Abstract: Character education requires a basis of conceptualization of the character and moral comprehensively by cultural basis which is clear and focused. To form students who have a positive character, it should also require the environment which has character. Person’s behavior is determined by the environment it means someone is going to be a person who has character if grown in environments characterized. That’s what needs to be built the basic character which is from the moral values of humanity in the community, both as individuals or groups. Education establishes good character and personality intact someone, besides every parent in the family, it can also be done through moral guidance in schools, moral guidance should be designed and managed in such a way so that in the learning process there is also the process of establishing good attitudes and behavior, in practising character values can be taught through activities intracurricular (integrated subjects) and extracurricular activities so that students can translate in real behavior. Character education is everything is done by the teacher, which could affect the character of students. Teacher helps forming the character of students. This includes how the implementation of exemplary character education in the perspective at schools especially teacher behavior, the way teachers speak or deliver material, how teacher tolerates and other related matters. Character education is an investment system of values character to the citizens of the school which includes the components of knowledge, awareness or volition/ will, and action to implement those values. Implementation can be realized through the methods: (1) know how to lose, (2) understand the difference between winning and success, (3) respect for others, (4) work with others, (5) demonstrated integrity, (6) show self-confidence, and, (7) give return. Today, the attitudes and behavior of Indonesian students are declining. Schools as a component of character building have an important task in inculcating morals, ethical values, noble character, and strong and tough characters. This study was conducted to analyze the implementation of character education in Indonesia. The qualitative research using an ethnographic approach was used in this study on the implementation of character education in elementary schools. A total of 115 participants were interviewed at the school, including principals, teachers, extracurricular coaches, parents, and students. Observation, interviews, and documentation were used as the research instrument. From the results of this study, it was found that character education was very much needed in learning. The character education that was implemented in the elementary school sample includes religion; discipline; responsibility; leadership; tolerance; cooperation; love cleanliness; neatness; courtesy; perseverance; bravery; self-confidence; economical; independence; honesty; acceptance diversity; nationalism; Justice; creativity; and reward achievement. This study also described the character education strategies applied in elementary schools, namely, exemplary; habituation; school climate conditioning; integration in learning across all subjects; and integration through extracurricular activities.   Received: 2 September 2021 / Accepted: 30 October 2021 / Published: 3 January 2022

This study discusses in depth about the moral values of responsibility in the novel Laskar Pelangi. Furthermore, the proposed related to the socio-cultural background of the authors in the creation of novel Laskar Pelangi effect on moral values. In addition, also discussed the author's view of the world related to the teachings of the value of responsibility. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The results showed that the value of responsibility based on the novel structure consisting of man's relationship to himself, namely in terms of character and characterization. The characters are displayed Andrea Hirata bring the characters responsible for the thoughts, attitudes, and behavior. From a review of genetic structuralism, the value of responsibility based on social and cultural background, knowledge systems also influence the social and cultural life. Belitung people's livelihood systems are revealed also shape the character responsible. The author's world view of morals includes the value of self-existence, self-esteem, self-confidence, fear, longing, and responsibility.

Developmental growth disorders in children under five will result in a decrease in the formation of attitudes and behavior of children in the future. These disorders can be prevented by stimulating development. This study used a quasy experimental design. This research was carried out for 4 months in Privately Practising Midwives in Sidotopo village of Semampir sub-district of North Surabaya with a sample of infants aged 6 to 12 months. Data sampling used consecutive sampling collected through observation using the observation sheet. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test to see the difference in gross motor before and after treatment in  the treatment group. In  the treatment group 40% infant experienced an increase of 1-2 segment of motor development and 60% had an increase of 3-4 segments.

El enfoque de enseñanza-aprendizaje impulsado desde el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES) incorpora una nueva forma de concebir la educación universitaria, donde el alumnado asume un papel principal en su aprendizaje. A su vez, implica una revalorización de la tarea docente y de la acción tutorial para reforzar el proceso formativo y el desarrollo integral de los alumnos y alumnas universitarios/as. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer la opinión del alumnado acerca de los elementos relevantes en el uso de las tutorías académicas con el fin de identificar sus necesidades y mejorar la acción tutorial. En el diseño del estudio se adopta un enfoque descriptivo a partir de un cuestionario dirigido a estudiantes universitarios, que incluye preguntas relativas a su comportamiento y actitud personalante las tutorías, a la eficacia de las mismas, a su grado de utilización, y a la comunicación y relación establecida con el profesorado en dicho proceso. Los resultados, obtenidos a partir de una muestra de 322 estudiantes del campus de Teruel de la Universidad de Zaragoza, muestran cuatro aspectos relacionados con la autoconfianza del alumnado, la utilidad percibida, la motivación personal y el ahorro económico y/o de tiempo que supone el uso de las tutorías académicas. Si bien el grado de utilización de las mismas resulta moderado, es preciso destacar el valor que el alumnado otorga a la acción tutorial como estímulo para afrontar el trabajo requerido para superar la materia, así como para optimizar su tiempo de estudio. The teaching-learning process promoted by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) calls for a new approach in which the student is the main actor of his/her learning. This implies an increase in the value of the teaching task, in general, and tutoring in particular. Tutoring reinforces the training process and the integral development of students. The main objective  of this study is to examine the opinion of university students about the use of academic tutoring in order to identify their needs and improve tutorial action. In the design of the study, the students were given a questionnaire to survey their personal attitudes and behavior toward tutorials, the extent to which they used tutorials and their effectiveness, and the level of communication and the relationship established with the teacher in the tutorials. The results, obtained from a sample of 322 students at the University of Zaragoza, Campus of Teruel, reveal four key points related to students’ self-confidence, perceived utility of the use of tutorials, personal motivation and financial and/or time cost (saving) that the students gain by attending tutorials. Although university students make only moderate use of tutorials, they emphasize the value of the tutorials as a stimulus to face the work required to pass a subject, as well as to optimize their study time.

The title of the research is The Role of Parents in Shaping the Character of Children in the Globalization Era in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. In the current era of globalization, there are many influences, both positive and negative. This negative influence must be avoided because it can affect a person's habits, attitudes, and behavior. Character education is one of the important things that must be applied in the family environment. Parents must reflect good attitudes and habits in interacting in the family environment and in the community environment. This is important for fostering good attitudes and habits in children. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the role of parents in improving children's character in the era of globalization, Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. What factors can influence the formation of children's character in the era of globalization, Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. What efforts are made by parents in shaping children's character in the era of globalization in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. This study aims to determine the role of parents in shaping children's character in the era of globalization in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. The subjects of this study were 6 parents and 6 children in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data analysis in qualitative research is by doing data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City has been good in shaping children's character in the era of globalization.

The human–environment relationship is bidirectional, meaning that human attitudes and behavior to nature are at the root of environmental change, while changes in the environment affect human attitudes and behavior. It is necessary to analyze the human–environment relationship from two aspects: (a) Whether there is a good objective basis for maintaining an environment, and (b) whether people report that they are satisfied with that environment. This study attempted to construct a framework to evaluate the human–environment relationship considering these two aspects. The framework consists of three parts: Traditional evaluation, indicator construction, and evaluation considering the relationship between subjective and objective assessment. Traditional evaluations consist of subjective evaluations and objective assessments. Indicator construction focuses on putting forward indicators that quantitively evaluate the human–environment relationship, considering the results of objective assessments and subjective evaluations. The indicators introduced in this study include MD (match degree) and OSC (objective assessment and subjective evaluation comparison) to explain the difference and the relationship between objective assessments and subjective evaluations of the environment. Then, based on the indicator value, a matrix containing four situations (Match-H, Match-L, H-L, and L-H) was constructed to explore why a human–environment relationship may not be harmonious. Since the upper Minjiang River basin is a typical area, because of its intensive human activity, as well as its fragile ecological environment, this study chose it as a case study and used it to verify the framework. Through the framework construction and application, this study found that: (1) The framework of this study provided a more comprehensive method to evaluate the human–environment relationship; (2) as the subjective evaluation was based on individual comprehensive tradeoffs, the evaluation combining the subjective and objective assessment was more accurate; (3) environmental conditions were the basis, and human activities were the key factors, for the coordination of human–environment relationships; so the matrix put forward in this study was necessary for finding the cause of human–environment incongruity.

Hindu teachings contain a lot about character education, morals, ethics and manners. Moral education can be seen in the story of Sundara Kanda, which is a sub of Itihasa in the Ramayana epic that tells the journey of life with various obstacles and tests that must be faced with full fortitude, strength and determination. Every event that occurs in the Sundara Kanda story is a unified narrative unit in resolving the conflict of every event. The setting in this story uses the setting of Mount Mainaka, Alengka Palace, Taman Angsoka, Kiskinda kingdom. The character is Hanuman who becomes a central figure, then there are goddesses Sitā and Ravana. The accompanying figures are Trijata, Wibisana, Anggada, Jembawan, Sugriwa, Laksmana and Rama. Rahwana as the Antagonist, then there are also giants. His mandate is loyalty and determination in carrying out dharma. Character characters contained in the Sundara Kanda story include characterization displayed through the use of the character's name, through the appearance of the character, and characterization through the author's speech. In accordance with the characters contained in Hindu teachings, namely in the book of Bhagawadgita, the characters in the Sundara Kanda story can be grouped into two characters namely daivi sampad and asuri sampad. The values ​​contained in the character of the Sundara Kanda story include religious, honesty, responsibility, tolerance, discipline, and hard work. As a whole, the character's character value is a national character that should be inculcated and developed to the wider community, in order to shape the attitudes and behavior of a person in carrying out the duties and obligations that should be carried out both towards oneself, the family environment, society, nation and state.

The implementation of character education in Ma'had which is full of noble values in its existence has succeeded in shaping the attitudes and behavior of santriwan and santriwati which are expected to have good character, through the application of a distinctive teacher strategy capable of realizing religious human resources. Ma'had Tahfidz Kampung Qur'an is a non-formal institution that pays attention to strengthening character education, especially religious values, honesty, discipline, and hard work. It is hoped that this value will become an icon that can become a foothold for value transfer so that the vision and mission which is expected to be able to create religious human resources and always interact with the Koran towards the person of Insan Kamil. This research uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach and descriptive methods. Data collected through observation, interviews, and document study. Data analysis techniques by means of data reduction, data presentation, examination of conclusions and verification. The results of this study are (1) the teacher's strategy in integrating character values for students and students in ma'had (2) the impact of character values for students and students in ma'had through religious, honesty, discipline, and working, (3) Supporting factors and inhibiting Character values for santriwan and santriwati through religion, honesty, discipline, and hard work.

Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the difference in oral health attitudes and behavior between male and female dental students at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). A self-administered questionnaire based on a modified version of the Hiroshima University Dental Behavior Inventory (HU-DBI) was distributed among 375 dental students. The response rate was 83.7% with 48% males and 52% females responding. Female students reported brushing their teeth more frequently than male students (P<0.001). Approximately 47% of the male students brushed their teeth less than twice daily compared to 21% of the female students. Also, female students believed in the necessity of using toothpaste during brushing more often than male students (P<0.01). On the other hand, smoking was much more frequent among males than among females (31% vs. 4%) (P<0.001). Male students indicated they had been smoking for longer periods of time than female students. This survey shows male students visit the dentist only when they have dental pain. While this was more than their female peers, it was not statistically significant (P= 0.056). In general the present study showed dental students in Jordan had poor oral health. Further research is needed to examine the students clinically for periodontal and caries conditions. Karya puisi Tere liye menggambarkan perasaan cinta, sajak tentang memiliki, pun tentang melepaskan. Sajak tentang pertemuan, juga tentang perpisahan. Sajak tentang kebahagiaan, juga tentang kesedihan. Sajak bergurau, bercanda dengan perasaan. Para pencinta adalah pujangga terbaik yang pernah ada dan kasih sayang pun adalah sumber inspirasi paling deras yang pernah ada. Model sosiologi sastra membuat siswa terkesan dengan sajak tere liye ini karena bermanfaat terhadap sifat-sifat kebaikan dan pendidikan karakter tentang cinta dan kasih sayang. Siswa dalam memahami cinta dan perasaan menjadi seseorang yang kuat, optimis dan tidak mudah putus asa. Masyarakat dengan latar belakang pendidikan, suku, agama, ras, dan antar golongan memahami puisi ini akan mengubah sikap dan perilakunya dalam memahami cinta, dan juga siswa serta masyarakat dapat mengambil manfaat moral dan ideologi dari model sosiologi sastra ini. Tere liye menyadari makna cinta dan perasaan seorang sehingga menghubungan nilai moral dengan sajak atau puisi cinta ini. Seperti makna kasih sayang adalah perasaan ikhlas dan bukan nafsu itu terkadang terjadi pada sebagian orang yang sedang jatuh cinta bukan cinta berlebihan memberikan kasih sayangnya dengan tulus dan ikhlas terhadap orang yang dia sayangi.Kata kunci: Sosiologi sastra, puisi, sastraABSTRACTTere liye's poetry portrays the feelings of love, the poem about having, and about releasing. The poem about the meeting, also about separation. The poem about happiness, also about sadness. Sok jokes, jokes with feelings. Lovers are the best poets ever and love is the most powerful source of inspiration ever. The model of sociology of literature makes students impressed with this tere liye poem because it is beneficial to the virtues and character education of love and affection. Students in understanding love and feeling become someone who is strong, optimistic and not easily despair. People with educational, ethnic, religious, racial, and interreligious backgrounds understand this poetry will change their attitudes and behavior in understanding love, and also students and society can take the moral and ideological benefits of this model of sociology of literature. Tere Liye realizes the meaning of one's love and feelings so as to connect moral values with this poem or love poem. Like the meaning of affection is a sense of sincere and not lust sometimes happens to some people who are in love instead of excessive love to give affection sincerely and sincerely towards the person he cares about.
