacts, where normal mechanisms that rely on market mechanisms are difficult to recover. The need to empower and increase social cohesion and solidarity which are very important in maintaining cohesion between citizens and being a means of social control, accompanied by the values of altruism that have grown and developed in society must be revived as social solidarity that can strengthen social cohesion. The JPS program is a necessity that must be carried out by the government, even though it is accompanied by interventions in the smooth implementation of its distribution.
