The pandemic caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been basically under control in China since March 2020, but the import of domestic SARS-CoV-2 has begun to increase. This study reported the first case of asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection imported from Spain into Sichuan Province, China, on March 11, 2020. The infected male had a body temperature of 37.5°C, normal blood oxygen saturation levels, and a computed tomography (CT) examination showed that his lungs had no shadows. However, a throat swab from the subject tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 using qPCR assay. In this study, we conducted transcriptome sequencing on respiratory throat swabs from the subject and found that the dominant SARS-CoV-2 sequence (Gene Bank ID: MW301121) was a spike protein D614G mutant strain, which is currently popular throughout world. We downloaded and analyzed SARS-CoV-2 sequences collected from cases in China and Spain for comparison and tracing purposes. After March 11, 2020, the Chinese domestic clade was naturally divided into the imported SARS-CoV-2 D614G mutant strain and evolutionarily-related similar sequences and that of sequences collected in the original Wuhan area. The sequence reported in this study was located on a small branch, far from the evolution of Wuhan sequences. As expected, the identified sequence was closely related to the evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 D614G mutant strain circulating in Spain.

At the end of 2019 the world was shocked by the corona virus infection pandemic. This virus began with reports of infections in the Wuhan area, China. The death rate from covid-19 infection can reach 3%; however, the mortality rate in critically ill patients with Covid infection is much higher, reaching 61.5%. The main manifestation of covid infection is respiratory tract infection. Corona virus can penetrate central nervous system) and cerebrospinal fluid in less than a week. Histopathological examination of the brain of the deceased Covid-19 showed the potential for SARS-CoV-2 to infect the central nervous system (CNS). Neuro-inflammation can also damage the BBB (Blood Brain Barrier). A number of patients treated with Cocid 19 infection exhibited symptoms of confusion and agitation in the absence of respiratory symptoms or other signs of infection. A recent survey in China showed that 35% of respondents reported psychological distress while 53.8% rated the psychological impact of the pandemic as moderate or severe. The existence of the Covid pandemic not only has a direct impact on infected individuals but has also caused a new wave of psychological stress in society. This study attempts to summarize the neuropsychiatric impact and neuropathological mechanisms of Covid 19 infection.

Abstract Wuhan area located middle Yangtze River Basin, is dominated by East Asian Monsoon. Widely developed Holocene flu-lacustrine sediments are ideal materials for the reconstruction of paleoclimate change and geo-environment evolution, for which the chronology is a key issue. In this study, 20 luminescence dating samples were collected from a flu-lacustrine sequence and the reliability of the quartz OSL dating to these samples were checked by using luminescence characteristics of dose recovery test and thermos transfer test. Our results indicate that different grain size fraction of 4~11 μm, 38~63 μm, and 90~125 μm were well-bleached before burial. Dating results show that all these ages range from 0.8 ± 0.1 to 7. 9 ± 0.7 ka between 4.25 and 38.55 m, and most of them follow the stratigraphic sequence and other climatic recorder within the normal range of error. Disordered OSL ages may be caused by complicated transport-deposit processes. As a consequence, OSL dating method of SAR-SGC protocol could provide a significant chronology for Holocene flu-lacustrine sediment in large river depo-system.

Abstract Background: Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on Chinese patients with pre-existing headache remains unclear. The present study investigated the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on headache patients in China. Methods: A survey was conducted through an online survey platform from June 6, 2020. Demographic characteristics, PHQ-9 scores, ISI scores, COVID-19 questionnaires and headache profile section were included in the online questionnaires. Results: Eventually a total of 15,000 participants from China completed the online questionnaire. Among them, 2806 participants (18.71%) had preexisting headache disorders. Our analysis showed a reality of those participants with remission of headache duration (3.414±6.859 vs 4.033±7.325, P=0.000), headache days per month (1.788±2.989 vs 2.092±3.694, P=0.000), and headache intensity (4.110±1.609 vs 4.290±1.680, P=0.000), during COVID-19. Smoking (OR=1.397, 95% CI 1.090 to 1.790, P=0.008) and getting support from family members during the social isolation (OR=1.656, 95% CI 1.075 to 2.550, P=0.022) were the independent factors of remission in headache duration. Education level (OR=1.478, 95% CI 1.103 to 1.980, P=0.009) and having relative or acquaintance got COVID-19 (OR=0.643, 95% CI 0.458 to 0.902, P=0.011) were the independent factors of remission in headache severity. And participants living in Wuhan area, having COVID-19 symptoms or COVID-19 diagnosis and having relative or acquaintance got COVID-19 are more likely to get headache deteriorated. Conclusions: Participants presented an overall trend of headache remission during COVID-19.
